1. Add attributes of currently selected text or object to the "Find/Replace" dialog

   Here's an idea. It would be cool if the attributes of whatever you currently have selected, be it text or an object, could be quickly added to the Find/Replace dialog as your "search" terms. That way you don't have to go through and find all the attributes you want to search for, you could just select something that already has those attributes applied and then search. For instance, if you selected text that was bold italic, red, and 12 pt of a certain font and paragraph style, then those attributes could be loaded in the search box instead of having to input each of those to find all text that has those same attributes.

2. Find/Change bug in Indesign 13.1.1

   Text Find/Change seems to have a bug: let's suppose we have 2 paragraph styles, for example a title style and a body text style. In the document I received from our partner sometimes the body paragraphs wear the title style and they were manually overridden to look like the body style. To fix this error I tried to search for texts that has the title style but the font used is that of the body style. Indesign Finds something at the beginning of the body paragraph (a thin cursor-like thing can be seen there: it is the selected something) that is - as Indesign states - of the title style. But as you can see on the screenshot it is definitely not of the title style.

   In grep Find/Change the problem doesn't exist.

3. I use Indesign 14.0.1 English (hebrew supported). The change character direction is missing

   I need the feature that was previously available: to adjust / change character direction. For example changing the direction of a hyphen from left to right to the oppoisite (right to left). It was availbe up till now. Where did it go?
   In addition, the special ME characters are absent.

4. TIFF images as assets in CC Libraries are always placed as PNG images on the document page

   1. Affected: InDesign CC all versions that are working with CC Libraries.
      Tested with InDesign CC 2018.1 and InDesign CC 2019 version 14.0.2.324 on Windows 10. InDesign versions on Mac OS X are also reported.

   2. Steps to reproduce the issue:
      Do a new CC Library.
      Add TIFF images saved from PhotoShop CC 2019 to the new library.
      Two options how you can do this that I know of:
      A. Drag the files from your file system to the open and empty library.
      B. Use Adobe Bridge CC 2019 to drag files to the open library.

   3. Expected result:
      If I want to use an image TIFF asset in my layout and place it on the page from a CC Library the placed image should show up as TIFF image with all the right properties, like the right color space, original resolution etc.pp.

   4. Actual result:
      The placed TIFF is converted to PNG, color space is always RGB, regradless of the original. Always indicating transparency. Even if the original file stored in the CC Library has no transparency at all.

   Menu for formatting Table 'alternate row' shading, doesn't make sense — it gives options for 'Every other row' and 'Every second row'. To me those are redundant.

6. DataMerge facing pages odd disposition

   Indesign 2019 14.0.2 x64 on Windows 10
   I have created a data merge document that uses a facing pages master. My document before DataMerge only has one page. When the document is created only right pages are created, but the spread come back to facing pages if I add a second layout or if I toggle "allow selected spreads to shuffle" off and on again.
   If my model has two pages, the document after DataMerge creates a list single right and left pages alternated untill you change the layout or toggle shuffle.
   I think that it should be a spread of continuos facing pages from the beginning.

7. Ctrl + Tab Keyboard Shortcut Bug

   I tried to assign "Ctrl"+"Tab" to "Window Next" (to get the same shortcut as OS-default) but Indesign seems not to do anything when hitting this shortcut. When assigning other shortcuts to the same action it works.

8. Indesign CC 2015

   When editiing text and applying styles using the eyedropper tools some users in my production team are using the colour theme tool by accident.

   This is then applying the rich black colour swatch to pages that should only be using true black. Can you change the default colour to true black or allow the default colour to be changed.

   Alternatively could you add a feature to customise the toolbar so you can remove/add tools that you want.

9. Variable chapter number

   The variable 'chapter number' gives a problem, wherever it is used it is represented as '1'.
   Because chapter numbers and paragraph numbers are not included in the Continuous header, it is useful if it can be displayed separately.
   Is it possible to include this numbering in the variable in the future (as an option)?

10. Can't press 'Done' in Adobe Comp after adding columns and guides

    If I go to settings, add guides, I will not be able to get out of the settings as the done button does not work

    Worked with support and they are saying it is not a bug, but offered no further steps other than posting here

11. Inaccessible URL Link in preflight panel

    Inaccessible URL link option in Preflight panel is not working after implementing Adobe CC version. It was working in CS5 but in all CC version still CC 2019 is not working.

    For Digital purpose we need this option. I attached screen shot for your reference

    In the attached screen shot there is one dead link it shows red color in Hyperlink window, but the indesign preflight panel shows No Error. If its working properly mean it need to be show error

12. Text blue highlights in Screen Mode "Normal" view

    Using iMac 2013 with High Sierra 10.13.6
    InDesign CS 2019 up-to-date 14.0.2

    In View drop-down menu, Screen Mode "Normal" selection, blue boxes appear over some text and behind some text boxes. It is intermittent, no real common denominator. It disappears when Screen Mode "Preview" is selected.

13. Некорректно работает пробная версия

    При запуске Indesign вылазит окошко с активацией пробной 7-дневной версии, после ее активации данное окно не пропадает и появляется на экране каждые 10 секунд. Что-либо редактировать в файле не получается. Помимо этого это окно с активацией еще и тормозит, какой смысл давать пользоваться демо-версией 7 дней, если она работает неправильно?

