InDesign in Windows ALWAYS forgets app size and position!
This has been a persistent pain for many YEARS. Everyone knows that an app should open to the last position and size. That's what the double-box icon is for in the upper right corner of the window border. Every single application in WIndows honors this "requirement" for Windows conformance.
InDesign forces Windows users to reposition and resize the program every single time it is opened. This becomes a tremendous nuisance, and in any other program would be considered incomplete and unprofessional. PLEASE, for all the users who don't know how to report this bug, and for those of us who…

screen redraw errors: content disappears while editing
While editing content (most usually, editing type), all the type disappears from the screen, so you can't see what's being edited. Scrolling up or down until the affected area is off screen, then scrolling back down fixes the problem, but it's a huge time suck to have to deal with this and all the other bugs.

conflict of making your document smaller than your margins
InDesign CC 2019 v. 14
The New ”New document” dialog box doesn't give any warning of the conflict of making your document smaller than your margins allow. It just changes the width and/or height back to what it was as a default if your margins are too large and does not warn the user about it.
And if the user fails to notice that the size switches back, it will create a document that’s not the size intended. User may not even realize what is it that went wrong.
In the Legacy New Document dialog box, when you click OK,…
1 voteInDesign is trying to be helpful here by intelligently reverting to the last good value in the New Document dialog since it’s not possible to create a new document with the values entered by you.
We hope you find this useful.

Page-jump dialog disappears, leaving ID non-interactive
On three occasions since installing CC 2019, I've:
selected [command+j] to jump to a page
had the page-jump dialog appear, grab focus, and then immediately disappear
this has left InDesign in a non-interactive state, where I have to force-quit.

Libraries menu name
The menu name for the CC Libraries needs to be consistent across programs... Photoshop/Illustrator it is called "Libraries" in Windows -> Libraries
In InDesign it is called "CC Libraries". It should be called "Libraries" just like the others.

Second screen panels don't appear automatically
As part of my custom workspace, I have certain panels set up to appear on a second screen.
Since updating to Indesign CC 2019, no panels on my second screen appear by default when opening InDesign. Instead, I have to go to the Window drop down and manually open one of the panels assigned to the second screen, which then brings up all the second screen panels.

Interface not accurately displaying position of objects.
This has been happening ever since CC was released, and it drives me nuts.
Example: I have a rectangle perfectly aligned to the grid, but the frame edge does not share the same screen pixel as the grid line when zoomed out. Check the image examples:2 votes -

Background Tasks Palette too wide
The Background Tasks Palette is too wide compared to other palettes in the UI (MacOS).
I dock several palettes together to save real estate on my monitor. When I focus on most palettes, the width is 240 pixels, but the Background Tasks palette can't be made narrower than 400 pixels – a 66% increase! If there was a reason to have this palette be so wide I'd understand the limitation, but most of the relevant information in that palette would easily fit within the 240 width.6 votes -

Type functions do not work on Text frames in CC2019
In all previous versions, it was possible to select a TEXT FRAME (one or more) and apply any text formatting to the text in it.
This has been removed in CC2019. With a text frame selected, the text functions in the control panel and in text related palettes -- Character, Paragraph -- are disabled. The functions in the Character and Paragraph Styles panels are NOT disabled but they don't "work".
Expected result: how it worked in the 13 versions that preceded this one.

layers panel disappearing
My layers panel keeps disappearing - I go to the "Window" menu and open it up, do what I need to do and next time I go to use the layers panel - which I haven't closed - it has closed again... I need to keep revisiting the "Windows" menu every time I want to use it.

Align toolbar: "Use Spacing" is greyed out
Version: Adobe InDesign cc 2019 (v 14.0)
Steps to reproduce:
I'm not sure how to reproduce it. After some minutes of working, the checkbox for "Use Spacing" in toolbar Align/Distribute Spacing is greyed out and inactive. Not sure when it happens or what makes it happen.
But: in the Properties toolbar, "Use Spacing" is not greyed out and it is working normal, as seen in the attached picture. If I click the checkbox in the Properties toolbar, then the checkbox in the Align toolbar is activated and not greyed out anymore.Expected result:
"Use Spacing" in Align toolbar should not…14 votesThe fix for this issue is now available in the latest update 14.0.2 of InDesign 2019.

macOS full screen support please
My workflow makes use of macOS workspaces, but this requires my applications to support Full Screen mode in macOS. Adobe CC apps do not and I'm fairly sure this is intentional, but it doesn't align with the way many users work.
Please add macOS Full Screen/Workspaces functionality in future updates of InDesign and other CC applications. Thanks!

palettes stay closed/hidden when I open documents
Version of InDesign: 14.0
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Close documents so that all documents are closed. (All palettes close.)
2. Open a document.Expected Result: I expect the palettes I last had open to be there automatically.
Actual Result: The document opens, but the palettes stay closed/hidden.
Any Workarounds: Currently, my workaround is to hit Command-Shift-D to bring up the Links palette. When I do that, all the palettes appear. I could, of course, select any palette from the menu, but a keyboard shortcut is so much quicker than mousing around to a menu item. This behavior didn't happen in…

Layers panel is always minimized upon start
After launching InDesign the panel group with the panels "Layers/Scripts" is always minimized (AID2.png) although I saved my workspace with expanded panels (AID1.png). Tried to resave my workspace or create a new one, but the issue remains. When I reset my workspace the panel gets expanded, but only until the next launch of InDesign. It's not severe bug, but a bit annoying to reset the workspace on every launch of the program, because a workspace actually is dedicated to help avoid setting the workspace again and again, shouldnt' it?

InDesign CC2019 - blank control panel
Just installed InDesign CC2019. Bizarrely the control panel containing the adjustment controls with character and paragraph setting is there but empty. I tried turning off and on, and resetting the workspace but to no avail. Resetting preferences on start up has worked but feel this could happen again.

Inconsistent unit names in Czech version
The "points" are called "body" in the Czech langauge., the short version is "b". Unfortunately Adobe CC apps are very inconsistent and you can find "b" (InDesign, Photoshop), "b." (InDesign) or even not translated "pt" (Illustrator).
Please make it consistent. If you can't change it in all Adobe apps, at least make it "b" in InDesign. (Adobe CS 6 is correct, line thickness is represented as "b" while CC displays "b.".

InDesign CC display error thin white line
InDesign CC 13.1 x64
In every document I open, everytime there's a single line in the top area of the document/artboard. It appears when you activate the
Overprint Preview with high quality. Then InDesign generates a thin white line 1px thick and 101px away from the top of the document. It
also keeps this position when I zoom in or out. Only if I begin to drag the view via the hand tool then the line is broken (obviously it
has some trouble to refresh complete).
The line generates on all pages no matter if there're images or graphics or…8 votes
