[ID-4257175]Pages Panel: Buttons are hidden behind page number text when window is thin
When the pages panel is as thin as possible, the buttons such as delete page are behind the text that says the number of pages. It is therefore not possible to click on the buttons. I always use this panel in a thin band, and it is now less practical.
Version: InDesign 20.0.0

[ID-4214608]Page numbering of last pages not visible when View Pages is set to Horizontal in Pages panel.
When the pages panel is filled up vertically with the pages, and when the panel is set to "View Pages > Horizontally," the panel does not scroll all the way to the bottom, and the page numbers of the bottom pages are cut off.
This is easily reproducible in any new document with reset InDesign preferences.

Icon Panels do not expand correctly when Application Frame is OFF.
Recurring issue from one InDesign upgrade to the next! Found 2- and 6-year old reports of the same bug. In-between updates fix it but reoccurs with every new upgrade...
ISSUE
When Application Frame is disabled, panels that are on the right side of the screen don't expand towards the left as they normally would but to the right.
The bigger the UI scaling size, the more to the right of the screen the panel expansion moves, soon disappearing altogether. Only smallest sizing allows to display properly.
Attaching screenshot for reference.
No problem when Application Frame is enabled.TECHNICAL INFO:

Two Monitors - UI Window Always Loads Off Screen - Can't Resize Mac OS 14.5
This has been a bug for at least 5 years with InDesign (see link at the bottom of the post).
When a Mac user has two monitors, if the primary monitor is situated "lower" than the secondary monitor in a side-by-side configuration in the Display "Arrange" setting (see screenshot, main display is laptop, on right), then the windows will always load slightly off screen, locking the user out of moving them or rearranging them.
There is a temporary fix to put the main monitor "higher" than the secondary monitor in the horizontal arrangement.
However, this is an unacceptable long term…

Page Tool buggy with Alternate Layouts
Create a new document,
in Pages-panel insert some pages,
in Pages-panel create alternate Layout from Pages. To see bug, select the Page Tool and try to select pages with the Page Tool in the document window. Or scroll around the document and select pages. The problem: it will always jump to first page of the none-alternate layout.

InDesign resets window position set by Magnet utility on macOS
In the current v19.4 (2024), when I use the common utility Magnet to resize the InDesign window (i.e. the Application Frame) to full screen, InDesign itself will reset the window position as soon as I ⌘-tab out of InDesign and return to it. No other app on my Mac does this, and it's very frustrating. Manual window size changes are honoured.
There are other inconcistencies about InDesign's window positioning on macOS too — if it opens on my laptop screen, the application bar (above the control panel) appears under the menu bar and is almost invisible.
Please fix.

Strange that there is no option to align to bleed(cut-offs) in the alignment panel?
Strange that there is no option to align to bleed(cut-offs) in the alignment panel?
Is it that the officials don't think it's useful?
I personally need it. What about you guys?1 vote -
Guides aligned with cursor and not object
Just updated to InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) and had to switch back to the previous version due to the smart guides functioning strangely. The guides should show up in the center or edge of the object so that I can align it properly on the page and in relation to other objects. Instead, it's producing the guidelines from wherever my cursor is when I click and drag the object. This has made it much more difficult to do simple things like center objects, since it's just centering my cursor instead. I've never had any desire to align things based on…

App window resizes after presentation mode
InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) on Mac OS 14.6.1
When opening presentation mode (Shift + W or View > Screen Mode > Presentation …) and going back to default/preview mode the application window resizes.
When having the app window to its full size after presentation mode it changes back to its smaller size that you can toggle by using the green plus icon on the top left (Mac Version). When setting both window states manually to full size and toggling between the two (without effective size change) once it works afterwards the window stays in the same size when escaping presentation…

UI Interface Overlapping
Adobe Indesign 20.0
Reproduction: Opening InDesign or working on a file with extensive links
Expected Result: UI elements act as intended and do not overlap other portions of the interface, does not interfere with workflow
Actual Result: Portions of the UI are unusable due to overlapping and cannot see the last few links in the Links panel
First noticed this error on 10/16/2024 after updating InDesign the day prior

Alternate glyphs change order unpredicatably
If I show some alternate glyphs (whether in the tiny popup - can we resize this? - or in the Glyphs panel), when I select one, the order of the other glyphs changes. This is really annoying - can they PLEASE stay in the same order, so I can easily switch between them. The current (wrong) system goes like this:
Type a word
Highlight a character
The miniscule glyphs pop-up pops up
I choose the second (miniscule) glyph in the pop-up
I don't really like it
I choose the third glyph in the pop-up
Hold on - isn't that the…1 vote -
InCopy: Paragraph Panel Bugs When Placed in Top Menu Area
I’ve noticed an issue with the Paragraph panel when it's placed in the top menu area of InCopy. The Space After option disappears and only becomes visible when the panel is pulled out or moved to the right-side menu.
Additionally, the Drop Cap feature behaves oddly in the top menu. It restricts the character selection to a range of 6-150. However, once the panel is pulled out, I can select 1 character as expected.
Please ensure the Paragraph panel functions consistently in all locations, similar to how it works in InDesign, where I haven’t encountered these issues.
Also, I couldn’t…

Control Bar not usable in an undocked window when using Application Frame
Most of us here are professionals. Professionals use multi-monitor setups. Some (myself included) may even use the Application Frame feature anyway.
When I do, and have multiple documents open, I happen to need to undock one of the documents that is open in Tabs and move it to my second monitor so that I can view them both at the same time.
So I have one document open in the application frame, and on the second monitor I have a floating window of another document.
If I now have the floating window active and I want to resize an object…

responsive
InDesign is not responsive, when I open it on my Macbook pro, it gets "stuck" and does not adapt to the screen size. Plus when I click on the full screen enlargement icon it doesn't work.

UI settings greyed out
No one EVER solves this. Those of us who work on TV monitors (for the large size) can never get the panels text (among other things) to scale up so they are legible. This causes great eyestrain and is just terrible, over all. Usually, it is suggested that I change my resolution, but I can't do that, because it would ***** up everything else on my computer, including ID. This problem has been around for about 20 years, and the folks at InDesign don't care. They have never fixed it.

Panel flyout menus do not open on external displays/expanded desktops — they open only on primary display
I keep all of my tool palettes on a secondary monitor on Mac OS (now Sonoma) running the latest version of InDesign.
None of the flyout menus will open when the tool palettes are on a secondary display. However, I find if I drag the tool palette over to my Primary display, the flyout menus work again (until I drag them back to the external display).

Application frame not re-aligning after screen change.
Waking my MacBook after disconnecting from a secondary (and larger) screen, often leaves my Application frame in the previous size. And due to the fact that this formerly connected screen is much larger than my MacBook, it leaves the frame in a size and postion which makes it impossible to fetch, resize, or drag it to a hot area to force it to re-arrange properly.
Resetting the workspace, or switching application frame off/on, doesn't help. I have to Quit/Restart InDesign to let it realign its frame to the new screen size.
InDesign version 19.3, MacOS 12.6.2.
