Links Panel: Show Exact Matches only
When re-linking files, add an option to show "Exact matches only". Adobe Premiere has this. So when you're looking for the file you're re-linking, all files are greyed out except for the one that matches your file name.
Find the Premiere equivalent in German attached!

Align Stroke to Outside option by default
For me the default Stroke Alignment setting should be Outside. I am always using boxes and frequently need to change the stroke widths. Since the default setting is Center alignment, this resizes the box, which I can't imagine anyone ever wanting. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the default stroke alignment to Outside, so I am constantly having to change this in the Stroke window. Which means we must have the Stroke window open simply because we cannot set the Outside as default. InDesign 19.2, Mac Ventura.

Hide all text and picture box borders when hiding Guides.
I wish InDesign would hide all faint text and box borders when hiding the document Guides. I am forced to go to Overprint Preview to hide those, which slows down the design process, because Overprint Preview mode is very slow and not at all smooth to scroll through multiple book pages to preview designs without the distractions of seeing any faint text boxes. I don't see this ability in any of the Settings menus. Indesign 19.2, Mac Ventura 13.6.4

artificial intelligence for text
Wouldn't it be a nice idea to have InDesign apply some artificial intelligence for looking at the text? Like what ChatGPT can do, but then integrated into InDesign. Checking the complexity, readability, Colorcontrast, tone-of-voice etc of your text. Would love to see that. Or suggestions on how to solve readability-issues for accessible PDF! Yeah!

intelligent swatches for type
When changing selection from object to text frame swatches should change to the text itself intead of the text box.
I always accidentially fill the text box with colour first instead of the text. I think, users want to change the text colour a lot more often than the colour of the text box.1 vote -

On iMac I have a search feature under the help tab. On Windows I do not and I am struggling to find things in the program now!

Line Spacing in Story Editor
Seems like it would make more sense if you could edit the line spacing for the story editor as you would in any text box, rather than being locked into just a few options. For instance, someone might find it easier to read at 1.15 spacing, or want to customize for another reason.

As a low vision user, I'd appreciate if there was a fully black inDesign theme. I use the darkest, but it'd be nice if there was a total black background option.

Add Suffix Customization
I regularly use InDesign to build layouts destined to be JPG or PNG, so this new feature is very much appreciated, BUT when using the + Page Size suffix, the suffix includes spaces [eg."1260 x 350"] rather than the more web-friendly underscore or even better no spaces at all please. [eg."1260x350"]
I've been using the [absolutely wonderful] Batch Rename feature of Bridge to fix this after the fact, but wondering if it would be possible to be able to choose/customize the suffix content more.

Set an increment for auto-sized text boxes
When making a text box auto-sized, it would be good to set how much it expands by, be it 0.5mm, 1mm etc. I use it for laying out org charts, and to set the spacing between each box it helps when they are sized to be even 1mm sizes and sit at y value of an even number. If the box ends up auto-sized to 23.34mm then starting the next box at a y value of 25mm means a 1.66mm space between the two boxes instead of a nice even 2mm or something. If I could set it so that if a box needs to expand it does so in even 1mm increments this would mean nice, regularly-sized text boxes.

InDesign for Apple Vision Pro
Hello,
I am an Artistic Designer that uses InDesign for about 30 hours a week. I essentially live within InDesign for work. I would very much like if you would make a full fledged InDesign available within Apple's Vision Pro headset. I'm not even asking for a Spatial redesign, though it would be amazing eventually. Just support for downloading and installing the full version of InDesign without an unnecessary additional subscription or mobile friendly version. Please, this would make a huge difference to a lot of people.

Exporting PDF Security Settings (Bug)
When exporting documents to PDF where there are multiple layouts, there is a bug that happens when adding a Security Password to the PDF, where it will revert back to the original layout/all pages if you do not check it.
So in essence if I only want to export layout 2, it will revert back and export all pages in the document after I input the Security details.
A way around this issue is to make sure you put in the Security details and password first then go back to the General tab and input your settings. If you do the Security details last (which is usually the workflow since it is lower in the side menu) it will erase the General tab info.
This is another step to remember to do if you are trying to export quickly which I think could easily be fixed.
E.g to recreate the issue
1. General tab - set range to export alt "layout 2"
2. Go to Security and add in password
3. Asks to re-put in password

Option to export PDF without creating a new folder.
Ability to save a page as a PDF within an existing folder to make it easier to track versions I am sending to a client. It would let me keep my organization consistent with other Adobe products- where I track changes in the same folder with updated file names. The folders seems to be a recent feature that I do not have the ability to turn off and would like to see that as an option. Thanks!

Sharing preferences across devices using the same account.
I would love to be able to share my InDesign preferences such as custom workspace layouts and custom preflight profiles through the cloud so that they are available on any device I sign into and also don't get lost every time there is a new major update/release of InDesign. These are key features to productivity and a lot of time can be spent setting preferences to get InDesign optimised and just right for your individual workflow, it is really frustrating to have to keep doing this on every device and after every update.
I know you can manually copy workspace profiles between devices but it is a tedious and complicated process currently and would be better if it all just synced through the cloud.
