1. Scaling problem multiple monitors

   InDesign Version: 19.4
   Open InDesign on an external monitor (on Mac OS–Sonoma)

   Problem:
   InDesign is in many cases unusable for me, because the window sometimes just scales itself down to a very tiny size without any reason.
   Sometimes it happens when I try to zoom in in a document and in many other situations too.

2. InDesign Home Bar

   In InDesign 2024 v19.0, there is a new bar at the top that has the home button, share, workspaces & Adobe Stock/help. The bar has no name and no close button. Is not listed under the Window Menu either, so currently it's impossible to hide/close and it takes a lot of vertical space that I rather use for the canvas or other panels.

   Please fix this and add a way to close it.

3. 'Text style' (Character/Paragraph) Drop Down Visual Bug

   Adobe InDesign 19.4, Apple M3 Max, Sonoma 14.4 and 14.5 (at least).

   'Text Style' drop downs for character and paragraph show persistent white box, without any of the styles showing. White box blocks UI actions below.

   Occurs randomly, resolves randomly. Restart not guaranteed to fix the issue.

   Expected result: The drop down displays the relevant text styles...
   Actual result: Empty white box...

4. Main view not redrawn when mouse zooming until mouse is moved

   After I updated to MacOs 14.4, I got this weird bug when zooming pages using Opt+mouse scroll wheel. I can see the vertical and horizontal scroll bar sizes changes as I am zooming, but the main view is not updated. The moment I move my mouse, the main view also get updated. This is very frustrating, because I cannot see the size while I am zooming. This worked fine in MacOs 14.2.

   To reproduce the bug:

   Zooming seems to work initially when opening a document, and the error seems sometimes to be triggered if I Space+drag when I have the mouse pointer on (positioned on) one of the pages. If I have the cursor outside any page (in the grey area) while initiating a Space+drag the issue sometimes magically goes away until I Space+drag with cursor positioned on one of the pages again. I can turn the bug on/off by doing this. Sometimes is also seems to matter if I zoom with the cursor inside or outside the pages.

   Running InDesign 19.2 on MacOs Sonoma 14.4 on a Mac Studio M2. GPU is not enabled.

5. Problem Selecting Hebrew vowels and diacritics

   Windows 11
   Indesign 19 x64

   Problem Selecting Hebrew vowels and diacritics especially when there are Hebrew and English mixed in the paragraph, it seems like there is no visual distinction to determine what is being selected. This is so frustrating, and makes it impossible to use in the long run.

6. Can the panel only push to the right? This will exceed the screen on the right.

   Can the panel only push to the right? But when the panel is on the right, I hope to double -click the panel, and it will push left to the left, otherwise it will be beyond the right screen on the right.

   Perhaps, some people say that you can be close to the right edge, and naturally push away to the left.
   I know this, but this is not what I need.
   I need more flexible settings.

7. [ID-4251249] Exiting Presentation Mode changes Application's Window size at higher UI Scaling when connected to external monitor.

   InDesign's Window size set by user prior to entering Presentation mode is not retained upon exiting from Presentation mode when connected to external monitor and with the UI Scaling set to other than Small setting.
   InDesign's window becomes fullscreen.
   It would be great to get back to same size and position.

8. Type palettes UI visual problem

   Something amiss with the paragraph and character palette, the field contents is showing not where they should be—the zeros or contents of the field are up over the alignment symbols. See screenshots.

9. Data merge panel blank

   Data Merge WAS failing to display data field placeholders in either existing documents or new ones. I'm getting a completely Data Merge blank panel when importing a new source file, and when opening an existing document with a linked file, I was only seeing a preview of one of the records.
   This persisted through a number of workspace configurations (most including a second monitor) until I broke the Data Merge panel off from the others, and cycled through the panel size presets (the up/down chevrons to the left of the panel title) - only once returned to 'standard' size did the Data Merge panel again display the merge tags, and allow the preview button to be clicked etc

10. dual monitors - UI stays the size of the small monitor even when I drag it back to the large HD monitor

    Windows 10

    Monitor 1 is my Huion display tablet 16”
    Monitor 2 is main 32" Samsung monitor

    If I open InDesign with "extend these displays" checked in the windows display settings and then drag the program back to Monitor 2 (32" Samsung) - the work area is smaller and I cannot drag it to fill the screen. Also the text for all dialog boxes is too small and the program will not release from the settings of the Huion tablet.

