Adobe, please help save the planet by reducing paper waste. This small change of allowing a table rows to break across pages would go a long way towards reducing page count on printed our documents.

Update:
Good news. The problem goes away after you save all the files to the new version of InDesign.When opening files that were created in an older version of ID, you will see the following at the end of the filename in the tab “…[Converted]"
However, the documents aren't truly converted until you save it. The first time you hit Save, it will actually be doing a Save As and you should save over the top of the existing file. The same thing will happen when you save the book file.
Now, after the book and documents within the book are saved from the new version of ID, it will behave like it did before. You can use the book file to navigate to each document and it won’t open duplicates. At least that is the experience I am having so far today.

This option was updated in InDesign 20.0 version to match industry standards and stay consistent. We standardized this behavior to make workflows more predictable across products.
We know that changes can take some adjustment, and we appreciate the feedback we received. Over time, users have adapted to this new behavior, which helps us maintain consistency and avoid confusion in future workflows.

We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.
If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html )
Also, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :
- Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign crashed?
- Video recording of the crash
- Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, could you provide us with the document(s)/asset(s)? Please package the entire document (To package the document, choose File → Package…)

Adobe seems NOT to be environment friendly. They've had this issue of not allowing rows to break across pages for a decade or more which causes more pages needed than necessary. MS Word solved this issue. Why is Adobe ignoring it even though thousands have upvoted it on this post and other similar posts.
