  1. "Same" font sizes, but they're not

In the most recent version of indesign, when I copy or duplicate a text box, the font size says it's the same, but it is about 2-3 points bigger. Even after eyedorpping the previous style, it doesn't change. I have to manually make a new text box, recreate the font details before copying and pasting it into the box.

  2. paragraph lines don't fit rounded frame-line

When using rounded corners on textframes, paragraph-lines don't fit to the right frame.
We use it with 0,5-pt-framelines and there is a small distance between both lines.
Depending on typesize (and perhaps on other parameters), the distance has different measures.

Reflowing Bug when Resizing Text Box with Footnotes. As you can see in the video, the following page turns blank when I resize a text box to fit more content. Also, every I do this, the lag is noticeable. I tried with InDesign CC2018 and its more responsive.

  5. No Font Spacing Between Words in InDesign 2019 14.0.x-2 on Mojave 10.14.x-4, Works fine in InDesign 2014 (v10.0.70) on Yosemite (10.10.5)

    Posted it here too: https://forums.adobe.com/message/11049072#11049072

So, we've had this issue on our new MacBook Pro running macOS Mojave v10.14.4 ever since last year in August when we were on High Sierra (what came with the Mac).

Basically, InDesign is unusable with Gujarati Sangam MN on the 2019 version but on 2014 (v10.0.0.70) version on my old Mac (OS X Yosemite, v10.10.5) it works fine.

    What's causing this issue?

    We've tried the following:

    - Contacted Adobe & Apple support: Apple said to contact Adobe, Adobe was unhelpful, they suggested we look up if the font was installed it it is on…

  6. Fonts menu selection doesn't work well (it skips some fonts randomly)

On a 2011 27" iMac 3,1 Ghz with SSD drive, with the last High Sierra and InDesign CC 2019 (14.0.2) versions, the fonts selection menu doesn't work well. Please see attached video. This is really annoying because it seems to happen randomly. Thanks for your help. Regards.

  7. extreme typing lag when using span columns

When using Span Column for headers, editing text anywhere in the document (headers, body text, and footnotes) becomes extremely slow, each letter typed taking several seconds to appear. When I change the header paragraph style to Single Column, the typing lag disappears. (If I change only the current header to Single Column, the lag remains; I have to eliminate Span Column from the entire document for typing speed to be normal.) Gets even slower the longer the editing session goes on. Per Adobe chat rep I reset prefs, updated to CC2019, latest Windows update, and updated video card driver, to…

  9. Option to change the color of bitmap fonts

We need a way to change the color for white/grayscale bitmap fonts.

We often use Bitmap fonts for the better texture we can get from them; however, not having the option to change the color of the font, means we have to change the color within photoshop, then either export separate images or entire fonts for each color we use. This is rather inefficient and slows down our process. Having the ability change the color of a white or grayscale bitmap font would be very useful.

  10. lag selecting text

    InDesign 14.0.1

    1. Switch to InDesign from another program
    2. Select either Selection Tool or Direct Select tool
    3. Double click on the text to place a cursor among the text
    4. Double click again to select a word

Expected result: quick action from step to step

Actual result: a few seconds of lag

  11. ID 14.0.2: Fonts menu STILL collapses while browsing through the list of fonts.

Despite upgrading to ID 14.0.2, the same bug happens as described there: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/35736199-typekit-or-adobe-fonts-or-fonts-menu-collapses-w

The bug happens with my personnal font collection. So far I haven't used TypeKit. I'm using FontXplorer 6.0.6. Last High Sierra version on a iMac 3,1 Ghz Late 2011.

On top of that, the font selection tool skips some fonts while browsing the fontlist.

    This is an ABSOLUTE nightmare.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards.

  12. Tabs

Adobe Indesign CC2019 (Latest). MacOS 10.14.5. Mac Pro 6,1.
Tabs do not work. Applying tabs to text does not work. Adjusting tabs does not work. Resetting tabs the trying to set them again does not work.

  13. InDesign writes wrong apostroph. Even PageMaker 20 years ago did it right! Bun in InDesign one nees to press Alt + 0146 to get the correct

InDesign is not able to write a correct apostroph (looking like a 9 instead a 6). Even PageMaker some 20 years ago was able to create the right apostroph! In Windows you habe to put in Alt + 0146 everytime you wonna write an apostroph. This is not only a pity, this is a shame.

  14. Drop Cap/Nested Style Broken in InDesign CC 2019

Since upgrading to InDesign CC 2019, when I edit a paragraph that has a nested style applied to the first line, the entire paragraph takes on the nested style. The paragraph behaves normally until I edit it. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, the behavior is inconsistent. If I copy and paste the text into a new text box, the behavior does not occur, but if I link the existing text to that new box, it continues to happen.

  15. roman punctuation

It would be great if InDesign had a Roman punctuation (hanging punctuation) option similar to Illustrator, where it was set with a toggle. The optical alignment in Story is useful; however, the Illustrator implementation of hanging punctuation is useful in many situations, too.

  16. 2 Headings in 1 cell is displayed incorrectly in the TOC

Since InDesign version 14.0 x64 (Windows), when creating or updating a TOC, the second heading is directly connected to the first heading without any distance and without chapter number. This only happens if both source headings are in 1 cell.

The proof: Documents made before version 14 have a correct TOC. If I open such a document with version 14 and update the TOC, it will break as mentioned above.

  17. find font

Find Font isn't working for certain fonts. See the attached gif. I'm trying to change a passage of text set it Calibri (which I don't have installed) but when I open Find Font, Calibri isn't listed there so I'm unable to swap it out

  18. text overlap

I'm using the Calendar Wizard template to create a calendar and quite often I find when I type text into the date window the text appears to overlap and I can't see what I'm typing (see image). This happens quite often and it's very frustrating. I'm using InDesign 2018 and I'm on a Mac with Mac OS Sierra. I would like to know how to fix this.

  19. Go back to old method of "space after" paragraphs

I'm fine with the concept of allowing users to adjust the "spacing between paragraphs using same style." But the way this feature was added doesn't make sense: I think you should have left the old "space after" system the way it was, and allowed users to add the "spacing between paragraphs using same style" box as an extra option. The way you set it up (unless I'm misunderstanding something), anyone wanting to put spacing between paragraphs now has to enter data into two boxes, whether they want certain sections to have custom spacing or not. It makes the "spacing between…

  20. font selection jumps to top of list

When trying to select a font from the Character Dialog, after I scroll to almost the font that I want to select, the list jumps back up to the top, repeatedly. It's very frustrating.
