Adobe Indesign CC 2018: Export to pdf does not maintain Indesign file layers structure
Creating interactive pdf in InDesign may require controls to be placed in a strict vertical sequence.
Exporting to interactive pdf from InDesign re-orders the layers and elements within those layers. This may break the functionality of the original structure as some buttons which control the appearance of others may no longer be accessible. The structure then has to be modified in Adobe Acrobat which is time consuming and awkward to do.

Licensing restriction in the Font issue, while using a FREE FONT
Cannot export a PDF file while using a handwriting Font from many sources, even though they are Licence free.

Doesn't let me save in RGB
InDesign CC2018
I'm trying to save a PDF in RGB, but when you are in the output section to change from CMYK to RGB, it doesn't let me, it automatically changes to CMYK.
Even if I start the file in Web version since the beginning.
I tried with new files and it still doesn't let me.

inDesign Form Fields are Hidden in Acrobat after Export
I created two form fields in inDesign using the Buttons and Forms panel. When I export my pdf (interactive), I cannot see the form fields. Interestingly enough, when I click "Prepare Form" in Acrobat, the form fields appear, and without doing anything, I can save the pdf and the form fields will continue to work as expected. Obviously this is much more time-consuming than if the fields were just visible by default.
My document is very simple: 1 page, a couple lines, minimal text, some hyperlinks (which all function correctly), and the two form fields.
I believe it has something…
1 voteThe way you have described the issue you are facing is pretty simple and straight-forward. You don’t need to toggle any specific setting to specify Form Fields in InDesign or view them in Acrobat. The Form Fields are visible with a light-bluish background in Acrobat. Wonder what could be causing the issue to happen for you.
Even though there doesn’t appear to be anything special in the document you are creating, could you share the same so that it can be looked at for troubleshooting?Adobe InDesign team

When i go into File- Export, only the bottom half of the Export Adobe PDF pop up is showing up on my screen.
THe PDF export window is not showing up in its entirely on my screen. The top half is missing so I cannot change and of my settings and I cannot grab the top of the pop up to move it down the page. So I cannot submit any pages to my printer since it's not set on the printer's settings. How can I move this pop up down on my screen?

Hyperlinks and Email addresses not working when exporting interactive PDF from InDesign CC 13.0 x64 on windows platform.
My department is tasked with creating 508 accessible documents. In 2017 version of InDesign, we did not have any issues exporting documents containing hyperlinks or email addresses. Now when I run the accessibility report, every one of them fail. We absolutely need to find a fix for this so that we can meet our client needs.

URLs breaking when used inside a table
I have a InDesign doc that has several columns (name, address, website link, etc). When converting to pdf the urls break. The urls are too long for the column so they wrap onto 2-3 lines. When I copy the url and paste it outside the table and extend the text box so the url is on one line then it works as should be.

Export Icon
the icon while exporting PDFs has an animation next to the "arrange documents" icon at the top. this is minor but the last two frames of the saving animation are switched around. i dont know how to explain it so i guess you should just try saving a big PDF yourself and paying attention to the bar. again really minor but for a product meant for design, it feels like it could have been seen beforehand

[BUG] PDF size is to high using the export feature
With this post I would like to report an issue regarding the export feature of Adobe Indesign. When exporting a PDF-file from Indesign, the PDF file size is unnecessary to high and the document contains a lot of overhead. After the same pdf-file is resaved using the default Os X preview application, the overhead is removed and the file size is correct. Please fix this issue.

When pasting or exporting, the Preview Panel will not resize, expands to the entire window
When exporting or pasting in Indesign 2018, the preview panel will not resize.
It expands to the entire window which there is no minimize button on top, only the cancel button. I have resize arrows but will not resize.1 vote -
Alternate text added to graphic missing in exported PDF when using Articles panel.
1.) Apply alternate text to graphic using Object > Object Export Options.
2.) Anchor graphic into frame
3.) Add containing text frame to Articles panel.
4.) Export to PDF including tags
The result is that the exported PDF file doesn't have the alternate text applied

image position changes on pdf export
I am creating a 'flipbook' of images in InDesign, when I fullscreen the flipbook in InDesign all the image positions are correct and do not move, however when I export to a PDF and preview the flipbook using acrobat, the images do not retain their exact positions and move 1px or 2px on some pages. I have repeatedly checked the image positions in InDesign and and they are all fixed in the same position. Is there any option in the PDF output settings that ensures that the images will be 'anchored' to the correct position?

ALL DAY pdf export
It took 5 HOURS to convert a file to pdf 1. ID had a terrible time reading an Illustrator vector -- same vector on every page. Felt like I was back in 1999.

Compression settings almost ignored when exporting to PDF
For some weeks now, compression settings (almost) do not apply when I export a PDF.
When I use "300dpi-maximum quality" a pair of pages weight 105Mo, but if I use "130dpi-medium quality", the same pair of pages weights 103,8Mo, not exactly the same, but not what's expected..
And If I "optimize" the 130-medium file in ACROBAT PRO at identical 130-medium settings, it reduces to 1,1Mo (which add a step before I can send each PDF by mail to someone)
This apply as well to the ID I receive from other people than to my own creations.

Beveled and Embossed image should not flatten during pdf export
A bug that needs fixing:
InDesign Version CC, I embedded an image, applied a shear, applied the bevel and emboss effect, when exporting to pdf, it flattens the sheared image and adds a weird bevel in the middle of the image. Screenshot 1 from InDesign, Screenshot 2 from resulting pdf. This needs to be corrected.1 voteFix is available in version 13.1 of InDesign.
Please update to the latest version available to you via Creative Cloud Desktop application. Thanks,

Custom PDF presets erased after update to CC 2018
I have several saved PDF presets for different clients. All of them had been deleted after upgrading from CC 2017 to 2018. I first thought they were simply not migrated over, but after opening InDesign CC 2017 I noticed they were gone there also! Only the default presets (High-Quality Print, etc.) were showing up in the drop-down menu. I had to go into my TimeMachine update to restore the files.
3 votesHi Annika
Could you please go to the following location on your system, and check whether your presets are present on your machine or not:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/SettingsAlso, is there any other Adobe application that is installed on your system, like Illustrator? If yes, could you please check if your presets are shown in those applications or not.

InDesign 2018 and High Sierra cannot export correct looking pdf
pdf will export but it exports a previously saved file. I even tried saving as a new doc and still it exports to the older art.
1 voteHi
Please provide the following information:
1. What version of InDesign CC (2018) are you using? Is it 13.0 or 13.0.1? You can verify this in the About box.
2. What do you mean by “it still exports to the older art”? Do the linked files used older linked graphics or the file itself is exporting to an older version of the file?
3. Is it specific to a particular file or is happening constantly with all the files? Also, please share the file with which you are seeing the issue, as a package with all links and fonts, at anasgupt@adobe.com

glow
I had created a 1-up postcard for a proof in InDesign, and then placed it in a second InDesign document 3-up. When I exported it to PDF from the 3-up document using "Fiery Optimized" settings, the resulting PDF was missing all outer glow effects. Looking at the PDF, the outer glow on page one was on the "Sacramento Investor" logo on the lower left positions, and on page two, on that same logo, plus the text on top of all the property photos
I packaged the doc and links, which are attached. As part of that process, I created a…
