  2. Windows are blank in Indesign

    I'm having a problem with inDesign 17.4. My windows appear black. The only way to fix this problem is to trash my preferences daily. Can you help me fix this bug thank you

  3. Rulers exceeding text boundaries, only paragraph shading or offsets seem to be able to limit them

    The issue is described in this thread (sample .INDD file link included in the thread to reproduce the issue):

    The excess rulers that go beyond the text boundary can only be removed (or masked, not sure which is actually happening) with paragraph shading.

    As a rule, rulers should not go beyond the text boundary, and they should adapt to the text boundary (if font size have been changed, or if other changes have been made that affect the layout).

    But the green arrows show that in some cases the boundary is correct.

    It shouldn't be necessary to add both…

  6. 17.4 hangs opening files

    Updated to 17.4 to benefit from purported improvement on ID hang on files with missing fonts. Now opening any file causes a hang.

    Console posts "nwsockethandlesocketevent <private> Socket SO_ERROR [61: Connection refused]" message for ID (where it joins the steady stream of error messages for Illustrator)

  7. InDesign Window Moves Slightly Offscreen (So I Can't Adjust Window Size) When Plugged Into External QHD Display

    I'm using a 14" M1 Pro Macbook Pro, and when plugging into an external display (QHD), Indesign's top window moves slightly offscreen (see attached picture). Goes away when I unplug the display, but quite annoying to have to remember to resize the window before plugging it into a display since I can't resize the window another way without that top bar accessible.

  8. Crash after sleep mode external drive OS X - lost network vonnection (Indesign only!)

    After getting awake from sleep mode Indesign will constantly (and only Indesign!) crash because of a lost network connection!

  9. Space Bar Shortcut for Hand Tool frequently stops working (MacOS)

    About once a week I find that the hand tool shortcut stops working.
    Restarting InDesign doesn't resolve the issue, however restarting the computer does.

    Space bar continues to work in all other capacities (including as a spacebar, as I'm experiencing the bug right now and yet still able to add spaces into this text box)

    macOS Big Sur 11.6.7
    (Not updating to Monterey due to cloud services bugs in the operating system)

    When trying to edit text that has review comment text attached to it, InDesign will not stay zoomed in, and will automatically revert to 100% scale.

  11. All adobe apps temporarily freeze when another adobe app is saving.

    I've noticed this since the last update. When InDesign is saving, all other Adobe apps temporarily freeze until InDesign completes saving. Not a problem most of the time for quick saving documents, but for larger projects like catalogs, I can be stuck for 5-10 minutes until INDD completes saving.

  12. Page display distortion – psychedelic patterns

    Page distortion when editing or resizing. Usual clears when changing pages or screen magnification. Becoming more frequent with version 17.3, using macOS 12.4.

  13. InDesign display shift problems

    1. Version: InD 17.3 x64, in Windows 10 Enterprise, Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-10885M CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz, 128GB RAM. I'm halfway wondering if having the system's display scaling set to 125% is disagreeing with the InD app....
    2. Steps causing issue: Make edits on a page with text frames and placed graphics.
    3. Expectation: Layout items render normally.
    4. Result: Sections of layout display shift by several pixels, creating broken display of layout. Uploading mild examples (part of top edge of graphic has shifted; section of edges of frames has shifted). Often lines of text are half cut off by the effect. Can happen…

    DEAR ADOBE!
    I have a problem with Indesign that can not display images in high-resolution-mode.
    All pictures turn black and striped. The problem started after upgrading to Monteray 12.4
    I have already been in contact with your support via chat for two hours.
    It looked promising, but when they then restarted my computer via remote control,
    I lost contact with you and have not been able to give feedback since.
    I am VERY disappointed and want help with this as soon as possible with someone who speaks
    Swedish. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE / MARIA

  16. InDesign running very slow while using Google Drive on macOS Monterey

    I am using InDesign CC 2022 (v17.3.0.61 Apple Silicon supported) with Google Drive for desktop (59.0.3.0 Apple Silicon supported) on a MacBook Air (M1, 2020) and macOS Monterey 12.4 (21F79).

    Google Drive uses the File Provider API supported by macOS Monterey 12.3 and later, but when the CPU usage of the macOS fileproviderd process increases, InDesign runs very slowly. Even mouse clicks on objects, menus, panels, etc. take tens of seconds from input to acceptance.

    When the Google Drive file sync completes or pause, InDesign returns to its original behavior a short time later as the load on the fileproviderd…

  17. InDesign responsiveness is very slow

    All the adobe apps are working fine aside from InDesign. It keeps on crashing when I am working and when it is not, the response is so slow. Tried to re-install but did not really help at all.

  18. Parent page issues Indesign 2022

    Indesign 17.3
    Mac OS 12.4

    Facing page document using 4 parent pages. All pages become left pages when converting to single pages. This has never happened in over 20 years of working in Indesign.

  19. Arabic Support Was Suddenly Removed

    My default install language is English with Arabic support. InDesign was working normally until I changed a preference setting (disabled Hindi Digits) in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. It was the only change I recently made to any Adobe-related app. I had to reinstall the app to fix the issue.

  20. "O" button popup is blocking use of small text box anchorpoint.

    This problem happens when attempting to resize small rectangle text boxes (smaller than .9") with the bottom/center anchorpoint. When clicking directly on the anchorpoint, instead of being able to drag it up or down to resize, a small pop-up box appears by the "O" symbol that has a check box for "All Small Caps." this disallows me to resize. I'm not clicking the "O." I'm clicking directly on the bottom/center anchorpoint.

    This problem affects my workflow every time I use Indesign. I have to instead use the top anchorpoint and reposition. Please reconfigure where the "O" button appears on a…

    In Preferences dialog > Advanced Type, there is an option at the bottom called 'Show Adornment...'


    Uncheck this option to stop showing "O" on selected Text Frame.
