1. revisions are not showing

   When my collaborators comment with a pin everything works but when they highlight a text, I see the comment but 1 time out of 2 the highlighted text is not highlighted. So I can't see where my collaborator wants me to make changes.

2. spacebar used as toggle for hand tool from another tool

   When using any tool—after using the spacebar to access the hand tool temporarily, the hand tool then remains. It does not toggle back to the tool used previously.

4. alt drag

   Alt + drag doesn't copy anymore, it only moves objects.

5. Broken Creative Cloud links when linking to InDesign documents after InDesign 2021 Update

   I work for a global creative agency. We use Creative Cloud for all of our lockups, logos and vector artwork.

   Since updating to InDesign 2021, we've noticed that all Creative Cloud links are broken and when we export a file with embedded InDesign documents within it, we need to go through and open every single InDesign file again.

   We now have to check every single link in every single exported PDF as there is almost always some broken assets that show up as white boxes.

   InDesign doesn't give any alerts for broken links in this instance either.

7. Rendering intent not being respected switching color spaces inside Swatch-Panel

   Hi there,

   so apparently the rendering intent set in the document OR the application isn't being respected when the color space of a swatch is being changed e.g. from RGB to CMYK.

   Tested in InDesign 15.1.3 and 16.0.1

   Steps to reproduce:
   1 create a new document, with working spaces sRGB and "PSO coated v3" (profile available on eci.org)
   2 create a swatch, e.g. RGB 0 / 98 / 227
   3 change to CMYK, results in the correct 90,64 / 63,6 / 0 / 0

   Now
   - go back to step 2
   - change the "Solid Color" rendering intent of the document to Perceptual
   - now change the RGB swatch to CMYK again, results in the same, but now definitely WRONG color value.

   Expected behaviour:
   after changing the rendering intent the swatch should result into
   89 / 64 / 0 / 0

   Be aware: this only affects switching the swatch. If I keep the RGB swatch and export to PDF with color conversion the applied color is correctly converted.

   It doesn't matter which color space is used , RGB -> LAB also results in the exact same values.*

   [edit: * this sentence is nonsense since rendering intent is used for mapping LAB to CMYK/RGB]

8. Fonts wont apply

   InDesign wont apply a font change. I can highlight text and select a new font but the xhamge wont apply. It immediately reverts to the original font

9. Opening ID files from server: Missing required parameter

   I've been using my Apple Time Capsule connected to my WiFi-Router as a wireless HD for a couple of years now. Since I updated to Mac OS 11 (Big Sur) I cannot open InDesign (v 16.0.1) files directly from my Time Capsule. I get an error which should translate to something like "Missing required parameter "form" for method "open" (see attached). When I copy the file on my desktop everything works like a charm.

10. Find text plays an error sound when I press Return, even though it finds the text

    I have been working with indesign for a few months and already sent in about 10 bug reports. I feel like everytime I open the program I find a new issue. My colleagues say I have a knack for crashing programs or finding issues. I have a very similar problem with PS. I'm really frustrated with the UI and I can't imagine I'm the only one. I know this is a long shot, but feel free to contact me if you need a bug-spotter, because it feels like I found a lot already. And I have more issues that probably don't qualify as bugs.

11. Paragraph style outline cuts through text

    After reopening chapters I sometimes find the outline of a paragraph going through the text instead of below it. I can't relyably reproduce it, but it has happened several times.

12. Can't wrap the first line of a page

    If I place an anchored image at the very start of the page, the first line does not wrap, it disappears behind the image. One solution in the forum was: Make an invisible line of 0pt. Are you kidding me?

13. Organize styles per book, not per file.

    Having to synch the styles manually instead of just having the styles available throughout the book is a pain. Also I cannot synch single styles. There is an object style I use for chapter headings, the objects get displaced everytime I synch.

14. Cannot delete empty pages

    I have empty pages at the end of my chapter. There are text frames on them, because they got created automatically. There is no content in the text frames. If I delete the page, it's gone until I scroll, then it re-appears. If I delete the text frame, the page duplicates itself. I've seen the issue described in the forums, but the solution is such a hack.

16. Email Hyperlink Breaks

    In the Hyperlinks panel, Email hyperlinks that include a subject that includes an ampersand will change from an Email-type to a URL-type when you click OK. Status will then appear as a red dot in the Hyperlinks panel instead of an envelope. Opening it again from the Hyperlinks panel will show the subject gone and in a URL format.

    TO TEST - Highlight text in your document. Open the Hyperlinks Panel. Create a new hyperlink with the [+] button at the bottom of the panel, choose email as the type, type a valid email address, then enter a subject line that include an ampersand (&) . Click OK.

    THE FIX - Removing the ampersand from the subject line will keep the issue from occurring.

17. Nested styles no longer working.

    InDesign 2021

    Used to be able to set a nested style up to or through any specific character (for example a : . Now that option is not working any more. Can only select from the drop down menu. Can work around with a grep style but it's not as easy to get it right.

18. key commands randomly stop working

    This is in InDesign version 16.0.1.
    Key commands randomly stop working for zoom (command + spacebar), proportional sizing (command + shift and command + option + shift), and even just using shift to move on a vertical or horizontal line.
    I use these constantly and the only way I have found to fix them is to restart my machine. restarting the program does not work and I can't find any conflict that may be causing this.
