In InDesign CC 2019 slow Reaction Time on clicking from one object to another.
Using InDesign CC 14.0 on Windows 10. I have an magazine layout with text and picture boxes, of course. When clicking from one box to another, there is a long delay, a temporary freeze. Eventually (20-30 seconds) it awakens and I can move on. But it's happening more frequently, even after a reboot.
Is this an issue of my computer talking to Adobe servers?
Nothing to screen shot, there is no message.
Hello All,
Following up on the comments stating that the issue is yet not fixed, we did our investigation and found that, the issues being called out in the comment section, though maybe relevant but are different than the one for which this thread was originally created.
This particular thread caters to a very specific case which has been fixed in the last update of InDesign.

I upgraded my Mac system from a 2008 G5 with InDesign CS6 to a current iMac with Indesign CC and the beach ball is killing me. Can't be productive at all. Text, images and saving is very slow. Like others have said, I'm paying each month FOREVER. I'm not happy.

This is complete BS! I pay $65/month. I expect the programs as well as the updates to be relatively flawless. This has been an issue for over 6 months now. WHAT A JOKE ADOBE!!!

Impossible to work unless working offline. Issue is present primarily when trying to use a text box with type tool or select tools. Spinning beach balls galore. Disabling font management programs doesn't help. Mac OS 10.14.3.

This issue is beyond frustrating! Working on Windows 10 and have the newest InDesign install. Incredible lag and it's been this way for months. Every click or drag is delayed. Sometimes by a minute or two. The only thing that seems to break the hang is the ctrl key.
Sometimes pressing it or holding during a drag allows a few seconds of normal actiity.
Can't change fill colors on anything without the ctrl key and double clicking to cause the actual swatch property panel to open. Font previews have been turned off, that didn't change a thing. It would be great if someone on staff even acknowledged that this was a problem.

Still not fixed! This is beyond frustrating. I have tried everything possible to get my document to speed up but to no avail. This is causing major stress with delayed deadlines. I have never worked so slow in my life. Beyond ridiculous! Nothing has changed at all since the last update that I can tell.

Thank you "Anonymous commented · March 5, 2019 8:21 AM" ! Suitcase Fusion was causing my problems as well. As soon as I disabled the Suitcase Fusion Auto Activation preferences, the lagging stopped immediately. It may not be entirely Extensis' fault - I noticed that someone using Font Explorer also mentioned having issues. This may be a problem in how InDesign is interacting with font management utilities.

If anyone is on Mojave, going back to 2015 version of Indesign works better - this is true of Photoshop and Illustrator, too.

I've had the same problems as many here. I was able to solve it on my computer (Mac, Mojave, Indesign CC 2019, Suitcase Fusion v20.0.3). Seems Suitcase Fusion was the problem. Go to InDesign > Type > Suitcase Fusion > Suitcase Fusion Auto Activation Preferences > Then unselect all boxes. This seems to have solved all my spinning wheel/latency problems. I even turned "enable font sense support" back on and everything seems to be working fine. Hope this helps some of you.

Hello all from France,
I'm on Windows 10 / Indesigncc 14.0.1 x64.
Heavy problems of latency when I select an object and try another action right after... It's nearly impossible to work.
I tried to desinstall/reinstall, even cc2018, but it's all the same...
I can feel the breath of my clients on my back... really upsetting. -
