[ID-4281542]Unable to move multiple objects when selecting image frames
With the latest version of Indesign (21.4) I can't move multiple image frames any more unless I group them. This also applies when selecting an image frame and graphic elements such as rectangles or text frames, everything else deselects and stays put with the image moving. Except when I click and drag on the non image frame of the selection, then everything works as it should. Can you please fix this as it is highly annoying.
Mac OS 26.5, Indesign 21.4
Workaround:
- Holding the Shift key while dragging allows the entire selection to move correctly.
- Rolling back from InDesign 21.4 to InDesign 21.3 resolves the issue.
InDesign 21.4.1, which includes the fix, is now live.
The update should be available in the Creative Cloud app. If you do not see it yet, please click “Check for Updates” to refresh the available updates.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked to resolve this issue.

Currently when I try to select multiple items, like a photo and a text box, and try to drag both, it only drags the first selected item. Anyone else experience this?

Seconding the comment that holding the shift key does NOT work as a workaround completely because you cannot select anything but a text box as a key object this way. It's been over a week, do you plan on fixing this major functionality yet?

This puts an absolute dead stop in my workflow. The inability to select a key object for alignment is insane. The "hold shift to move" doesn't solve this problem.

Also having the same issue. if you select multiple object in indesign and shift+click to deselect one object, it no longer works. it doesn't do anything. this is extremely frustrating!.

the latest update 21.4 makes Selection tool malfunction.
When click several objects and drag move only the object at the cursor moves, other selected objects stay still.
Need to group all objects before moving them together. -

It's a bug in v21.4, just downgrade to v21.3.

Is this BUG noticed yet because this seems a very fundamental quirk in the latest update.

Same here. For me it happens when clicking image object. It also makes 'Align to certain object' function impossible

I'm having the same issue and it's frustrating as ****. The only workaround I've found is to group the objects after selecting and then moving them.
I'm also experiencing another (probably related) issue - when I select multiple objects and attempt to nominate the key object by clicking on the relevant object, it drops all other items. I can access 'key objects' from the alignment panel, and so far it's worked okay-ish but I can't designate the key object, it selects it automatically.

This bug is a MASSIVE issue that completely breaks InDesign for me. I am seriously unable to do my job because of the inability to select multiple objects and make one a key selection for precise alignment purposes. I will roll back to a previous version, but I am NOT updating until this has been resolved.
