Bullet/number markers included in adjacent hyperlinked text when exported as HTML
When exporting content containing bulleted/numbered lists to HTML (using the Bullets/Numbers: Convert to Text option in HTML Export Options), bulleted or numbered list item markers that are immediately followed by hyperlinked text get included with the text inside an <a /> tag. It would be more predictable (and easier to format with CSS) if the bullet/number markers remained outside of the <a /> tag.

menu size too small
The menu titles and every icon on indesign is far too small, could be that my laptop screen is high resolution so it thinks the screen is bigger than it is? it is frustratingly small.
1 voteWe have released InDesign 2022(v17.0.0.96) with “Scalable user interface” feature. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

Workfront Integration
I'm having an impossible time exporting PDFs from InDesign and uploading directly to Workfront using the Adobe Workfront Plug-in. No matter what settings I use, when I export directly to WF, the PDF is corrupt (images/text drops out, text frames duplicate on top of each other, etc.)...but when I export a PDF to a local folder, then upload that existing PDF using the WF Plug-in, the PDF is fine. See the examples below - the item on the left is the PDF output directly to WF, and the item on the right is output using the exact same settings, output to the desktop, then uploaded as a new proof version using the plug-in:
Workfront Support says it's an InDesign export issue, not a plug-in issue because we recently had a couple of files drop out images and text from print-ready PDFs. I question that response because those were isolated to a single user's files and used standard vendor presets that we have never had problems with before. In my testing, I have tried exporting different files from our server and from my local drive, I have tried all the default PDF export presets as well as custom presets, and in every case the PDF exported from the WF plug-in is more than 50% corrupt. Of course, we could export to folders and use the plug-in just to upload the PDFs but we do that already (create the PDFs and upload to WF) - the whole point of the plug-in is to streamline that process, but we can't do that unless the PDFs are clean, and they're not when we export/upload via the plug-in. I've also attached the PDFs - the "TEST" pdf is the one created straight from InDesign, then uploaded via the plug-in, the other is the pdf generated by the plug-in. I really appreciate any help I can get with this.

Bug: Cross-reference dialog, filter doesn't work
Latest ID 16.4, Windows 10
This bug is old, at least since the cross-ref dialog has been redesigned.
If you select a style on the left it would show you all text parts with that style on the right (see attached images).
Problem Nr. 1: that list on the right side is not alphabetically sorted and there is no way to get it sorted.
Problem Nr. 2: if you want to find a specific entry amongst the many you see you can either scroll through all of them or use the filter box, which doesn't work as expected. As you can see in the 1st image, there is an entry with "Wasser". When using the search box with "Wasser", nothing is filtered (2nd imagesLatest ID 16.4, Windows 10

Image mislocation (Myanmar, Khmer, Lao, Thai)
Image mislocation (Myanmar, Khmer, Lao, Thai)
In Myanmar (Burmese) Unicode, there is an error where the image overlaps the text.
In the example, the red box should not overlap the text.
For reference, Khmer, Lao, and Thai have the same problem.

Previous version’s book files not saving
Using InDesign 2022 Prerelease (17.0.0.96).
When I opened my Book file, created with the current released version (16.4.0.54), in this new version, it wouldn't let me hit ⌘S to save.
It keeps prompting me to save the file anew, as though it had just converted it fresh or created the Book.
The world is not going to stop revolving around its axis over this one, but it was disconcerting and annoying.

broken links from placed .docx file
When I place a .docx file into InDesign, any link that contains an anchor tag (like this-- .pdf#page=543) is removed. This happens even when I check to "Preserve Styles and Formatting..." from the import options popup.
Not only that, the linked text still shows hyperlink formatting, but when I highlight it to recreate the link, the "create new hyperlink" button in the hyperlink panel remains grayed out (removing the hyperlink style has no effect on this--I have to delete and then retype the text before it can be linked).
The only way I've found to get the links to import correctly is to convert the .docx to a .doc or .rtf file. Since pretty much everyone uses .docx now and there are other formatting issues to contend with when converting a text file, it would be helpful if all links would come over correctly when placing a .docx file.

