Option dragging to duplicate an object has decided to stop working today and so has command space to flip to the zoom tool. Has there been an update that has screwed this up again??

I've just updated it myself and am having the same issue. And neither of my option buttons work, so it's not a keyboard issue. It only just started happening too. I think the last time I used it when it worked was last week.

Unfortunately, I am up to date with 18.3 and it is still doing it.

I'm facing the same problem, maybe it has something to do with the new microsoft's windows 11 update?

I have 17.4 installed and option+drag is not working for me. If it was fixed in 17.3, it's broken again.

Are you still still working to fix this issue, or did you just abandon it? Same problem in 2022.

Live screen drawing was implemented in CS2 when I looked it up. From that time on, the phenomenon that the option key did not respond had occurred.

At some point, the delay interval for live screen drawing may have been slightly reduced.

It's Feb 2021 and this is STILL not fixed?! What's going on?

still broken 15.1.2

I have 15.1.2 and still can't get option or alt drag duplicate to work.
It's got to be one of the most commonly used shortcuts for designers so I don't understand why it's brocken and wasn't picked up before release!
I've tried changing the Live Screen Drawing to never - didn't work. Also tried changing it to immediate (which I read somewhere else was a fix) - also didn't work.
Bloody frustrating - now thinking about uninstalling an re-installing a previous version (2019).

Has anyone else found a workaround that actually works?
I'm on a PC, Windows 10 OS, Indesign 15.1.2

UPDATE: I had a new computer and keyboard. For some reason the new keyboard was set-up for British configuration. I changed this to Australian preferences and voila - the alt / option drag is back! Hallelujah!!

Still NOT fixed in Version 15.1.1 on OSX 10.14.6 Mojave.

The way ALT has to be pressed BEFORE I select an object is totally nuts. Sorry. It used to work perfectly for decades, and it still works perfectly in any other application, even in Adobe apps like Illustrator, XD oder Photoshop. Why have you changed this intuitive behaviour to the bad? Years ago Adobe continously pointed out that all apps would work together seamlessly. Well, this lousy bug forces me to handle the exact same thing in InDesign in another way than in any other Adobe app. Really annoying. Please get this fixed soon!

Thank God it's not just me. I thought I was going mad. Please fix this ASAP, please. It makes me realise how much I use this functionality without even thinking about it.

Thank you, Ravi, even though I would like it to work with live screen drawing, at least now I can copy items properly again. Shows someone cares. It would be really helpful if you can ask your team not to try and break things that have worked for over 20 years consistently. Thanks

Please fix this, also drag with option key in Pages panel is not working properly anymore. IT USED TO WORK FINE!
