Easily Swap Color Themes
I often utilize the same template layouts across multiple brands and it would be a huge time-saver to be able to assign swatches from a color theme to the various objects, and have all the respective objects update when a new color theme is selected. So if I have Color 1, Color 2, Color 3, and then select a new color theme, the design could be updated as Color 1 -> Color 4, Color 2 -> Color 5, and so on.

Duplicate page along with new swatches
Would love it if i was able to duplicate a page along with its swatches and the new page would now be linked to the new color swatches. This way i could change all the colors on the page and it would only apply to that page.
Alternatively, perhaps i would be able to create new swatches from a page, and the page would now automatically be linked to the new swatches so i could globally change a color but only for that particular page (because it created and linked new swatches for the page).
I would love this please.

Update Pantone colour books in InDesign to match Illustrator
Update Pantone colour books in InDesign to match Illustrator. If it's in Illustrator why is it not in InDesign?
Or is it a bug? Sorry, "feature"?4 votes -
Colour Themes for in-RIP separation
Not sure whether to post this as colours, printing or CC Libraries.... Perhaps all of them...
I print with in-RIP separations to match named colours in InDesign with the printer RIP to always receive accurate colours for comparing to customer colouring scales or calibrating new custom colours with a photo spectrometer. When creating a custom colour theme for a customer, I cannot do this because I cannot give each colour an individual name and as such I need to manually add every colour and rename them as needed.
I want to be able to rename a theme called X with…

Spot color overprint per default
It would be great to have a way to generally overprint a spot color in the whole Indesign document.

New object remembers previous object's settings
In Illustrator, if you draw an (for example) orange rectangle with a 5pt outline, the next object you draw will have the same settings. How do I do this in Indesign? Each new object I draw in Insdesign defaults to the same basic setting, and does not remember what I previously drew. Your Support people tell me this is not possible. Please add this feature to a new release, as the default. (And, yes, I know about styles, that's too long-winded as I might just need to draw a dozen orange boxes once).

Color Picker Shortcut
There are a bunch of ways to select color in InDesign, but the easiest and omnipotent way is using color picker, unfortunately, there's no way to call it out in Indesign unless you double-click the fill/stroke icon in the tools panel
and theres no way to add a customised shortcut to the color picker panel as well. I really wish to see this feature in future InDesign

ID - Lock option - color fields / color groups
Hey there,
i wish i could lock color fields / color groups to prevent any resulting sources of error.
For example a fixed logo color which shouldn't be different.
Kind regards and big thanks!

Appearance Panel in Properties window
In the properties window, every-time I open the fill in the appearance panel I have to open any swatch folders, it would be good if it remembered which folders were open so I don't have to open each time. Also, would be handy to have the switch from Text to Frame as icons to the left of that panel, then it's just one selection rather than two.

Make Color Books available under Window menu, like in Illustrator
I can no longer view Window > Swatch Library > Color Books. This now missing function allowed me to view/choose Pantone and other color books PLUS opened a window with all the swatches at once, just like Illustrator does.
Please reinstate this feature! of viewing the color book swatches arrayed in rows/columns in a scrolling window. See attached screenshot for how it used to look (matches how it works in Illustrator).1 vote -
Color management application Adobe CC 2019
Application CC 2019, Indesign, Illustrator, Bridge can not synchronize color settings.
You can not save color settings in color management for individual applications.
After restarting the application, it is the default setting4 votes -
Color Swatches Menu too small and not resizable
In InDesign CC 2019 the Color Swatches Menu is too small and not resizable, like in CS6. It was very useful to resize the menu so not to have to scroll in a small window through the many colors of some projects.

Add a preference to have to toggle the checkbox default for "Name with Color Value"
Add a preference to the InDesign Preferences panel so that the checkbox default for Name with Color Value can be set. When creating a new swatch in a document, the default is for the checkbox to be on, but checking the box off changes the name to New Color Swatch. Fine if you're adding one color or many colors in a row, but if adding colors in new documents all the time, this gets annoying.

Conditional colours for chapters
When we work with chapters and styles, sometimes we have a different thematic colour by chapter. It would be very interesting to define one or several conditional chapter colours for a section. We define the "Conditional chapter colour" in styles and depending on the page, these colours change. So, there is no need to create multiple styles with same parameters but different colours within the document or there is no need to split the document to play with these different parameters. Everything is in the same document and it is easier if we need to change the colour palette.

PLEASE!!!! The most powerful design app in the world, and after all these years STILL no HSB in the color picker.
Hue, saturation and value are by far the best ways to create and use color, in nearly anything. All of the other color selections/spaces (CMYK, RGB, LAB, etc) should flow from there, secondarily. Illustrator and Photoshop have always supported HSB(V), and yet as amazing a design tool as InDesign is – it still doesn't. Many of us have been asking for years, and I'm surprised that there aren't more requests ... I think many of us have given up. You can do it, Adobe! You would make a lot of designers very happy, and add a very powerful missing feature…

Load multiple swatches
The lack of ability to load multiple swatches in one go in Indesign is frustrating. Having to do it one at a time is counter intuitive and time consuming.

Searchable colors
I think it would be beneficial to have searchable color names in the swatches - so if I were to be replacing one color with another, I could type the name of the color I am looking to replace. to narrow down my search.
