Right-Click to Duplicate Page Directly on the Canvas
Currently, duplicating a page in InDesign requires navigating to the Pages panel, locating the desired page, right-clicking, and selecting "Duplicate spread." This process, while functional, adds unnecessary steps—especially in documents with many pages.
Proposed Enhancement:
Enable users to right-click directly on a page in the workspace to access the "Duplicate Page" option. Why this matters:
Faster workflow: Eliminates the need to open and scroll through the Pages panel.
More intuitive: Mirrors how users interact with objects and text frames—directly on the canvas.
Reduces friction: Especially helpful for designers working on large or complex documents.

Make it possible to anchor a graphic to the beginning of a paragraph without five or six tries and two or three zooms
It'll go AFTER the first letter…it'll go some random place in the first FEW letters, but before the first one? Especially if the first one is a sans-serif letter "I"? HAHAHAHAHAH! No. Not without cajoling, retrying, zooming, threatening, and telling it what a good little cursor it is.
I realize this isn't a **** problem, but it's been literally decades of this feature being…what's the technical term…bad.

Feature Request: Apply Paragraph Styles to Non-Contiguous Paragraphs (Ventura Publisher-Style)
Dear Adobe InDesign Team,
I’d like to request a feature that would greatly improve workflow efficiency: the ability to select non-contiguous paragraphs and apply a paragraph style to all of them at once.
This was a standout feature of the early Ventura Publisher, which used a structure-first approach—encouraging consistent use of styles over manual formatting. With Ventura, you could quickly tag multiple scattered paragraphs (like subheads or captions) and assign a style with a single keystroke. InDesign currently requires each paragraph to be styled individually unless using GREP or Find/Change.
Adding this ability—perhaps via a paragraph tagging tool, enhanced multi-selection support, or scriptable UI—would save time, promote structured design, and benefit long-form publishers, editors, and template-based workflows.
Thanks for considering,
Mike Wiley

Option for Share for Review (in browser) to view both resolved and unresolved comments at the same time
It would be really helpful for users commenting on a Share for Review document in browser to be able to see the resolved and unresolved comments at the same time, as opposed to either one or the other.
There is repeated confusion from people adding comments which had already been added and resolved. This could be easily fixed by adding an extra 'unresolved' tag within the filter list.

Typographer’s quotes need to be the default
I have been using InDesign since 2006. The so-called “typographer’s quotation marks” that are an option that needs to be activated in the settings menu are quotation marks. Set as default is a glyph denoting an inch. This cannot be used instead of quotation marks and why that even is an option in pro software is incomprehensible. Even though the majority of InDesign users will be typographers, it is unnecessary to create an opportunity for less knowledgable users to make mistakes. – It’s a relic from the typewriter keyboard where there was only one glyph available for quotation marks and an inch. This should have been amended years ago. Please do it now.

Typographer’s quotation marks need to be the default.
I have been using Indesign since maybe 2006. There is an item called “typographer’s quotes” and that is still present in the latest version. It should have been removed years ago. They are quotation marks. The default ones are the glyph for “inch”. This is a relic from the typewriter keyboard where there was only one key for both. Please amend asap.

CC asset anchored inline with text should change size with font in reflowable epub
For CC library assets anchored inline with text, can these be made to accomodate font size choices in reflowable epubs?
Jutoh is supposed to be able to do this, but I can't quite get it.
So far I cannot see how to make an asset, a tiny image to suit 12 point original font, change if the e reader changes font size.
Creating my assets was many steps also, and I figured it out with unfortunately no luck finding steps in the forum. But they work perfectly InDesign and also Affinity Publisher. They also change size of course manually in the document with no loss. Thank you!

Long Paths support in Windows
As in all Adobe programs, LONG PATH SUPPORT in Windows must be implemented at the manifest level, according to Microsoft's own guidelines (SOURCE: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/fileio/maximum-file-path-limitation?tabs=registry):
<application xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v3">

AI tool/agent for typographic/text related questioning of InDesign document
I’m handling long documents (books, magazines) on a daily basis and would love to see an AI tool/agent inside InDesign, which I can ask various typographic questions via prompting, such as:
* List all page numbers which contain orphans/widows.
* List all page numbers which contain less then 15 lines of text in the main text frame/story.
* List all page numbers where paragraphs end with a single word in the last line.
* etc.Since these things can only be done by visually checking every single page or with partially complex scripting, such an AI agent would help to ease my daily work a lot!

Easier Workspace Profile Overwriting
When updating a custom workspace (via Window > Workspace), it would be helpful to have a direct option to overwrite an existing saved workspace—rather than requiring users to select “New Workspace…” and retype the same name manually to replace it.

