   Text is entered, but inadvertent scrolling does not occur.

   Actual result:
   When you enter text in a position covered by the panel, the function of forcing scrolling works. Due to the influence of the UI scale, there is a shift in the panel area from the upper left corner of the document.
   When the UI size is the maximum, about twice the coordinate area is the area where forced scrolling occurs.
   The same is true for the icon panel.

2. InDesign illogically selects guideline instead of a line drawn on it

   We use the line tool to draw change bars along a guideline in page margins. I just needed to copy one, but found that InDesign was selecting the guideline instead of the line drawn on it, which I was clicking on.

   Nothing was locked, and nothing was on separate layers, etc.

   Please fix this defect.

3. InDesign 2026 cursor scaling problem

   Subject: Cursor remains extremely small on 27-inch 4K monitor despite all available scaling settings

   I would like to report a HiDPI scaling issue in Adobe InDesign 2026 that affects usability on professional 4K monitors.

   My setup consists of two displays connected to the same Windows PC:

   • ASUS ProArt PA279CRV – 27-inch, 3840 × 2160 (4K)
   • KOORUI 27-inch – 1920 × 1080 (Full HD)

   When InDesign is displayed on the KOORUI Full HD monitor, the text cursor (insertion point) appears at a normal and comfortable size. However, when I move the exact same InDesign window to the ASUS ProArt PA279CRV 4K monitor, the cursor becomes extremely small and difficult to see.

   I have already tested all available scaling-related options without success:

   • Windows display scaling at multiple values, including 100%, 125%, 150%, 175%, 200%, and higher available settings.
   • InDesign Preferences → User Interface Scaling → UI Sizing set to Large.

   • Windows Compatibility settings:

     • Application
     • System
     • System (Enhanced)

   • Restarting InDesign after each change.

   None of these settings significantly improve the cursor size on the 4K display.

   It is important to note that the Windows cursor itself scales correctly and remains clearly visible throughout the operating system. The issue appears to be specific to InDesign’s text insertion cursor. The behavior can be reproduced instantly by simply moving the InDesign window from the Full HD monitor to the 4K monitor, without changing any other settings. This indicates that the problem is related to how InDesign handles HiDPI scaling on 4K displays.

   Because both monitors are 27 inches, the physical size difference is not caused by screen size but by the much higher pixel density of the 4K display. As a result, the insertion cursor becomes disproportionately small compared to the rest of the interface.

   I would also like to emphasize that reducing the monitor resolution is not an acceptable workaround. I specifically purchased the ASUS ProArt PA279CRV for professional graphic design, catalog production, image editing, and color-critical work at its native 3840 × 2160 resolution. Lowering the resolution defeats the purpose of using a professional 4K monitor.

   I kindly request that Adobe review and improve the scaling behavior of the text insertion cursor in InDesign on HiDPI and 4K displays, or provide a dedicated option to independently adjust cursor thickness and visibility.

4. zoom selection issue

   Zoomin using CMD+Shift results in the zoom selection moving weirdly while dragging the zoom selection and renders zooming completely unusable.

   I assume that has something to do with UI scaling?

   Summary of the Issue
   The CC Libraries panel flickers continuously when InDesign 2026 (26.3.1) is used on a MacBook Pro M4 connected to an external display. The flicker is limited to the panel UI itself and does not affect other panels or the document area.
   The flickering completely stops under two conditions:

   When the CC Libraries panel is moved to the MacBook’s built‑in display.

   When the user backs out of or exits the specific Library being viewed inside the CC Libraries panel.

   The issue persists across multiple documents, including brand-new ones, indicating this is panel-level behavior, not file corruption.

   Steps to Reproduce

   Open Adobe InDesign 2026 (26.3.1) on macOS Tahoe 26.3.1.
   Connect an external display to the MacBook Pro M4.
   Open the CC Libraries panel.
   Navigate into an existing Library containing assets.
   View the panel on the external monitor.

   Observed Behavior

   The bottom portion (or the entire contents) of the CC Libraries panel flickers repeatedly.
   The flicker occurs even when InDesign is idle (not interacting with the panel).
   The flicker continues across all open documents and persists after restarts.

   Expected Behavior

   The CC Libraries panel should render normally on all attached displays without flickering or redraw failures.

   Workarounds Found

   Collapsing the CC Libraries panel stops the flickering immediately.

   Dragging the panel onto the MacBook’s built-in display stops the flicker completely.

