Add table formatting with cell style rather than replace all existing formatting
When doing financial table I need to added extra space or strike to rows while also adding fills to some columns, also some columns have different text style eg Bold, Italic etc.
With Cell Styles they override the existing formatting.
I would like to be able to add these as a Cell Style to a row without replacing the existing format . This would be a bit like a nested style.1 vote -
Make align/do not align to baseline be available on the text control panel at top as well as on para control panel.
It is great how, at the top of the Indesign work area, when you choose the text portion of the control panel, you can still (at far right) access some paragraph tools (spacing, etc.); and how when you choose the para portion of the control panel, text tools are also still available at far right. Perhaps there is a reason I haven't thought out as yet why my idea hasn't been done, but I have to, I am CONSTANTLY needing to access the align/do not align to baseline tool when I'm in text mode, and I have to keep switching back to the para mode to get to it! It's such a small tool. Is there any way to incorporate it onto the text bar the same way you have incorporated other para bar tools? That would be so helpful! Thanks for any consideration

Email Invoices
Its 2017, how about you start making an option available to email invoices for Creative Cloud? I have to go to 3 different accounts every month to print these manually for my accounts department. Its RIDICULOUS.

Add ability to define text sections
There could be a panel much like the conditional text panel, which allows you to define and name text ranges/sections, which should be stackable.
Thinking of HTML/XML/EPUB export of content, you are then able to feed the sections into div containers (<div class="sec1"><h1>Blabla</h1><p>blablablablabl</p>...</div>).
Nowadays such containers, which you must have according to the DTD/Schema or Website the content will be published after print publishing, have to be added by hand or with tricky XSLT programming.1 vote -
Merge mulitple pages together to create one page. Clients design each panel as the same size rather than having a short fold in panel
Would like to be able to combine pages into one page. Clients are sending files (such as a 3 fold brochure) where each panel is the same size, not taking into account that the fold-in panel should be shorter. Seems difficult to make a shorter page as the page seems to be off and its not an easy fix.

F&C queries stored on server
In stead of storing the xml files in the user folder, making it possible to store them on a server too and be able to refer to that folder with a shortcut. As for the scripts you could have the "user queries" and the app queries. This is handy when you have to control more then one computer in your department.

'Apply Similar Filter' character addition
As already used in Photoshop and Illustrator, the 'Apply Similar Filter' to text and character seems like a logical step, given that InDesign is a primarily text heavy application, being able to select similar fonts would be a must in my books.
1 voteThis is now available in InDesign CC 2018. Thanks!!

Align to top/bottom of page in Paragraph Styles
For text at 90 degrees, allowing the use of one paragraph style instead of using both a left aligned and a right aligned style.

1 voteHi Daniel,
Thanks for sharing this feature suggestion.
I didn’t understand this request, will it be possible for you to share some more details on this. What does “double the amount of line make” mean here. If you have any example where you can show this that would really help.
Thanks

Hi. I have my panels on the right and would like them to expand to the left and collapse to the right.
I keep my panels on the right and would like them to expand to the left and collapse to the right. This option is definitely available in Adobe Illustrator. Seems like a logical feature and probably easy to implement.
1 voteHi Dan,
Thanks for making this suggestion. I tried this out on my machine. What you have in the expectation is exactly how its working, or am I missing something here. Do you have multiple monitors where you are using this, a screenshot of the issue would really help.
Thanks

Search window
Back in the day you could click on "Help" and search for everything and this feature would help you right away. I can't find it now and hope you will bring it back. It's the fastest way to help yourself. Please bring it back. The feature is also to be found in Photoshop.

Excluding settings in (paragraph) styles
When editing a stylesheet i.e. for a paragraph I want to exclude the character colors. When checking -without color- there is also a override+ marking, which is not needed.
Can we have a checkbox to exclude some style settings or another solution?1 vote -
File handling/sizing when relinking preference shouldn't be a doc preference
This should be a setting you can choose when relinking each image. One image might need one option and another image might need the other - not just a blanket pref setting per document.

Allow text to show outside of the text frame when the last item in a Flex Layout
When a text box is used in a Flex Layout in a vertical orientation and is the last item, any letters that render below the base line (aka descenders -> y, j, p, q), the flex box trims the text making these letters unreadable. The only workaround is manually extending the text box height to include the descender. However, when done, this affects the spacing of the Flex Layout.
In a situation where you have individual items (example- a list of events) you want a uniform spacing between the event title, date, time, and location replicated across multiple events. For organization, you would have a parent flex layout (all events) and children flex layouts (individual events). Adjusting the size of the last text box to make the descenders visible affects the spacing of this event, in turn, affecting the spacing between all of the events in the list.
Currently, the Flex Layout seems to work best for a) non-text items, or b) text items with a non-text item at the end for vertically oriented layout. I don't see a situation where trimming text in InDesign is ever useful.
According to InDesign support, this is functioning as designed. I would believe this is a bug but posting to Feature Requests.

Share for Review Custom Settings
I haven't used this feature long, but it seems to be lacking features that designers use throughout the review process.
There's no option to use custom PDF settings.
When my clients are reviewing PDFs, they are expecting to see something that is print or screen ready. They expect the images to look sharp and the colors to be correct. I've developed a number of custom PDF export settings. Everything from including crop marks, how many and which pages to export, export pages as spreads or single pages, include slug to show notes I may have made, customize the amount of image compression, resolution, and how color exports. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to customize the Share for Review settings so I will probably abandon it's use.The only way that I've found to export new/updated comps without overwriting the previous version is to save the InDesign file with a new name and export it as a new file.
There's no way to just upload a PDF to the Share for Review section in the Adobe Files. I had to post it to another area and share the link.

Make custom interactive elements keep their shape when exported to Interactive PDF
If you have a custom interactive element (in the shape of a letter, a circle, triangle, etc.) and export it to an interactive PDF, it converts the custom shape into a square or rectangle every time. Make it so that whatever shape you set in your indesign document is properly mapped and retained in an exported interactive PDF. It would make a good interactive photo mask. I use circles as interactive elements in Indesign directly but it doesn't work when exported. Would be a great feature to have!
