Selection tool issue in the latest version of InDesign.
The selection tool now only works to change the size of boxes (text, images), it no longer lets you move the boxes around the page. To move boxes you know have to switch tools to the Free Transform Tool which makes everything more time consuming.

We have released InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) with a lot of stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.

modification date
This is so strange.. When I want to open a file in the window there is no date anymore. So how to see which file is the latest one you worked on? I resetted preferences, but still it only shows: name-size-kind-date added... And i can not find a way to get a view options panel for this. any help?

[BUG] [IND] [CC2021] Wrong language installed
With this message, I would like to report a bug.
The Creative Cloud desktop app installs the wrong language for Indesign. Default is set to English, but it installs Dutch.
Removing the older Indesign CC2020 and installing it again, it installs my default language (UK). For CC2021 it only installs Dutch. I'm using Os X 10.14.6.

Assigned character style is ignored when you generate index
If you manually assign certain Character Style to an index entry (for instance Bold) and the same index expression appears on the particular page more than once, Bold is often ignored when generating the index. It is properly generated only when the expression is the first one in the list.
If you assign style (Bold) to second or third appearance of the expression on a page and generate index, the character style is ignored.This feature is important. Certain index entries may be highlighted because the show page number of illustration, table, headline etc. So it is important to keep…

links are fuzzy
When I open an Indesign file in version 16.0 that was created in 15.1.2 the links are fuzzy on the screen. It does not, however, show that the links are missing.

Placing photo in frame
When I'm trying to place for example photo in frame (cmnd+D of File -> Place...) nothing won't happen. Just rolling the beach ball...

Arrange object after unhide
Using Adobe InDesign 15.0.1 x64 (CC 2020), after I unhid several linked image objects, I was unable to arrange those elements forward or backward to make it visible on top of other elements. The objects were not locked as I checked several times and even copying / pasting them would not allow me to rearrange them. Restarting solved the problem after I spent 20 minutes fighting with it.

Indesign crashes when changing Endnotes to footnotes
I just updated to the 2021 that is really amazing. Only bug i have i can t any more convert endnotes to footnotes InDesign crashes each time on both of my computers . I am on Window 10 No idea why before i could do it. Thanks a lot

Relinking / opening new documents window broken
When I try to relink or open a new document (anything that involves locating a file from my MAC) I can no longer select shortcuts from my sidebar. The folder icons are placeholder documents rather than folder icons. Clicking on them has no effect.

Spacing text is different in InDesign 2021
When opening a document in version 2021 which is created in 2020, the text looks exactly the same, but when you try to change the spacing of a word, the whole alinea is recreating a whole new spacing. Looks like it has something to do with metric, but it's really annoying. Spacing one word means re-spacing the whole alinea. Anyone else experienced the same?

Just updated (16.0) and none of the quick keys work in InDesign 2021, anyone else have this?

InDeisign 16.0 is not exporting .pdf
I updated to the newest version on InDesign. Now I am trying to export my magazine for print - the blue circle in the upper right just keeps spinning and the background tasks menu just stays at 0%

Adobe InDesign 15.1.2.: when I try to open a ID file, an "Open a document" alert appears.
Fix or delete that bug.

I've had to renter my pasword and code from text 6x in the last 2 1/2 hours. How is anybody supposed to get any work done when updating apps
Why is updating apps such a pain in the butt!!!!
Had to log into a different ID to get past supposed firewall issues and then had to keep using password and code sent to text on my phone every time I opened an app.

resize group is copying the group
With the new CC2021 I have a group of objects. Trying to resize them not only resizes them but copies the entire group leaving the old group in place!
