We have recently started development work on Convert PDF to INDD. Going forward, we will keep adding more functionality and refining it.
The feature is available as a Beta feature in InDesign 19.5 Beta version, available via the CCD app.
Note: For now, it is available only when InDesign's install language is English (North America or International).
Please provide us feedback on this Beta feature. Looking forward to hearing your feedback.

An error occurred while saving the comment James Riddles commentedI actually disagree with this request. I have very specific reasons for wanting to have some documents in Inches and others in Points. I work with W2P (Web to Print) systems and for the templates there are times that I require the measurements in Points for that system, but I don't design in points, I design in Inches. Therefore, when I am working on the "tagged" version of the file, I change the units to points, and move the point of origin to the bottom left, per the PDF standard. Perhaps an additional checkbox in the preferences area to override document settings, or as NEU! has commented, separate preferences for Doc and App.

The feature to “Preserve Filename on PDF Export” was introduced in InDesign 2019 in the PDF Export dialog.
The option is called “Use InDesign Document Name as the Output Filename”.Marking this Feature Request as Completed.

Forgive me if I have misunderstood your request, but there is an option to crop to Bounding Box, Art, Crop, Trim, Bleed, and Media if you check Show Import Options, depending on the file chosen for import.
If you select a PDF to import, and have Show Import Options selected, it will give you options for Cropping. However, my testing with images does not show that, presumably because the image would not have the various boxes defined.
