1. Endnotes not accessible in InCopy

   I finally figured out where the endnotes disappeared to when I imported a document from Word, only to find out that they will not link to the story text boxes and are inaccessible from InCopy. This adds all sorts of problems to our workflow.

2. couldn't paste

   I could not paste a letter character AND a tab into a table cell. I could paste letter-tab-letter, but not tab-letter. It would paste just the letter without the tab. Weird I know, and I can't duplicate it right now, but just in case others have seen it.

3. text outside of text frame

   Text suddenly appears outside of frame. This happened on two different pages. In one instance, the number (which is the result of a numbered list) did not appear at all, but it had been previously there, and in other instances, the number appeared outside of the text frame. There were no overrides on the style. This suddenly happened. If i placed my cursor and started typing where the number should have been (and was with all other numbered bullets), then the disappearing number reappeared in the one case, and, in the others, the number moved back into the text frame. 4. Fix it!

   Footnote symbols at the beginning and at the end of the footnote I can't delete them nor the space that associated with the damn blasted symbol.

   It's just a mess. Endnotes footnotes it's a horror show to deal with them. I wasn't before but with this update---truly a horror show.

   Hi,
   Thanks for mentioning this. Do you mean the blue braces at the end and start of endnote text?
   Those are just markers that depict the start and end of endnote text. This will not be printed or exported. helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/using/endnotes…

   To adjust the spaces, please explore and set the Type→Document Endnote options.

6. Footnotes baseline in CC versions

   With Arabic works we need to make a beside footnotes as seen in attachments .. however I did it right way in versions before CC, it is not like that in the new versions (CC and above) .. the baseline in (CC versions) not showing in the right way, Can anyone help for workaround with the style (Beside Footnotes) to make it right??

7. paste

   I'm running High Sierra (10.13.1) and InDesign CC 2018 (November release), and MS Office 2017 (Version 15.40). I have been trying to copy text from Word into text frames in InDesign, and for the past few days, every time I hit Command-V in InDesign, the program immediately freezes and stops responding. No matter how long I wait, the only way out is to force quit.

8. Application quits

   When I highlight text and go to the font menu, the application quits. This always happens the first time I do it. From then on, it works fine. Yet, it has become very annoying. I have a Mac running on High Sierra OS 10.13.2. I'm using InDesign 13.0.1.

9. OpenType All Small Caps disappear when switching dictionary to German

   I have a text that uses the OpenType feature “All Small Caps” in a lot of places. It is currently set to use the English USA dictionary. I am working on translating this text into German, and so I want to use the German dictionary for it. When I try this, all instances of All Small Caps turn to regular lower-case letters. I tried a couple of different dictionaries, some (e.g. other English and Dutch) will retain the SC and others (e.g. None) will make them disappear.

10. InDesign version 13.0.1 x64. Dynamic spelling does not show misspelled words with red underline as you type, prefs are set to that.

But if you do right mouse button, or spell check, it does know the word is misspelled, offering correction suggestions. We really need to see it "dynamically" as one types; this feature is not working.

    Attached files: until pag 34 everything works oks. Then when I add a new foot note reestarts numbering as Note 1

    Based on emails we have recieved from you all, we were able to figure out that issue was either not reproducible or that the feature was not being used correctly.

13. 6 letter word is split at end of line without a hyphenation being added

    Hyphenation of the style is set for 3 letters before, 3 letters after. Correct for the language would be a hyphenation after two letters in this case. Indesign cannot break the word as it wants, INSTEAD it still breaks the word, but inserts no hyphenation. This appears to be a bug. I am attaching a screen shot as well as a package file. The problem is highlighted in yellow on page 26 of the book.

    • select cell with [ESC]-key
    • change label via Javascript

15. World Ready Paragraph Composer not working for Tibetan

    Adobe 2017.1 release, build 12.1.0.56

    Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer (AWRPC) for Tibetan fonts does not work in InDesign. While this was not an issue in CS4 since the Adobe Paragraph Composer (APC) was working well for at least two fonts (Jomolhari-ID and SambhotaUnicode), it has become an issue preventing us from using any later versions of InDesign: the APC became unusable for Jomolhari (our main font), and since the AWRPC was never completely working, we are now in a situation where neither APC or AWRPC works… (though SambhotaUnicode still works for APC only).

    Attached are some self-explaining screenshots (testing 3 different fonts, with both paragraph composers):

    In ID CS4: all three fonts work well for the Adobe Paragraph Composer (the highlight in the SambhotaUnicode disappears when unticking the “Substituted Fonts” option in the Composition preference), but not for the Adobe WR Paragraph Composer:

    In ID CC 2017 (latest version): we can see that while APC works for most glyphs, it stops working well with special characters like the "inverted guigou” (though still working with one font only). But the AWRPC still doesn’t work at all...

    So we would like to request the Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer to investigate the issue, in order to be able to use all the available Tibetan Unicode Fonts that actually work well in Microsoft Word, for instance.

16. InDesign CC2018 – loss of Options from text frames when copy a frame from an older version

    All the formattings of text frames, which I have entred in for example CC2017 or earlier, will not be transfered to CC2018.

    This is scarry, and as I do not have any idea, I'll change back my work zu CC2017.

17. whitespace handling processing instruction not working in InDesign CC 2018

    If the XML contains "whitespace handling" processing instruction, then the XML text not visible in InDesign CC 2018, it returns empty paragraphs, but the same XML working fine in CC 2017.

    Sample XML attached for your reference. Please check and revert ASAP.

18. Duden-Hyphenation changes the language in preferences

    After setting Duden hyphenation in Preferences, the next time the menu is opened, it will change to "1996 Alte Rechtschreibung" instead of "2006 Neue Rechtschreibung". (only on WIN-machines?!?)

19. The killing of hard returns in ToC

    This is a new feature with version 13 ... but (I think only on WIN machines) that can not be stored with the rest of the settings. After saving and creating a table of contents, the check mark is no longer set.
