Non-transparant inks
We, a printshop using offset and digital (HP-Indigo) presses, are using non-transpartant spot-colors like White or Foil. Indesign handles spot-colors as transparant. For normal inks, this is OK, but not for those mentioned, since these are opaque. I know the overprint-attribute does something almost similar, but it's not exactly the same.
So i need an option to define a spotcolor as 'Non-Transparent'.
It seems to me that for screen-printing this would also be a valuable option.

PMS are REQUIRED FOR SPOT PRINT JOBS!!!!!
When is this essential requirement going to be addressed???????
This is not something to "consider" as a feature request. It is an essential aspect of PRINT design and technology and needs to be accessible in Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.5 votes -
Colours /Swatches Problem
There is big problem in InDesign for colours, because not every one remember different type of CMYK property .
Just take an idea so you can understand [ When you draw a owl in illustrator, so you have a lot of colours options to change by using colour helper or if need then add from swatches, it's that easy, but in InDesign that's very hard to that, because if you have to change colour then first you have to know that colours CMYK property, then you can add into swatches then you can use that colour. So that's the big…1 vote -
Make colour space CMYK not RGB!
Since InDesign is used for printing out things, having the option to change the colour space from RGB to CMYK would be great, as trying to select a colour using colours that aren't in the CMYK gamut is annoying as heck

Make gradients faster
- Sélect Colors or frame Colors (2 or more if it's possible)
- Right clic or using shortcuts
- Made the gradient directly in the swatches or in a Group
- The gradient is made in order the colors are selected
I think this feature can save time and made easier the way to do gradients

Colour picker
Bring back the old Eyedropper tool, or make it an option.. The RGB one is pretty useless when working in print.

Variable Spot Colors from Illustrator Definable in InDesign
The ability to create a vector graphic in Illustrator, fill it with a variable spot color swatch (ie "Variable Color 1/2/3" etc.) and then when that spot color is imported into InDesign you can define it to match your project. Ideally on a per-instance basis, but even just editing the color globally from the swatches panel would be a big help. It would save hiving to make multiple versions of a graphic for each color you need - and that you may never need again.
For now my workaround is to make a layered PDF from Illustrator with a layer…

Merge variables for color that can be used in styles and as swatches
Merge doc variables for colour.
An option on the colour swatch to add a reference to link to a merged variable from a csv for a hex, rgb or cmyk colour. This would allow specific swatches to update styles in a document for text color, lines, background colors etc if a document defined style uses that particular swatch.

gradient improvements when clicking on single color
On gradient palette, it could be useful to double double clicking on a pattern to change its color with a popup. Something like Illustrator or Photoshop

Reopen color theme floating palettes
I have a workbook/training document that has sections, and each section uses a different color scheme. I used the Color Theme tool to create the different color themes for the various sections. But with each new theme, I lost the preceding floating palette. It would be so helpful to be able to reopen a color theme floating palette that is based on a theme you saved in the Swatches panel. It would be more convenient to drag the floating palette around the screen (near to the objects where you want to apply fill or stroke) than to have to undock,…

Hex colors please!
Really would like to be able to use HEX numbers for colors. I know InDesign is primarily for print, but some of us want to move our digital teams completely over to CC, and being able to use InDesign for digital work would be great...

Replace white background color with transparency
Quark X Press is able to replace the white background color of a placed TIFF image with transparency - this is the only feature I miss in InDesign.

Go to Source of Color
I would like to go to objects linked to a particular swatch; similar to how you list objects in the Links panel and go to them with the GoTo icon at the bottom. Might be too lengthy to list connected type, but would come in handy for vector objects.

Live color update when using color picker on a fill
When an object that can be filled is selected i can't use the color picker to see a new color without clicking OK repeatedly to see how it looks. Why can't it update in real time?

Picking colours from swatches for gradients
I find it a little tedious when doing gradients that you have to manually enter in the values of the colours even if they're in your swatches. You can add to your swatches from what you're making but you can't just quickly drop a swatch in as a gradient value. Just a bit of a pain when you're trying to work quickly
