[ID-4257733]The amount of “Indent to Here” in a paragraph with a “Text Wrap” object at the beginning of the line is wider than usual.
- Version of Adobe InDesign Windows CC2023-2024
- Steps to reproduce the issues Place an object with "Text Wrap" at the beginning of the line and insert "Indent to Here" in the paragraph.
- Expected result Wrap at "Indent to Here"
- Actual result A gap is created where the "Text Wrap" is added to the wrap of "Indent to Here".
I suspect that the issue mentioned in the post below may be related to it being fixed in 2023 (18.0).
https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/42200695-text-wrapping-has-changed-to-before-2019-use-textf
It was working normally until CC2022, but problems have been occurring since CC2023.
Explanation of the attached image
"Paragraph 1.: Indent to Here"
"Paragraph 2.: Normal Indent"

It seems that the following also has a similar problem.

This is an update following my previous post regarding the persistent "Text Wrapped object" error v20.2. Please find attached a PNG image illustrating that version 20.2 of Adobe InDesign has not resolved the spacing issue, even with free-flowing anchored tables:
Version of Adobe InDesign: 2025 v20.2, Mac OS 15.3.1
Steps to Reproduce the Issue: Insert an image into the text. For maintaining spatial proximity with other images on the same page and ensuring the image/table remains adjacent to specific text, anchor the image or table in-line or custom.
Expected Result: The ability to freely move or reposition the table/image anywhere on the page within the text, without overlaying or obscuring the text.
Actual Result: The "text wrap" spacing option fails to work for the text above the table/image, although it functions correctly for the text below.

While the "excessive indent spacing" below has been addressed, the issue of spacing above the "Text Wrapped object" persists,—the "text wrap" spacing option do not work.
The "text wrap" spacing options are ineffective. Consequently, there is too much space at the bottom, but no space at the top. This issue becomes particularly significant when you need to position an image precisely alongside specific text and maintain spatial proximity with other images on the same page.

Do you need an example of how to use the ‘Indent to Here’ feature? Should I explain this basic InDesign feature to you? Discussing the use of this feature is unnecessary. The real issue is the serious bug that's clearly present.

「ここまでインデント」機能の使い方についての例が必要ですか? この基本的なInDesignの機能を説明する必要がありますか? この機能の使い方について議論するのは不要です。問題は、明らかに重大なバグがあることです。 -

The “Bulleted List” feature is not in use. This is reporting that the behavior of the indent is strange when using “Indent to Here”.
「箇条書きリスト」機能は使用していません。これは「ここまでインデント」を使用した時にインデントの挙動がおかしいことを報告しています。

This is a bug that occurs when the feature "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" that was added in 2023 (v18) is turned ON.

これは2023(v18)で追加された機能「テキストの回り込み時にテキストのインデントを維持」をONにすると発生するバグです。 -

InDesign version 18.2.1, I searched but couldn't find the same issue anywhere else, so I report it here. Attached is a PDF file with the problem. Description is as follows.
There are 3 paragraphs of text, the middle one in black color to be clear. "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" is ON.
Needless to say that NO yellow frame has any runaround applied to it. They are there for illustrative purposes.
On the second (black text) paragraph, everything is just OK. The paragraph has a 20 mm left indent and the runaround of the red frame is 30 mm. All is working as it should.
But, on the 3rd paragraph, immediately before the bold-red-all_caps text in the first line, I have inserted and "indent-to-here" character, to which indent 30mm more of space is added due to the runaround of the frame and the option "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" turned ON. The lower part of the same paragraph (just after the yellow frame with 30mm in it) is correctly indented to the "indent-to-here" character, something that SHOULD have occured to the whole paragraph.
Thank you very much for reading,
Dimitris
