Undo Not Working properly in InDesign 2020
InDesign CC 2020 Undo goes back to last saved version. It does not go back one step with Command-Z. Therefore, I lose all edits made since last save. It also crashes frequently
The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – that is, InDesign 15.0.2.
Please update your InDesign application to get this fix.

i had the same problem, I lost a lot of work. I installed an older version of indesign. cmd z and undo work in version 15.0.1.
I am having the same issue and I am updated to 15.1.2!! So frustrating right now. Any suggestions?
We also have the same problem in our agency with the Indesign version 15.1.2. Using comand +Z the programm is jumping to the last saved step and it is not possible to go back for single steps!!!
We have 2 brand new iMacs. On one it works as ist schould, and on the other it doesn't!!!
We can't work with this programm on that station with this problem! Please fix it!!
This is not working in 15.1.2 -- please fix!!!!!!!
I am running into the same problem with version 15.1.2 Please fix!

I am using InDesign 15.0.2 and Command Z Undo still does not work. Irritating as ****. What's next? No cut and paste? Not acceptable at all.
I've tried "Anonymous" 11 May work around below and so far, so good (fingers crossed!)
OMG this has just started happening to me yesterday and today and I've lost hours of work!! Not acceptable especially when paying the subscription and everything is up to date. Not happy.
The same problem is back in InDesign 15.1.2
I have the most up to date version of indesign, just made a new file (the first time ive used this program in about a year) literally the first new file I made this happened about 3 hours into working. Seems like this has been an issue since 2010. Whats the point of this program existing if you can't save your work?
Same problem and I have the update. Really aggravated!
this has not been fixed in the latest version 15.1.1 x64 as of 14 August 2020

I'm too am having this issue. This needs to be fixed!
is adobe going to throw out a new update to fix the bug? im super annoyed with the fact I can't undo my stuffs.
Bug still exists in 188.8.131.52 - and no, I do not have Adobe World Composer set, so that's not the problem (or the workaround). I also have no apps with "secure text entry" as an option, and it is not turned on in the macOS 10.15.5 Terminal app.
How is it that this bug is back in 15.1? By my count, this same bug has been fixed at least twice already in the last few years.
******* indesign undo again
Oh I got it .
Thank you for the help!
Ok, for everyone who is having this issue, here are the steps I was given by Adobe Support to solve for it (for macOS users):
- Quit out of all Adobe programs and Creative Cloud
- With Finder active, use the top menu to select Go and choose "Go to Folder..."
- Enter "~/library"
- Go to Preferences > Adobe InDesign and rename the "Version <number>" folder and rename it to "Version.Old.2"
- Go back to the ~/library folder and go to Caches > Adobe InDesign, and rename the "Version <number>" folder to "Version.Old"
- Reopen InDesign. It will make a new Version folder in each of those locations automatically.
This will cause you to lose your preferences and Workspaces though. You can recover that information by copying the related files from the Version.Old2 folder in Preferences. For instance, I copied my Workspace files (<Workspace Name>_CurrentWorkspace.xml and <Workspace Name>.xml into the new Version folder and after restarting InDesign, the Workspace was back. Scripts and other folders are also inside that Preferences folder.
Give this a shot if you are having this issue. It worked for me, but if it doesn't work for you, you can always copy all of the files from the Version.Old2 and Version.Old folders, paste them into the new ones, and delete the old and it'll put everything back where it was.
Undo is now exhibiting this behavior for me. I've never seen this happen before, and it just started today. Not only is it reverting back to the last saved version when I undo, but if I redo, it doesn't even restore all of the changes I made, only some.
This has so far cost me about 45 minutes of work today alone. I'm really losing patience with Adobe products. InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop have been crashing multiple times each day for seemingly no reason, and so far Adobe's support has been abysmal and done next to nothing to help solve the issue. What am I paying for each month?
