2. InDesign not displaying actual (print) size

   InDesign 2021 does not actually show you the printed size of the document.

   There are two potential (and faulty) options to achieve this currently:

   1. Set the zoom level to 100%: On various forums I've read that this should let you view the document at actual print size. A document that physically takes up 10x10cm on your screen, should print at 10x10cm.

   In effect, that doesn't happen and the 100% renders my document at a way larger size than what it's actual size. (I'm literally holding up a ruler against my screen, and a 10cm wide page is about 20cm wide on the screen).

   1. Go to view>view actual size: This one comes closer - the document (and thus objects in it) are rendered about 1.3 smaller than the real-actual dimensions they'll be printed at (as opposed to 2 times bigger in the previous method).

   Again, this doesn't actually work and I'm wondering what it's intended to do.

   My suggested solution:

   I'm using a 4k, 15.6" Dell monitor, and photoshop did this also. It even has a "printed size" in addition to "actual size", which also didn't render things in their correct size.

   I understood that photoshop assumes all screens are at 72dpi, and that causes the incorrect rendering. After "telling" photoshop my actual monitor dpi, which is 283 - it began rendering things correctly when choosing "view print size".

   I when to edit>preferences>units&increments, and tried setting the "points/inch" setting. It was at 72 at default, and I thought that setting it to 283 would solve the problem.

   When I tried doing so, a popup came up and said "the value must be between 60 and 80". So this obviously doesn't work. I'm wondering why this would be the case, as screens today have dpi's of way over 72 and 80.
   Maybe allowing entering higher dpi's will solve this problem?

   Anyway, if anyone knows a solution/idea on how to display print size, I'd love to hear it.

3. %-Sliders not working properly anymore when palette attached to the right edge

   InDesign 17.2 / 17.4: Ever since these two releases came out, I am not able to use my palettes when they are attached to the right edge of my workspace. Example: I want an item in 76 % magenta. I select the item, click ”effects" (Effekte for me, since my default language is German), then choose magenta. Finally I want to slide the percentage to 76. As soon as I touch the slider, the tool disappears. This happens to sliders as in Colors and Transparency, and only if the tools are arranged in a list view in the sidebar. Setting the percentage manually works fine.

   AND: setting the percentage with the slider works, when I pull the effects tool away from the right edge bar, or when I change the sidebar to the full view instead of the small list view.

   As soon as the palette stands for its own, it works fine. So the problem ONLY accurs when I have it attached in a side bar - which I have to, since I am working with only one monitor. This problem started with 17.2. Today I updated to 17.4 and it's still there.

4. file name

   I'm in InDesign 17.1. File names under Recent Files are overlapping and become illegible. Restarting the device and application doesn't solve this issue.

5. Table border selector problem

   Table border selector lines are extremely thin at minimal UI scaling, hard to select and see. In previous Indesign versions versions it was much thicker. Screenshot attached.

6. "Missing font" dialog design error

   In the "Missing Fonts" dialog box, the "Skip" button (B: Überspringen) is clearly highlighted. So you might think that you activate this button with "Enter". Instead, pressing "Enter" opens the "Replace Fonts" (A: Schriften ersetzen…) dialog, which has a slightly bold border.
   This is visually completely nonsensical and confusing.

7. Bug: Page selector not correct after opening next file

   Indesign v17.1, Windows 10
   Problem: when opening a second document while the first currently is on page 22, for example (see screenshot), and then tiling, the 2nd document is shown to be on page 22 as well, though it's not. With the 2nd document being on master page C-Rear EA, the page selector not only shows 22, it also has the checkmark put next to 22 when you open the dropdown.

8. PDF-Comments Panel - Buttonclicks don't register - click several times + SOLUTION

   Report a minor issue in Indesigns PDF-Correction-Panel.

   SOMETIMES in the PDF-correction panel my mouseclicks on the "accept"-Button wouldn't register reliably and i have to click several times in order for the correction to be made. Solution: The clickable area in the button is wrong. You have to click on the "accept"-TEXT inside the button, you can't click somewhere in the outer highlighted area of the button (which would be the expected behaviour).

   (Bug in latest version of Indesign CC, as of May2022, german locale)

9. An error icon for Background Tasks Circle progress element.

   Try to include one Caution or Exclamation Icon near to the circle progress bar to understand it is not progressing but stuck with error.

   Otherwise users get confused with that the process is going on, and wasting too much time. Presently it is shown only on the Background Task window.

10. Bug: Arrange mode "4-up vertical" scales one document differently

    System: Windows 10, Indesign 17.1
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Open 4 identical documents in A4 size, preferably single spreads
    2. From the menu select to arrange them as "4-up vertical"
    3. Press Ctrl-0 on all to fit the documents into the window
    4. Compare the zoom value

    In my case, on a full HD monitor, one document ended up having a zoom of 51.75% while the other three had 51%.

12. Tab order window is not resizable

    I design a lot of long forms inside of InDesign. Part of this process is getting the tab order correct. The Tab Order window only displays 9 rows and is not resizable. This makes at a glance review of the tab order impossible.

    Additionally, dragging and dropping rows above/below each other is broken. The blue line that signifies where I am about to drag something to does not always match up with where the drop actually happens. Sometimes it can be above another field.

    Similarly, if I move a block of rows at once, the view of the window will revert to the top of all of tabs, regardless of where in the list I'm looking. This is extremely frustrating when you just want to move a block of tabs one or two places, but have to do it blindly.

    Please make the tab order window resizable.

13. inaccurate view

    Latest version of InDesign does not show an accurate view. At 100% view or ACTUAL SIZE, it is significantly larger. I was on with Adobe tech services for about an hour as he tried to find a fix. He noticed that the problem does not happen with older versions of InDesign, only the latest version (17.2.1)

    The issue does not exist in Illustrator or Photoshop.

16. Bottom of links palette not clickable/acessible

    The items at the bottom of the links palette are not accessible, I can't scroll all the way down to select them, they seem to be trapped under the line that divides the list from the info area. There's no way of relinking or updating links these links, which is very frustrating. The is happening on all my versions of indesign on all computer for at least two years (on Mac).Is this not happening to anyone else?

17. open file message damaged

    when opening files via IndeSign, every files is mentionned as damaged and IndeSign try to repair it and the last version of the files is not saved. But when opening the same file via the finder (mac os) the file is OK.

18. pages breaking and vertical lines on screen

    When i am working in any document since updating to Indesign 17 including the recent 17.0.1 the pages start to get vertical lines and horizontal lines, and the design elements start overlapping or having duplicates, tables will not display as aligned, trying to select text and my curser is really clicking 2 lines above. If i click "W" to toggle between Presentation view and back sometimes that will fix some of it and other times it will make it worse. I have attached a few screen shots to show how it will display different pages. When i go to export this it is fine in PDF format, but it is making it very challenging to work with, and with some huge 150+ page books we are working on, the file is saved in this version now and we are afraid to revert back to the 16.X version of indesign for fear of creating issues with out client document. I have uninstalled indesign completly including all settings and preferences and reinstalled but that has not helped with the issue.

19. Bug: Find/Change resets search mode

    Windows 10, Indesign 17.x
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a table with several columns, fill column(s) with text
    2. Mark any column, open Find/Change
    3. Set search mode to "Selection", put the find word and change word, then click "Change all"

    Expected result: nothing changes in Find/Change
    Current result: search mode changes back to "Story"

20. Type 1 font warning on Macbook 13"

    The Type1 font warning doesnt fit macbook 13 screen. The CLOSE button doesnt appear. I have to switch to bigger screen resolution to see it.
