Enhancement for Check Spelling Functionality
If you could please enhance the Check Spelling option by incorporating features akin to those found in the Find/Change button, it would greatly improve user experience. Specifically, having an "Ignore/Include Masters" button during the spell check process would be particularly beneficial. This addition would allow users to seamlessly choose whether to disregard or include master elements in their spell-check sessions, thereby providing more flexibility and efficiency. Such a feature would streamline the editing process, especially for those working with complex documents, ensuring that they can focus on the necessary corrections without disrupting their workflow. Your attention to this enhancement would…

Support for CMYKOGV (eg. FOGRA 55)
Certification was completed back in 2021 after conclusion of a FOGRA research project. The color exchange profile (ICC) can be downloaded from the FOGRA website.
In essence expanded (or extended, varies by publication) color gamut offset printing is the idea of increasing the color space of CMYK using 3 additional colors (orange, green, violet).
CMYKOGV as characterized by FOGRA 55 is proofable using Epson SureColor printers (P7570, P9570).
I have seen several printers already offering 7c offset print. These days it's basically to cut down on cost (to achieve almost complete Pantone coverage without having to resort to actually spot…

Request: Optional Horizontal Page Scrolling (Book-like Viewing) in InDesign
I mainly work on book and magazine design.
I would like to request an option to view and navigate pages in InDesign using horizontal scrolling, similar to the experience of reading an actual book or PDF spreads.
Currently, InDesign’s vertical scrolling workflow makes it difficult to grasp:
page rhythm and pacing
the relationship between facing pages
the overall structure of a book as a physical object
For editorial designers, books are fundamentally horizontal sequences of spreads, not vertical documents.
When checking layout balance, typography flow, or visual continuity, vertical scrolling creates a disconnect from the real reading experience.
If users…1 vote -
Ribbon and tab interface
I would like to express my desire to have the current menu bar replaced with a Ribbon and tab interface, similar to what is found in Microsoft Office 2016. I believe this new design would significantly enhance efficiency and usability. The Ribbon format organizes commands and tools in a way that is much more intuitive, allowing users to access the functions they need with ease. Instead of navigating through various nested menus, which can often be cumbersome and time-consuming, the Ribbon provides a clear and visual way to find and use features. Overall, I think this change would greatly improve…

Create a tool called Work Checker.
I propose that the developers create a tool called "Work Checker." This tool would feature a screen where any design with multiple pages could be presented like a video. The "Player" should offer adjustable speeds to navigate through the pages. What would the benefit be? This tool would allow us to compare our layouts in a "spatial" way, making it easier to ensure that the elements on each page maintain aesthetic coherence throughout the entire piece. It would also help identify any "jumps" in elements that disrupt the overall design aesthetic.

Match Page Navigation When Comparing Two Documents Side-By-Side
It would be helpful if page navigation in one document could be matched in the other when comparing two documents side-by-side, i.e., when comparing two versions of a document.
As it is, it's necessary to navigate, i.e., page-down, in one document then click on the other document and repeat the navigation. As there's no key command to switch tabs/documents/windows either, it's even more unproductive.
Having the option to make the other document in the 2-up arrangement match navigation would improve productivity greatly.

Page background colour
I would like to suggest implementing a feature that allows users to assign or set an individual background colour for each page—rather than using the default white, especially for documents with large number of pages with different page sizes. This feature should be integrated with swatches, eliminating the need to create separate coloured rectangles on each page.

Let AI create paragraph and character styles
How about designing a text by adding fonts, spacing, color, sizes etc. for headings, body text, photo credits, streamers, lists etc. and then ask AI to generate the styles for it and apply those throughout the rest of the document?

Parent Pages
Parent pages are very helpful, but can only impact the very the bottom layer of the page it's applied to.
Would be helpful if a parent page could contain both layouts (base layer and/or an overlay layer), or the ability to apply up to 2 parent pages (base parent / overlay parent) to a page.I'm sure every InDesign user who has ever used Parent Pages can see value in this feature:
Watermark graphics, common headers/footers/copy over changing images, etc.1 vote -
The new Mac operating system doesn't support postscript anymore so it's critical to give us the option to save a booklet in pdf.
Eiminate the postscript option in print booklet and replace it with pdf. for saving the booklet on desktop

Regression: Inability to cycle through Blend Modes using arrow keys in the Effects Panel
Hi Adobe Team,
I am reporting a significant workflow regression in the InDesign Effects Panel (and Properties Panel) that has persisted into the 2026 versions. The Issue:
In older versions of InDesign, users could click on a Blend Mode (e.g., "Multiply") in the Effects Panel and then use the Up/Down arrow keys to instantly cycle through other modes. The effect was applied immediately to the selected object, allowing for a fast visual preview of all blending options.Current State:
This functionality is broken.
Clicking a Blend Mode and using arrow keys often moves the object on the canvas instead of…1 vote -
Organize styles (any type: paragraph, character, objects, ...) like a PRO
How WONDERFULL would be to have the possibility of AUTOMATICALLY order styles. How? I wish InDesign would assign automatic cascading numbering to folders and the paragraph styles that it contains.
[I've attached an image example.]
The idea would be that each generated folder would have an automatic number (based on its order in the window): 01, 02, 03, ...; and the paragraph styles within that folder would have that same numbering: 01.00, 02.00, 03.00, ...
When adding subfolders to the main folder, the numbering would continue: 01.01., 01.02., 01.03, ...; and the styles within those subfolders would also have that…1 vote -
Feature request: one-click document sanitize / rebuild
Hello,
I’d like to submit a feature request based on a recurring issue we see in long-living editorial InDesign documents.
In some INDD files, font changes become impossible even though the UI accepts the change — the document internally reverts it due to broken or legacy font/style references. This typically happens after documents have passed through multiple InDesign versions, operating systems, or workflows (sometimes involving InCopy). At the moment, the only reliable fix is a full IDML round-trip, which effectively rebuilds the document and clears these ghost references.
It would be extremely helpful to have a built-in “document sanitize /…

File save revisions
I will explain with an example, I will be working on a design and saves it.
Later I modify the design and save it and the client tells me that the old design was better. Now my problem is returning to the last saved version.1 vote -

Native Support for Bibliographic Citations and Plugin Integration with Reference Managers (Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley, etc.)
Unlike Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign lacks built-in tools for managing bibliographic citations, in-text references, and automated bibliography generation. This is a major limitation for users creating academic papers, scientific publications, books, theses, or any long-form documents with sources.Currently, we rely on workarounds like:Drafting in Word with citation plugins (e.g., Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley), then placing static text into InDesign.
Third-party scripts (e.g., zot2indd for Zotero), which are unofficial and limited.Requested features:Native dynamic citation fields (similar to Word's References tab) for inserting in-text citations and auto-generating/updating a bibliography.
Official plugin/extension support or API integration for popular reference managers like Zotero, EndNote,…1 vote -
Table of Contents updates
When making changes in the TOC dialogue box, if you just press "OK", the changes are only made until you next update the TOC (why?? Where's the warning??!) It's intuitive to expect that pressing OK is updating the TOC style permanently.
Instead, you need to press "Save Style" & go through the process of overwriting the style. OK should automatically overwrite the style & then you "Save Style" if you want to create an alternate.
I had a large print job stuffed up because of this. I know that others have mentioned this (but I couldn't go through 57 pages…1 vote
