  1. Stroke Alignment Changes Shape Size

    InDesign 13.0.1

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Create a shape (Rectangle, Circle, Polygon)
    2. Add stroke to shape
    3. Change stroke alignment

    Expected Result:
    - Stroke changes alignment to what the user set (inside, outside, centered).

    Actual Result:
    - Shape size (and bounding box) change, while stroke remains aligned inside the bounding box.

    The stroke is always shown inside the bounding box for all three types of stroke alignments. But if you check the size of the object, it will be different for different stroke alignments.
    For example, if you have a square of 100 pt x 100 pt with a 20 pt stroke weight aligned to Center, its W & H = 120 pt. Similarly for the same square, if the stroke is aligned to Inside, its W & H = 100 pt while for stroke aligned to Outside, its W & H = 140 pt.

    This is how it has been designed.

  2. Text wraps when replacing a swatch

    If I replace a swatch the text wraps at one place. It happens just with one color in the document... I doesn't matter which swatch I use for replacing... I never seen this before. I image how risky that is when you're replacing a swatch in a large project like a catalog and than somewhere in the document text is wraping...

  3. Error Message "you cannot reverse this change with the edit > undo command".

    This comes up continuously. The only way you can dispose of it is by shutting the program down. Apparently I am not the only person, as it been reported before. See the Adobe forum the same problem - forums.adobe.com/thread/2292990

    This makes it an official problem not exclusive to my experience.

    Do we have fix???

  4. preferences update

    Preferences, templates, custom sizes, actions should be carried forward as standard. Having to reset everything every update is excruciating and a large waste of unnecessary time.

  6. File rename

    InDesign 13.0 running Mac OX 10.12.6

    If and INDD file is renamed in the Finder when it's open in InDesign, saving the file will cause an error dialog to appear saying "Changes cannot be save as InDesign can no longer access the '[filepath:newfilename]' file. Place the file in the original location and try again." This error message appears whether trying to do a simple save or even Save As.

    This error appears even though both the window header and the file name in the error message both reflect the changed (not the original) file name.

    Hello All,

    Thank you for your support. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
    Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

  7. Error code 14: File cannot be opened - file from network storage is incompatible

    My InDesign (2018) document is synced for offline use in Google Drive. (We've just begun using Google File Stream). I go to open the document with WIFI disabled and this error message appears (see attachment).
    When I enable WIFI again, the document opens without issue.
    I'd appreciate any help please! Thank you.

  9. Document Fonts Package Between WINDOWS & MAC Not Recognized

    Hello.

    There is a problem when doings packages between Windows & Mac OS : since years when you do a package on an OS through another the fonts saved in the folder "Document Fonts" is not recognized by the OS...

    So we can't open & modify the document when we received a package from Windows when we are on MAC OS or vice-versa.

    So we need the client to supply the fonts one by one which is quite annoying.

  10. Dialog Box Disappears

    From time to time the Move dialogue box will not show up when called using the hotkey Shift-Command-M. InDesign then thinks a dialogue box is open and will not perform other tasks. You cannot exit the phantom dialogue box with escape. You cannot save your document. You cannot quit InDesign without manually force quitting.

    I am on Mac High-Sierra OS 10.13.1 (17B1003) and the latest Creative Cloud version of InDesign. I have had this happen on multiple computers and on multiple versions of InDesign.

  11. Outside aligned strokes are buggy

    After outlining text, putting an outside or inside stroke on it produces odd results. It seems it aligns to the absolute outside of the object, rather than the edges like it does in other Adobe programs. I've attached an example of what adding an outside stroke to an outlined 'e' looks like in both Indesign and Ilustrator looks like. This seems to effect any object that has a section cut out.

  13. Extension Manager can't be found in Mac version of Indesign 2018

    I'd noticed that OpenAsset was always opening without me installing it. I close the window, it pops back up. I don't want to use that extension, but can no longer find the extension manager to turn it off. I tried using the extension dropdown to uncheck OpenAsset, but it just reopens a few minutes later.

  15. XML output from CC2018 lacks Optimized image path

    When exporting XML from InDesign you can choose to export optimized images. In CC2017 and earlier the image element would include a href_opt attribute with the path to the exported optimized image.

    In CC2018, this attribute is not included.

    The href_FMT and href attributes do carry through.

  16. InDesign steals focus in Windows 10

    Whenever InDesign launches or performs a task such as PDF export, if the user switches to another application, InDesign will steal the focus back.

  17. Anchored frame looses the XML tag information as soon as anchor is released/anchor point is moved forward.

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Create an anchored text/graphic frame with some inline text/image. Tag the frame with some XML Tag (say 'tag1').

    2. Now release the anchor.

    Expected output
    - On releasing the anchor, there should be no changes in the XML tag on frame.

    Actual output
    - On releasing the anchor, the frame gets untagged.

    Additional note: Similar thing happens when anchor is moved forward to another position in inline text. In this case also, frames gets untagged

  18. Page wont show in page panel

    There are some pages that are created from before. They even have a master applied on them but the page panel wont show all my pages. I can not select them or move them. Please help.

  19. Data missing when importing a spreadsheet (Exel) into InDesign

    When I insert an excel document into my indesign document some values of some cells do not appear in Indesign document. I tried to save the excel document in an older version and that's the only way it worked.I think it's a compatibility issue.     I need that this issue resolved to can work in editorial work design.
