Make embedded video readable in Adobe Reader as before
For many years InDesign has given us the feature to embed video in PDFs. We built a business round this format. Now, with the demise of Flash Player, all our ebooks with embedded video (not Flash content) are not usable by the customers who have bought them over past years, all round the world. We pay no small sum to use InDesign and CS. You have given us this format, which still exists, yet you won't update Adobe Reader with a media player to play the resulting files. How difficult can this be? Other formats exist, yes, but none of…

Add interactive feature back to buttons when converting to PDF
It used to be that buttons were able to be interactive when exporting an InDesign design to PDF, which was especially essential when prompting readers to turn to the "next" or "previous" page. Why does it default to making them a) invisible and b) not interactive? The functionality is still there for hyperlinks, but only after you select them to be, which is also a contradictory default. If I add a hyperlink, clearly I want someone to click on it. Seems like we went back a step in functionality after the latest upgrade.

Export of selection of pages could be easier...
It would be great to just select pages in the pages-window and then automatically have them selected with their page numbers in the export-toolbox.

set order of buttons in interactive PDF
We want to create interactive PDFs in InDesign. But we don't have control of the order in which the tab button takes the user from field to field. Please add that option.

Ability to skip certain spot colours while export in ink manager
I often use artificial spot colors to mark some special post processes like UV-lacquering, embossing, etc. But I definitely don't need these colors on preview/revision versions of a document. Now I must export pdf and then remove those channels in Acrobat.
I'd be very happy to see the option "IGNORE" or "SKIP" in the ink manager for each (at least spot) ink.3 votes -
interactive pdf with slug area
Can you include a slug area for sign off on an interactive pdf. Ive seen this in searches so many time and would really help with workflow and approval processes

Automatic back-linking to endnote source in text
At the moment, endnotes in exported pdfs are hyperlinked to the endnote page, but there is no "round-trip" backlink from the endnote entry number back to the point of origin in text - as there is in exported epub documents.
This would be a very useful feature!2 votes -
When creating hypertext links, please add the ability to configure the link to open in a new browser window.
Many of the PDFs I create are opened and viewed via Web browser. It's annoying to the user -- and takes them away from our content -- when they click on a link and the link opens in the same browser tab.

Please add automated color bar, separation color information - Print PDF export
Hi! I am missing a choice in PDF export. In the print industry is needed to add colour information for the customer, what colours is the artwork made from - esp. when we use solid colours. Customers need this for the approval process so we have to add this colour-bar manually. In the PDF (composite PDF) window there are Marks and Bleed choices, but there is missing a choice to choose a colour information automatically generated from the document colours - separations. The colour information can be graphical (squares with separation names) or text based (separation name in that colour).…

Option to export to multiple places
I'd love to be able to chose multiple locations for a file to be exported to. It could work similarly to the export options in Lightroom Classic or the way you can export artboards or assets in Illustrator.
I frequently have to export a file in more than one format and in more than one place, so this would save me the time it takes and the brain spaces required for me to remember to do it.
Thanks!

InDesign to create powerfull presentations
InDesign should compite with Keynote/powerpoint, or make it easier to export from indesign to those apps.
Animated stuff is actually a need to communicate. Most of us prefer InDesign to create presentations, beacuse you can get a much bigger detail of design, than in powerpoint or keynote.
The point is that the combination of InDesign/PDF give you some limits that can be done in keynote/PP. That is a pain point for me. As a solution,
1. this combination should compite those apps with the same features
2. Having an adobe software to presentations, but we still need a format (pdf)…3 votes -
Make the Set Tab Order... panel resizable and interactive elements be allowed to be grouped into Sets
Make the Set Tab Order... panel resizable. When there are numerous interactive elements on a page, the tiny Set Tab Order panel is cumbersome to use. Make it re-sizable for convenience. Also interactive elements should also be able to be grouped into Sets in the Set Tab Order panel for easy sorting.

Make layered PDFs Illustrator compatible
Currently, layers made from PDF exported in InDesign are not preserved when the PDF is opened in Illustrator. Would be real helpful if they were.

Have the ability to format text boxes with date, time, currency, etc. Also ability to format buttons (save)
Because I use a template to make multiple copies of a personalized document/form. I constantly have to go into the PDF after each export to format fillable text boxes with the date format, currency format, etc. The same goes for the buttons. I have multiple save buttons as well as send form buttons that I have to "reprogram" each time I change the source InDesign file. It seems to be something that should be handled in the InDesign file. If you can choose Print why not Save?

Automatically convert table cells to fillable forms for PDF
Currently, as far as I know, adding fillable forms to a table requires drawing a text frame above each form. This is time consuming. It should be possible to create text fields from existing cells.

Allow interactive elements when exporting print pdf.
If anyone needs to create a template with bleeds and crops that can be filled out by another party and sent to print, they have to use PDF form fields which doesn't have a paste in place feature so the elements aren't shifting around a page. Also, if I have to make edits to the InDesign pdf, I have to copy, paste and rearrange the form elements over again.
