Importing this icon and the transparent background is showing as black in current inDesign CC. Didn't have issues with similar icons from same site.

The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2022(v17.0.0.96). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.
If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

commentedFollowed Jay Morris' advice and opened png in Photoshop, resaved as RGB (even though it said it was already RGB), then inserted back in InDesign and no black background. Jay Morris commented · November 11, 2020 5:00 PM · Flag as inappropriate
Hi, just figured out a fix. Make sure your PNG is in RGB and not the Indexed Color Mode. I was having the same issue, resaved the PNG in RGB and updated it in Indesign and the black background was gone. Hope that helps some of y'all!

commentedI am having this issue as well. What's even more confusing is that some of the images are printing with a black background (that isn't visible prior to print), while other images are just fine. Furthermore, the images which have the issue are from the same larger image where the others are also from.

commentedI open the PNG in Photoshop, quick export it as PNG, and then I update it in InDesign. That seems to have been working for me these past couple months.

commentedCan confirm this is still an issue with PNGs being placed/imported into InDesign.

commentedJust tested in Photoshop and CC libraries logo works fine, tried placing in document from inDesign libraries and it appears black.
Exported to pdf to test if it remained black and it does. you can see from the attached file the Logo I am using and what it is supposed to look like.

commentedI am now having this issue as well. I don't really have time to export 60 different images/logos for a map. Any quicker solutions?

commentedCreate a new PS doc. Make sure that the bit rate is set to 16 Bit in the "New Document" screen. Click "Create". Place your artwork. Then click: File/Export/Export As... Be sure to set your export format as PNG and then click Export. The exported PNG should be able to be placed into InDesign without filling the transparency with black. Worked for me.

commentedIts about the Color Bits. If you save it as 8-bit, theres the black BG. Save it normal and it works.

commentedI have tried everything listed on this page and it still does not work. My pdf doc shows my png (only when printed) has a black box around it on when setting on a very dark gray background.