Dragging the mouse to select text randomly moves the entire sheet
When dragging the mouse to select text in a text box it would sometimes move the entire page and pasteboard to the left or right when reaching the text box frame. This is a very old, extremely annoying behavior. It exists at least since CS4.
The biggest question: why does it move at all?1 vote -
Broken layout in review panel
Using InDesign 16.4 - Windows 10 21H1 19043.1237
The layout of the review panel is broken, apparently since the 16.4 update.
Clicking on a note sends all the content on the edge of the panel, hiding most of it (as shown on the attached image).
Changing the size of the panel (even slightly) puts everything back in place, but clicking again on a note breaks everything again. And so on.

Large Black Cursor only while working in inDesign?
The cursor is still not my default cursor, it is large and black and very annoying. I was wondering if anyone from Adobe has addressed this issue. I have looked at previous post and have not noticed anything that would change the cursor but only change the scaling of the entire program.

Share for Review Bugs
We recently piloted using the "Share for Review" feature and have encountered a number of issues. Any help to solve these issues would all me to use this feature.
-Login - a number of our pilot users had to log in twice in order to open the link (organizational accounts - one on firefox, one on chrome). Does anyone else see this issue? Are there any solutions?
-Comments seem to be organized by page by time comment was posted. This not like Adobe Acrobat which organizes comments by page by location on page the edit/comment exists (I believe it is top left to lower right). Is there a way to change the order of comments to align to the page rather than a timestamp?
-Disconnect Comments when strikethrough text is removed. I wish there was a way to retain some connection to the page/rough location of the text where the strikethrough/comment was originally located.
-Infinite Loop of page scrolling - this is documented as an issue somewhere else so I know this is being looked at.Thank you!
Thank you

Adding anchored frame to the text corrupts the text
Hello there,
We have noticed this problem while dealing with Arabic/Persian/Urdu text (regardless of the fonts used). English text works just fine.
When anchored framed is inserted, the vowels in the Arabic/Persian/Urdu text and sometimes evens the characters in the text shift. The foreign text is typically perfectly fine prior to inserting the anchored object however changes. See before and after examples:1 vote -

Preflight bug (?) non-proportional type scaling
Hi, I am working with InDesign version 16.4 and am currently experiencing a new strange 'problem': I am making a calender with on each second page a text frame with some text. Now I get 12 'non-proportional type scaling' warnings in the preflight panel for these frames, but when I look at the texts, no non-proportional scaling shows up in the character panel. I have never experienced this before. Can this be a bug?

Text frames in Object Libraries won't retain style settings
Version: InDesign, version 16.4 on Mac OS Big Sur, version 11.6
I am encountering an issue involving text frames that do not retain their object style settings when inserted and/or saved within object libraries. Font/paragraph styles are unaffected, but object style attributes such as vertical justification, text wrap, fill, stroke and inset spacing are all lost (revert to defaults) upon being added to the library. The same is true for settings made while editing the library items directly.
This problem only involves individual text frames, and does not seem to affect any other type of graphic added to the library (including image frames and text frames that have been grouped with other objects), which do hold onto their settings as expected.
Steps to reproduce the issue: (Specific settings listed are not necessary to reproduce the problem, but are provided to show each of the different settings)
1. Create new object library
2. In new document, draw in text frame with sample text.
3. In Properties, set Fill to any color; In Text Wrap, set to "Wrap Around Bounding Box"; In Text Frame Options, set vertical justification to bottom, and inset spacing to any value.
4. Insert text frame into the new library (all object settings listed in step 3 will have reverted to defaults, leaving the text frame that was just inserted into the library as it appeared after step 2).
5. Double click on the item within the library to open for editing, and re-apply all the object settings listed in step 3. Save and close. (All object settings will again revert to defaults, leaving the text frame exactly as it appeared after step 2).Expected result: The text frame, upon being inserted into the library, should retain all of its settings and appear exactly as it did originally.
Actual result: While paragraph styles are unaffected, object style settings including fill, stroke, vertical justification, inset spacing and text wrap all revert to defaults.

1 voteAfter setting the desired properties for the Text Frame, select the text frame object and in the CC Libraries panel, click on the ‘+’ icon at the bottom of the panel – here you will see various options like Fill color, Text, Character style, Paragraph style, and Graphic.
You can also choose to Add all.
Choosing ‘Add all’ will add separate items in the CC Libraries – you will find Fill color, Text, any Char/Para style, and a Graphic. Use any of these according to your needs.Hope it helps.
