  1. The app.doScript () statement no longer works since version 15.1.1...

    The script that I am attaching works up to version 15.0 and does not work with the next versions (certainly with version 15.1.1). The error that returns is "Unable to load Adobe Indesign Type Library 1.0" (translated from Italian). It does not seem to me that there are incompatibilities with the app.doScript () statement that generates the error.

  2. Unable to Save Document

    Indesign 15.1
    Opened file I have worked on before. Added some text. Went to 'undo' an action and couldn't with key command or 'Edit>Undo'.
    Then thought I would try and close out of Indesign and restart to see if that helped. Tried to save file. Could not save file with key command or 'File>Save'.
    Options—Save, Save As, CheckIn, Save A Copy, and Revert—are all grayed out and unusable, as well as many options under the Edit menu as well.

  3. Character Alternates Contextual Menu not working in InDesign with Hebrew Support

    Note the following checkbox:

    Preferences > Advanced Type > Type Contextual Controls > Show for Character Alternates, Fractions, Ordinals and Ligatures

    If checked, whenever a character is selected a contextual menu with alternates should appear (if supported by the font, of course).

    It's working in the English (International) version, but not in the English (Hebrew Supporting) version.

  4. avenir font glitch, HELP

    Recently did Indesign update, now my Avenir font glitches across all of my documents and comes up as gibberish. Sometimes if I close Indesign and reopen it will view fine, other times it will not. Typically it will not view correctly. This is a basic system font. I cleared all fonts on my system and did a restart incase an installed font was causing the issue, it was not the issue. My co-worker is having the same issue as well on her end.

  5. display artifact

    Viewing this document, which is still in draft form, the bleed area contains a dark gray horizontal line across the top and a larger dark gray rectangle near the top of the right-hand side. There are no unseen objects in the design that could be causing this.

  6. Adobe 2020 build 15.0.2 - loses installed fonts

    When working with InDesign 2020, fonts that are installed on the system, go missing especially if I either export some pages as a PDF, or package the file. If I quit InDesign and restart, InDesign finds the fonts and I can work with the document until I do another PDF export or package the file.
    I never had this problem with InDesign 2019 and earlier. It just started with InDesign 2020 and build 15.0.2.

  7. enableRedraw = false ignored during script run

    During a loop to load text snippets to my page ID 2020 ignores the fact that enableRedraw=false and DOES redraw the page on every loop

    app.scriptPreferences.enableRedraw = false;

        do {
        app.doScript(insertTexts2, ScriptLanguage.JAVASCRIPT, undefined, UndoModes.ENTIRE_SCRIPT, "Insert Texts " + C2Place + ":" + V2Place);
    } while (libs[8][3].geometricBounds[0] < pageTextBottom);
    app.scriptPreferences.enableRedraw = true;

    The text is inserted into 8 different frames -- during the loop it SHOULDN'T redraw the page -- but it does (slowing the script down)

  8. Character outline aligned center PDF export problem

    Character outline aligned center PDF export problem

    Indesign 15.0.1, Mac Os 10.15.2

    Missing hyphen and some character on line endings has outline color instead fill.

    Explaned on placed PDF.

    Export to PostScript or printing is OK.

  9. horizontal line appears in overprint preview

    when I enter overprint preview, a white thin horizontal line appears towards the top of my page. It appears in different spots on different pages. one image shows the page normally not in overprint, the other shoes in overprint with a white line towards the bottom of the photo. the line moves to different places when i go back and forth from overprint view.

  10. Excel paste to table fails

    Indesign 15.0.1 for Windows
    Copy multiple cells in two columns from Excel
    In indesign select the corresponding cells and columns in a indesign table
    Paste Excel data in Indesign table.

    Expected behavior: Data will be imported to the table as it is presented in Excel but keep the formatting options from the table in InDesign.

    Actual behavior: Imported Excell data keeps the Excel formats and and additional column is added. Import fails. please see attached screenshots and files.

    Works in Adobe InDesign 14.x for windows and 15.0.1 for MacOS

  11. "Windows version 1709 not supported" yet, "You must update your system to install InDesign v15.0"

    Hi Adobe Team - Searching your site it sounds like Windows 10 should not be a barrier to working in the latest version of InDesign, but I am unable to install InDesign v15.0 on my work computer.

    My Creative Cloud Desktop window displays the below message in quotes:

    "Update required
    You must update your system to install lnDesign. Please check the following:
    Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 10 or later (Note: Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 version 1507, Windows 10 version 1511, Windows 10 version 1703 and Windows 10 version 1709 are not supported)"

  12. Type tool hotkey still not working

    When moving from the direct selection tool to try to make a text box with the type tool hotkey (T), the hotkey still isn't working in InDesign. It shows temporarily as the I bar icon, and then keeps reverting to the direct selection tool or sometimes a disappearing + icon. It doesn't matter how long I wait or if I select the page or the pasteboard for the new text box (although I seem to have more succes on the pasteboard than on the page)..   13. Font KNU (karen) doesn't display correctly in InDesign files.

    When working on files that are written in Karen language, suing KNU font, this font is not displaying corrently.

    The same font displays fine in PowerPoint, Word, PDF software, but not in InDesign.

    Also, the accessibility information doesn't accept text in Karen.

  16. raccourcis clavier

    illustrator 14.0.2
    régulièrement les raccourcis clavier ne fonctionnent plus (exemple : command O etc.) il faut aller dans edition > raccourcis claviers pour resélectionner les raccourcis. ensuite cela refonctionne, jusqu'au prochain bug.

  17. Properties window not staying in custom workspace

    Every time I open Indesign (14.0.1) my custom workspace loads, however, since adding the new 'properties' window to this workspace, the properties panel does not load with the custom, saved workspace. Instead I have to open it separately each time from the Window menu.

  18. InDesign 2019 Data Merge not allowing Multiple Records per page

    The dropdown to allow Multiple Records per page is not available (not that it ever worked perfectly). Using the exact same settings, text, and csv file, it works fine in 2018.

  19. Can't open .idap files

    We can package .icap files and send them to the proofreader, but when we get the .idap files back we can't open them. We get the error "The selected package file requires an InDesign document “^1” that cannot be found."

    Others seem to be having the same issue here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2551100
    The plugin listed in that forum thread does not fix the problem either.

    The problem started when our team updated to CC 2019... had no problems until the update. We're on Apple's Mojave OS and 2019 InDesign.

  20. Footnotes flows on the following page even if there is still space on the page where is the reference number

    Indesign CC 14.0.1
    MAC OS High Sierra 10.13.6

    unfortunately it happens very often that the text of the footnotes flows on the following page even if there is still space (several lines) on the page where is the footnote’s reference number.
    for this bug, the result of many jobs is very bad