14. InDesign-window "Missing Links in document" does not appear when Microsoft DFS-Links not available

    SITUATION
    We migrated our old Active Directory "OldAD.ads" to a complete new one "NewAD.ads"
    We use InDesign CC2019 (latest Version)

    All out file-shares are mounted on client computers with Microsoft DFS-Links.
    - Old DFS-Link: \OldAD\DFS\OldShare - The DFS-Links points to a share on our old fileserver: \OldFileServer.OldAD.ads\Share_OLD
    All shares on the old fileserver are closed, so the DFS-Links have no destination but are still "available".

    • New DFS-Link: \NewAD\DFS\NewShare - The DFS-Links points to a share on our new fileserver: \NewFileServer.NewAD.ads\Share_NEW

    Both fileservers hold "their" (Active Directory based) DFS-structure.

    Of course, all users open their files on the new fileserver, shares are mounted via the new DFS-structure.

    THE REAL STRANGE ERROR
    As long as the old fileserver and old Domaincontroller are up, InDesign acts as expected: We open an old document, the windows "missing links in document" comes up, we fix the broken links, the document opens, everything is fine.

    BUT when I shut down the fileserver and the last domaincontroller, the following happens: We open an old document (containing links to documents, that were on shares mounted via the old DFS on our old fileserver), InDesign freezes and the mouse pointer circles. I waited up to 30 minutes, nothing happened. And now comes the really strange thing: When I unplug the network cable (no joke), the "missing links in document"-windows comes to front and I can fix the broken links after plugging in the cable again.
    When I turn on the old fileserver and domaincontroller again, everything works fine again.

    I can reproduce this error on all our 4 InDesign-workstations. The error only appears when the broken path contains a DFS-Link and the link is not available any more - no matter if the "real" share behind the link is available or not.
    The InDesign option "Ignore missing links when opening a document" does not affect the error, it happens when the option is set or not.

    SITUATION

15. panels / windows won't open, InDesign doesn't launch 80% of the time

    Honestly wasn't sure what to file this under. I am running the latest version of InDesign (version 14.0.2). About 4/5 times when I click to launch InDesign, it bounces for several minutes and then nothing happens... and then it stops bouncing and the dot under the app also goes away, yet the app says its open - still no windows. Eventually - usually after about 10-15 minutes of waiting - I have to right click, quit, and start again.

    But this is the part that really bothers me: When it finally does open properly and loads a document, many of the panels just will not open even after I select them from the menu. Most of the time I can't open any windows or panels within the app. And I NEED to be able to open the glyphs and corner options panels, but I haven't been able to open them for over a month, and I use this program on a nearly daily basis. Additionally, the color picker tool within the color popup does not work, but the regular tool within the toolbar does. I also have issues with the align and distribute options appearing and disappearing from the top bar. The options disappear after selecting an object, changing windows or navigating to a different app momentarily, and they will not reappear unless I click the gear icon of the panel and confirm the options again. Sometimes this doesn't work and then I have to quit and reopen the whole thing again.

    I'm running Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6. I am going to have to uninstall and rollback to the 13.1 version of InDesign for now because I have clients waiting and I need to turn stuff over faster, but if more information is needed I can reinstall. Never had this issue in the 2018 version, but it's been a regular occurrence in the past few updates.

    Could you please try reinstalling InDesign application after clearing up(or renaming) your preferences and cache for InDesign 2019(14.0).

17. Not able to create new guides

    I am seeing many issues with the new updated InDesign - it seems a lot of the issues are solved if you have no browsers open. But let's be honest that is ridiculous! First I was not able to scale items proportionately while holding down the shift key. Now I can't create new guides, however the minute I close out all my browsers this functionality begins to work.

    Please fix the many conflicts between INDD and the web browsers. I am on a MacBook Pro using High Sierra. The conflicts appear when either Chrome or FireFox are open. I need to be able to use my CC programs along with my browsers at the same time - hope these issues can be resolved quickly.

18. Anchored Object Lock/Prevent Manual Position Override

    The Prevent Manual Positioning creates a Locked Object, but unlocking the widget doesn't remove the Prevent manual override.

    When you check to "Prevent Manual Override" an anchored object receives a lock adornment. An object Style can be created from this object. If that lock is unlocked the Object style shows as override, but the "Prevent Manual Override" is still checked.

    If the object style is redefined. The lock adornment is still unlocked, and the "Prevent Manual Positioning" is still checked. Reapplying the style locks the object.

    There should be more consistent behaviour of "Prevent Manual Positioning" and the "Lock". Even though they are similar they are not the same. If checking "Prevent Manual Positioning" activates the Lock. Unlocking should also uncheck "Prevent Manual Positioning".

19. InDesign 2019 is not finding missing fonts - preflight does not find it and "Find Font" either, but discovered it with Flattening a PDF

    InDesign 2019 on MacBook Pro 10.14.3 - "Find Missing Font" is not working. It said all was good. Even the Preflight (with Font Missing checked) said all was error free. But when I exported the file to a pdf and ran the flattening feature, it found the 2 missing fonts--both were TTFs. So I went back to Font Book to add those fonts. All was fine then, but why didn't InDesign tell me there were missing fonts?

20. Stroke on outside of shape breaks for compound paths

    This bug has existed for some time and is still in InDesign 14.0.1.209 for Macintosh.

    A stoke aligned to the outside of a compound path is on the outside of the outer paths, but on the inside of the inner paths. The attached image shows a stroke on the outside of text, as it should appear, and on the outside of the same text converted to paths. The stroke on the counters of A, O, and R is on the wrong side of the path.