   This behavior is similar to past InDesign external‑monitor flicker issues documented by Adobe. [community.adobe.com]

   Backing out of the active Library being viewed also stops the flicker.

   These workarounds confirm the issue is tied to panel content rendering + external monitor GPU/UI pipeline, consistent with known external‑monitor flickering behaviors previously reported in InDesign. [community.adobe.com]

   Additional Notes

6. Bug finder items in front of Indesign windows

   When moving the application window, by clicking and dragging the application title bar, background finder items like other applications and finder windows are put in front of the Indesign application window. Please fix this. I'm using Os X 26.2 and Indesign CC2026 (21.0.2)

7. InDesign 21.1 x64 on PC: panels not expanding when clicking on the icon

   Panels sometimes do not expand when clicking on an icon in the right-hand column of panels. It seems random. Sometimes the panel you choose expands when you click on the icon (as it should), but sometimes you have to click the two little chevrons pointing leftward at the top of the column of icons, which makes them all expand and it's a mess to work with. Only the one you click on should expand, but sometimes it doesn't.

   This isn't a new bug. There were previous submissions about this and the issue was supposedly resolved, but it is NOT. The comments are closed, so I couldn't comment on there that the issue is not resolved. This has been happening ever since the first upgrade at the beginning of the year. I'm on the latest update and still having this issue.

9. How do you disable the new "Alt Text" icon that shows in the lower-left corner of image frames?

   It's like the AI feature that was added in Illustrator. I can't find an option to disable it and it's very distracting. It looks like a mistake in the artwork and will stay the same size regardless of zoom level. Disabling the two Alt Text features in Generative AI preferences did NOT fix this.

10. Workspace

    In the latest version of InDesign (2026 / 21.1), my custom workspaces do not work properly.
    I have always manually created 2 workspaces based on my most used tools in all previous versions of ID. However in the latest relaese, whenever I start the program or when I reset my workspace it loads certain panels which are not open when I save the workspace. Most notibly the History, Gradient and CC Libraries panels keep coming back.

    sometimes panels like Links, Layer are not opening by command or clicking in Window menu, then I got a solution for this issue i.e. change the workspace to another and comeback to your old one, it will help you. But it'll be an issue for everyone else. So please solve this issue in next update.

14. unexpected window scaling

    InDesign prerelease 21.1 on MacOs 15.6.1 MacBookPro 16” M2pro (with connected 4K screen, or not).
    After lanching InDesign and opening a file, this one fits to full internal screen. If you open a second doc on the same window in a new tab, it resizes the window to full internal screen (even if you resized it to a less size) but window is a little higher. If you move the window to the external 4K screen and open a new doc, there is no bug : the window don't resize.

15. Typing reverses in import dialogue box field after error

    InDesign 21.0.2. Language: UK English.

    Immediately after a "You have not entered a valid cell range" error when trying to import data from an Excel file, typing reverses in the cell range field, i.e., 'print-area' becomes 'aera-tnirp' or 'A1:D5' becomes '5D:1A'.

    This isn't a consistent error. By the way, both 'print_area' and 'A1:G50' are valid cell ranges. Resaving the .xlsx file, even down to a .xls, does not resolve the issue. Named ranges do not appear in the cell range drop-down.

    Before upgrading, I used to be able to have multipe .indd docs open next to a spreadsheet on my screen, now they automatically change size when I switch between them, seemingly "remembering" the state they were last resized to.

    When using InDesign without the application frame ("Anwendungsrahmen" in the german version we use) active, opening multiple documents and trying to arrange them with any of the options in Windows > Arrange ("Fenster" > "Anordnen") the windows are arranged according to the deactivated/invisible application frame and not the full screen as in previous versions. Also, when the application frame is scaled to the full screen and then deactivated, the arranged windows keep a thin row on the bottom of the screen free (and overlap in the vertical center by this amount). 19. Unable to get rid of history and style pack icons on my workspace

    The History and Style pack icons keep appearing on my InDesign workspace panels. I have tried creating several new workspaces, each time without these icons. However, they reappear each time I open a new document.

20. Clicking icons (sometimes) does not open the palette

    Version: Indesign 21.0
    Expected result: clicking the icon opens the palette
    Actual result: the palette does not open, even though the icon has a "clicked" appearance
    Steps to reproduce: I haven't figured out, it seems to happen randomly... but restarting the program fixes it

    Note:
    The problem affects the entire column of icons shown in the screenshot, not just the clicked one.
