InDesign 21.4.1, which includes the fix, is now live.
The update should be available in the Creative Cloud app. If you do not see it yet, please click “Check for Updates” to refresh the available updates.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked to resolve this issue.

Is this BUG noticed yet because this seems a very fundamental quirk in the latest update.

It has been fixed but…
If I have light mode in MacOS, but if I choose InDesign > preferences > color theme dark of mid-dark the issue remains. It should be dark in that instance too…An error occurred while saving the comment

At this moment the window bar is light, only when application frame is selected everything is darkened.

We've just released InDesign 17.2.1 version which addresses this issue.
Please update to this latest version using Creative Cloud Desktop application.
In case the fix does not work immediately for you, please try the following:
1) Quit InDesign.
2) Delete the following:
on Mac:
/Users/[yourname]/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign
/Users/[yourname]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
on Win:
C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign
C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign
Relaunch InDesign & see if it works properly now.

Adobe InDesign 17.2 / MacBook Pro M1 OSX 12.3.1 / FontXplorerX 7.3.0
When installing the appropriate plugins for auto-activation the fonts are not adequately activated and it takes a very long time to com to the error-popup.
When I uninstall the plugin and activate fonts manually (with FontXplorere) it all works as expected.
Please do not mention the Postscript type 1 fonts; I am aware of that issue. -

Dear All,
Now you can set fonts/typeface directly in InDesign while creating PDF forms. This feature is now available in latest InDesign CC version. Please upgrade to the latest release.
Thanks

+1 to the above.
Is is not acceptable that I cannot pepare a complete form in InDesign.
I make a form in InDesign only to alter/add functionality (formatting of fields like date/number/ etc) in Acrobat.
Only to find out I have to change all properties again when anything changed in the layout. What is also very annoying: all the different locations where I can find 'interactive panes' for instance setting tab-order is found under Object-interactive; where all other interactive panes are found under Window>interactive.
And speaking about the setting tabs panel: who has designed this one? Cannot change the size which makes rearranging very unproductive.
All in all it would be very helpful if there was a panel in Indesign where it would be possible to add all interactive elements in a well designed UI.
