  1. Descendant Report

    descendent over run the original person at more generations. This does not happen all the time, but occasionally. I uploaded first page and last page to illustrate. Didn't mean to load them multiple times I didn't realize I was doing it at first then I couldn't erase them. Hope this is not a dumb question sometimes I have a hard time explaining myself.

  2. decimals after zero for baseline grid

    The pitch of the baseline grids being in pt, I want to be able to adjust my layout in millimeters to this grid. My conversion gives me a match of 7.0866pt for 2.5mm. However, indesign rounded this measurement from 7.0866 to 7.087. Perhaps it would be interesting to offer the possibility of increasing the possible decimals after the comma?

  5. Add transparency option to paragraph shading

    Paragraph shading is super nice, but a lot of people would like to have them a little transparent over images. I know there is a option for overprinting, but this also change the color and is not a real transparency. Without this option it has to be done manually on each element.

    So please add this additional feature to the settings. Thx

  6. Fonts search and list not working properly

    Indesign doesn't let me search for fonts in the search bar of the fonts list dropdown. I can start typing, and then one font comes up, and I can't continue typing to bring up the font I want.
    Also, once I start typing in the fonts bar, I can no longer use my arrow keys to scroll through the fonts list and it's very frustrating.

  7. Missing info in text panel

    Suddenly all information in the text panel is gone. I had it working a couple of minutes ago but cannot get it back. The information is up in the head of the workplace but not on the panel. Pls look at the screen shot to what is missing.

  8. Pasteboard flashes in sync cursor with GPU performance enabled

    In my experience, this is a new issue arising with InDesign 2023. Anytime the cursor is active in a text frame, the pasteboard flashes in sync with the cursor. If I click another application so the cursor stops flashing, the pasteboard also stops flashing. If I select the frame or something else in InDesign so the cursor disappears, it stops flashing. But anytime the cursor is active and flashing, the pasteboard also flashes. It's very annoying and distracting, and assuming it's a graphics issue, I deactivated GPU Performance.   9. InDesign should apply variating substitutions from rclt

    Variable fonts may contain location-dependent substitutions, but the rvrn feature runs too early for many real-world substitutions. The solution in font-making land has been to use the rclt or rlig features instead, but at least the former is not supported by InDesign. This is a major headache for e.g. Arabic.

  10. Hello^^ My downloaded ID program, I think, is missing some features or functions.

    Actually I think ID in my notebook is downloaded with a incomplete one. I'm a beginner of ID. But while I'm learning it through Youtube lecture, some functions are not active. The lecturer explains a certain function and that item on his ID is active. But on my ID that functions is displayed inactive, so that fucncition can not be selected. Please let me have a normal, complete ID in my notebook.

  11. Upon adding pages Share for Review comments and pins are mapped incorrectly.

    We have a 100+ page user guide that was marked up with many comments. All of these were mapped correctly. Upon introducing 6 new pages (3 spreads) early in the document all of the comments are now mapped 3 spreads out of sync. Removing the 3 spreads did not resolve the issue and now our comments are all mapped to the wrong pages. This is strange as I really would imaging that comments are mapped to specific object ID's rather than a 'physical location'.

  12. 18.1 tools greyed out except for type tool, cannot edit document

    Have searched all options on programme, checked other documents, then computer, finally shutdown and restarted. Still cannot access anything to do with any actions on the tool bar

  14. adjust layout not resizing all pages in file

    Why would Adjust Layout only resize the first 2 (out of 128) pages in my INDD doc? It's only happening on one file. all others resize all 128 pages...as far as I know, the file structures are all identical (they were copied from a master template)...

  15. zoom with touchpad windows

    I would like you to make it possible to zoom with the fingers on the touchpad in Windows. It works in illustrator, but not in Indesign, at a PC, in Windows (only on Mac). Could you make this possible? It gives so much better control over the working process

  16. Tools Screen Mode buttons vanish

    In the tools menu panel, the screen mode button vanishes.... I turn off the tools and then turn it back on and things are happy... for awhile..... it's not a major pain but rather a nuisance... LOL.....

  18. File preview bug

    I've upgraded from InDesign v2022 to v2023 (18.0). When I'm saving files after converting them, the preview image disappears where it was saved with the previous version.

  19. InDesign Application Frame cannot be moved between desktops on macOS Monterey, via Mission Control

    The InDesign application frame cannot be moved between desktops on macOS Monterey via dragging the top edge of the window to the top of Mac desktop and then selecting a different desktop to drop it into in Mission Control. This is contrary to behavior in other programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. InDesign can be moved to a different desktop by dragging it to the left or right edge of the screen but it is preferable to have the functionality using the top of edge of the current desktop so the desired window can be chosen.