Advanced GREP Substitution Based on Content Structure
Enhance the GREP search-and-replace functionality to allow targeting specific components within a content structure (e.g., tags, glyphs, or partial patterns) without altering the entire matched string. This would enable more precise and context-sensitive text manipulation.

Footnote Numbering Across Independent Text Frames
Currently, footnote numbering continues only within threaded text frames. It would be extremely helpful if footnote numbering could optionally continue across separate, unlinked text frames within the same document. This would allow for more flexible layout designs without breaking numbering consistency.

Direct Select Tool select control points regardless of active object
The direct selection tool should behave like a direct selection tool regardless of whether the object is currently selected. Currently, InDesign will treat the direct selection tool like the regular selection tool if an object is currently selected. This is broken UI. This is counterintuitive. The 'direct' selection tool should select control points regardless of whether the object is already selected. It should just grab control points or lines directly as indicated in the name of the tool. There are about a decade's worth of community posts about this issue, so maybe Adobe should fix it, now? What do you think? Do you think a direct selection tool should select control points directly in all situations? I sure do. Please, and thanks.

Publish Online - Shared Access
For companies, it would be very beneficial to see all online published documents from everyone in the organization. This would help to still maintain one external link to open the published files, but in the case of employee(s) leaving the company, the file can still be updated.
As of now, it is not possible to see or update links/documents that other people published online.
Please rework, much needed feature. Please upvote!!!

Fix the display of "selected" pages in the Pages pane
When the editing pane has focus, the "selected" page in the thumbnails should be the one where the insertion point is sitting (unless there's a selection that crosses the page boundary). Currently, the Pages panel inexplicably selects TWO pages whenever the insertion point is placed on a page (when using spreads). This creates problems when the user is working on the right page, and performs certain actions like starting a new section.
Currently, that section will start on the wrong page; because the Pages pane has selected the left page as well as the right, the new section will start at the left page, instead of where the user actually invoked the command (on the right page).
Auto-selecting the one page where the user places the insertion point would not preclude anyone from clicking on multiple thumbnails in the Pages tab and performing actions as they do now. When the user clicks back in the editing area, the pages pane would return to highlighting the page containing the insertion point as the selected one. This behavior already exists, but it's just erroneous and absurdly inconsistent: If you select three page thumbnails, and then click back in the editing area, the selected page thumbnails will indeed change... oh, but only if you happen to click on a page outside of the selected collection. Otherwise, nothing happens.
And there's another problem, AKA another selection: There may be yet another selection highlight, on a parent page... which has nothing to do with either the editing pane or the page thumbnail that's also highlighted. That should never happen. With both child and parent pages shown as selected, what will the next user action apply to? He doesn't know.
In summary, it's a very simple fix: When the user places the insertion point on a page in the editor (or the editor regains focus), select that ONE page in the Pages pane.

Toevoegen verloop opties in Alinea-arcering
Alineastijlen > Alinea-arcering > Arcering > Kleur. Daar is het wel mogelijk een gemaakt kleurverloop te kiezen, maar niet de rotatie in te stellen. Het gaat nu alleen van links naar rechts. Ik zou het graag willen draaien.

Understanding Computer Transformers: The Backbone of Modern AI
In the realm of artificial intelligence, transformer models have emerged as a groundbreaking innovation. Introduced in the 2017 paper "Attention Is All You Need" by researchers at Google, transformers have fundamentally changed how machines process sequential data, such as language and images .
The Architecture of Transformers
At the core of transformer models lies the self-attention mechanism. This allows the model to weigh the relevance of different parts of the input data dynamically, enabling it to capture context more effectively than previous models like recurrent neural networks (RNNs) . Transformers consist of encoder and decoder components, which process input data in parallel, leading to faster and more efficient computations.

Package multiple Indesign files at one time into one folder
We often have separate files in one folder that share files in the files folder. Example, a letter, a brochure, a self mailer, a card, reply envelope. Currently we have to package each file individually and then drag all the files and fonts into one files and fonts folder.

Restrict 'Remove All Local Overrides' to Selected Layer Only
Often, when 'Remove Selected Local Overrides' isn't possible, selecting 'Remove All Local Overrides' will replace parent page text boxes, thereby deleting any content you may have (and may have spent a lot of time working on). Restricting removing all local overrides to a selected or unlocked layer would allow all other content on other layers to be protected.
ps Reapplying a parent page as a workaround has the same effect – parent page text boxes are replaced.
