Same here! Ive tried to relaunch it so many times and it keeps crashing!!! Any fixes anyone?

This has been a problem for our users as well.

This bug renders inDesign almost useless, why isn't this a priority to Adobe??? From the comments it seems to be a bug going back 7 months!!!

Any update on this fix? Is there a work around? This is a big problem for many people including me.

hello, this bug is killing me. i was able to create a new style, delete the old style and replace with the new and that seems to be working.

I am having this problem for months already - and it's really slowing down my work - at this point - it's not only sometimes - EVERY single time I try to change a font it crashes. WHAT DO I DO?????

I am having the font issue, but also having problems with my effects panel not working and changing my pdf profile when exporting to pdf. It won't let me change it...

Mine isn't crashing, but I cannot change the fonts. It just refuses to change.
Can you not FIX THIS? I really need to get this project done.

I'm trying to edit a 362 page CS6 Indesign file (that I created on the previous operating system) and whenever I delete or highlight a word the sentence or paragraph or page turns blank and I have to zoom in or out to get the text to reappear. AND when I try to change fonts it crashes completely. I'm using the same font (TrueType Times Regular) as previously - which was completely fine... So what is the problem? Going by this thread it looks like it's been happening to a lot of people for a long time. There must be some sort of patch or solution by now! This is costing me a fortune in wasted time.

Is there any solution to this yet? It's happening every time for me.

When can we expect an update on this? so frustrating.. i'm crossing my fingers every time I select a font.. praying the app won't crash again

Same here - Mac OS 10.11.5 and Adobe CC 2018, 16 gig ram and running Chrome, photoshop at the same time.

Same problem here. In ALL files. Sent at least a half dozen "reports" to Adobe which seem to fall on deaf ears. CC has been the worst POS I've ever used. Wish I could go back to CS4.

Mee too!!! I've upgraded Indesign CC2018 v13. A first I thought it was the CPU speed. I upgraded to v13.0.1 problem was the same. I uninstalled and went back to Indesign CC2017 same issue!!!!! This so far has cost the better part of a whole day!!!

The problem now is I'm unsure what font is the issue (as it appears to be in several different files) each time I try. The most recent file uses Google Fonts. So that's a Opentype TT file?! Please help ASAP

I have the same exact problem. InDesign CC 2018 13.0.1. / MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3. InDesign crashes when I try to change the font, but the frequency of crashing seems to be random as it doesn't happen every time. It does happen with ALL InDesign files SEVERAL times per day and I believe with different fonts although I use the Akkurat (OpenType PostScript Type 1) family 99% of the time. I delete the InDesign preferences periodically, but it does not make any difference. This seems to be a persistent problem for many users and it's about time we get a resolution.
