Just like........actually do *something* to improve InDesign??
Many popular, highly voted Indesign feature requests—even some that you've responded to—have just been sitting here languishing for yearS...literally yearS. Would it be possible to do something? Like... just do something to improve the development of the program we all rely on for our careers? Thanks<3

À quand le balisage automatique des tableaux (genre dans les styles de tableau) comme on le fait pour les styles de paragraphe (H1, H2, H3, BlockQuotes, Liste)?

RTL in all versions of InDesign, not just the Middle Eastern version.
It is ridiculous that I have to install a completely different regional version of InDesign to get access to RTL. Apart from the addition of an RTL/LTR button and a drop down specially from Arabic, what is the difference other than the default language?

TOC update don't delete interactive button defined with "GoToTarget"
When working with the Table of Contents feature in InDesign and you have created interactive buttons that use "Go to Target...", the entries of these buttons are deleted (the defined target) when the Table of Contents is updated. There is nothing left but to re-enter/enter all button targets. It would be great if only new targets had to be added to the new buttons and existing ones were kept.

Data Merge support UTF-8 character set
I always have to convert UTF-8 text to UTF-16.

Layered Fonts
Please do provide a tool to implement layered fonts. The tool would need to:
- be able to automatically superimpose different layers of a font with different styles (color etc.) in the same place, or in a slight interval to create a shadow-effect
- be applicable to initials (as this is a very common use for layered fonts)2 votes -
Button "back to starting point" in search and replace window
When working through a document you need to search and replace words and other if you recognize a typo error, another word needed or anything else. But if you "search and replace" forward and you find a hit somewhere further ahead or back there is no button to jump back from where you started your search.
Then you need to remember exactaly and search by scrolling where you started.
A button "back to starting point" would eleminate these useless search.2 votes -
Search entire volume for missing picture / links
Search entire volume for missing picture / links connection as its enormously laborious to search each with windows explorer, then copy to dedicated folder then point Indesign to this dedicated folder.
Why isn't it possible to point Indesign to a entire volume, let Indesign search for all missing links and by "packing" all files are copied to the "links"-folder. Would be mega-comfortable !!!1 vote -
fix options for interactive forms (text fields) - default text, font, size, color, alignment, etc. - none currently work CC 21
when making interactive PDF, the Text field doesn't hold the default text, or the font, size and doesn't hold the color.... The text field should hold all the text & attributes that are set in indesign, but even the options for the text field doesn't hold the font or size.

Keeping some formatting when linking unformatted tables from excel
It would be great to have an option similar to typographer's quotes, when linking unformatted tables to excel. An option with a preference checklist to allow superscript, subscript, underline, strikethrough, alignment, etc. while still removing fonts, size, etc. especially the superscript/subscript is crucial when dealing with excel, so it could also just be a tick box for this like with typographers quote.

Don't Adobe and Apple talk to each other? Every time one or the other changes tech, nothing works. They need to be on the same page as each other because it goes hand in hand with their products working together.

Harmonize size of curve handles and object handles as part of UI scaling
The UI scaling is a nice add in 2022. Thank you! But the handles for curves are still tiny relative to the object handles. Can we harmonize?

Select multiple anchored objects
The ability to Shift+click to select multiple anchored objects to be able to make changes to all of them.
One situation this would be useful in is when you have multiple anchored frames for interactive text boxes to update all of their shared properties like font, and font size.

In Preflight option to identify OTF SVG font used
Like Type 1 multiple Master font to find OTF VAR font type. We need option to find OTF SVG font used in the document.
In Preflight option under the heading Font Type not allowed we need this option

Page range(s) and pages/spreads options in Share for Review
Export options for Share for Review
Ability to select page range(s), individual pages vs spreads, etc. directly in the export process, not buried in the last PDF export settings.

PLEASE PLEASE! Buttons and forms Window
PLEASE PLEASE!
The Buttons and forms window is really difficult to work with.
Can you please enhance its usability?
Being able to group buttons, reorder buttons in the window would be a massive help.
Other users have expressed the need to expand the window - this is an absolute must so we can get an overview of the interactivity for each element, right now this is impossible and it takes so much time refining and debugging. Our clients are asking for more interactivity and it would great to be able to do this with the same efficiency as layout in…3 votes -

Highlighting non-consecutive words
I would like to easily highlight non-consecutive words in a document, e.g. names of people in an article, so that I can apply a style sheet to all the highlighted words with one click of the style sheet.
Don't want to use GREP, just a simple keystroke or keystroke combination, e.g. shift > highlight; shift, option > highlight.
Carpel tunnel syndrome is bad enough.