    I need to be able to have InDesign behave like Photoshop - which opens up with the same scaling and text size for menus and normal sized dialog boxes on either monitor.

    This is a huge issue for me. I need to use the Huion tablet for Photoshop retouching and also need to be able to view the long document in InDesign on the larger monitor to view the original at a normal viewable size.

    Can you please fix this?

    I am not sure why it would be different for InDesign. Photoshop works seamlessly and retains the same appearance when dragged between the two monitors.

    It would be great if we could select which monitor to open individual programs on - but I am not sure how that would work.

11. Blank Document/Pasteboard when Display Profile Changes

    When the display profile changes, i.e., when using automatic profile switching when room lighting changes (Spyder), document pages and any items on the pasteboard disappear. The rest of the UI remains the same.

    The 'fix' suggested elsewhere is to turn GPU preview off. However, when you do that, clicking on the document/pasteboard makes both flash white and can also make the document jump leftward to the edge of the window.

    The only real fixes are to close and reopen the document(s) or restart InDesign.

    And just in case anyone is tempted to suggest I stop using Spyder or any other display calibrator, please don't.

12. The magnification option is gone from the menu bar in InCopy 2024

    I'm not sure if this was a strange UI decision, a preference I can't find or a bug. It seems that the magnification dropdown in InCopy 2024 that was beside the "Help" button is gone.

13. Workspace dissapears when selecting objects

    When selecting objects with the mouse cursor or selecting text, the workspace disappears and everything becomes white. Once the process is finished, everything appears normal again.
    I use Adobe Indesign 19.1, macOS14.2.1, Apple M1 Max 32GB.

14. Window Crop Issue

    If I use multiple Screens, Indesgin and Illustrator (but mainly Indesign) has a huge problem of making the connection between screens. When I return after a short coffee break and unlock my device, indesign jumped in between my screens. I am not able to move indesign around in any screen as the menu bar is completely cropped and disappeared in between screens.
    I can restart my computer and indesign multiple times but it does not change. Also deconnecting my screen does not help.

    I kindly ask you to fix this issue or to give a solution for a work around, as I think the rate is quite high to have such workflow troubles. It makes me frustrated working with adobe sofrtware.

15. 2024 Windows version option to hide home screen is gone

    ID 2024 Windows the option "Show Home Screen When No Documents Are Open" is gone. Still present in macOS version. Just gone in Windows. Please fix.

16. InDesign 2024 — Personal workspace won’t display automatically anymore

    Until now, the personal workspace used to display automatically when opening the files.

    Instead of the personal workspace, InDesign now displays the workspace Essentials.

    Yesterday, I have been told by the Technical Support that this feature has been removed.

    According to the information I have received, it is not possible anymore to choose the workspace that will be displayed.

    This is absolute nonsense since it means:
    1. a loss of time — particularly when working on multiple files;
    2. a huge loss in the customization possibilities.

    PLEASE RESTORE THIS FEATURE!

17. Left toolbar missing Screen Mode selector

    When I use InDesign some times the Screen Mode selector is missing from the left Toolbar. The only fix is to change the Workspace to another and then back to the original workspace. The first image is the missing Screen Mode selector and the second image is how it should look. This happens on macOS Monterey (12) and macOS Ventura (13) and in both InDesign 19.0 and the previous InDesign 18.5.

19. Dialogbox "Fileinformation" nor correctly displayed

    When opening the "Fileinformation" dialogbox , the box is displayed, but too big and can not be resized. When trying to moved it, it can suddenly disappear and Indesign can only be closed via Taskmanager.

    This seems to be a bug existing since many years (since 2016 !!!) affecting HighDPI monitors and also being present in other Adobe CC apps:

    In my case it happened with latest Indesign (18.5...?), latest Win11 on a Lenovo notebook with a 15" HighDPI screen.

    this makes it also imposible to read the "About Indesign

20. Nothing changed, but InDesigns asks for saving changes

    When opening an object, doing nothing (or just print) and closing it, InDesign comes up with a dialog to save changes. That feels very uncomfortable - did I change something by accident?

    PS Pressing cmd-S for save brings up the Save As... dialog.
