  1. InDesign 20.4 Windows 11 Bug. UXP Plugin Panel and Dialog have incorrect behavior of html SELECT tag

    InDesign 20.4 Windows 11: After updating from version 20.3.1 to 20.4 UXP, the plugin, which worked fine in the previous version, now has problems with displaying dialogs and panels, namely:
    all SELECT tags on a panel are stopped responding to modification.
    Version 20.3.1 does not exhibit these problems; dialogs and panels display SELECT tags correctly and respond to user modifications.
    In version 20.4, SELECT tags respond only by changing the border color to blue; the list is not displayed at all. It is impossible to change the selected list item. In the dialog, this behavior is observed in all elements.…

  2. (Ver. 20.5) When measuring with the Gap Tool, the measurement remains grayed out

    (Ver. 20.5) When measuring with the Gap Tool, the measurement remains grayed out and is very difficult to read, especially in dark mode. When measuring with another tool, e.g. the Measure Tool, the boxes with coordinates and measurements activate.

  3. properties>fill panel expands off page

    Indesign Version 20.5 on OSX Tahoe

    When inDesign is at the top of the screen (i.e maximum screen size), opening the properties panel and then clicking on fill extends the fill sub menu up the screen, rendering half of the sub menu not visible unless you drag the whole application down. I don't think this is intended UI behaviour (hope not), and it's really frustrating to work with.

  4. placed .svg - can't double click to select the svg content

    Indesign 20.5, Windows 11, german

    settings, perhaps relevant to the bug:
    - is disabled: "highlight objects with selection tool"
    - Extras > "Content Selection Tool" disabled/enabled – makes no difference

    Context: you can double click pageItems with places images and vector graphics to move or scale the content.
    With a placed SVG i can NOT double click to get to the the transformable orange content borders.

    I am forced to use either the "direct selection tool" (white arrow), the content selection tool (focus ring), or the "select content" icon in the controlpanel.

    Can somebody confirm, please?

  5. Close/Minimize/Maximize buttons are hidden under the top menu on Mac OS

    For some reason the very top bar of the InDesign window is hidden underneath the top menu (File, Edit, etc.), making it impossible to minimize or move the window to another monitor. Currently the only solution I've found is to unplug my external monitor's HDMI cable from my Macbook which forces the InDesign window to appear properly.

  6. Indesign rimane incastrato negli angoli

    all'apertura del software, come si può notare in foto allegata, indesign rimane bloccato nell'angolo senza la possibilità di poterlo muovere in nessun modo, questo problema è presente ormai da diversi giorni e non riesco a capire come sistemare la situazione. Io uso il software per lavorare e facendo così non mi è permesso di continuare il mio lavoro. Ho provato ad disintallare e reinstallare, ma nulla.

  7. [ID-4214608]Page numbering of last pages not visible when View Pages is set to Horizontal in Pages panel.

    When the pages panel is filled up vertically with the pages, and when the panel is set to "View Pages > Horizontally," the panel does not scroll all the way to the bottom, and the page numbers of the bottom pages are cut off.

    This is easily reproducible in any new document with reset InDesign preferences.

  8. Better Text Box Controls

    Could the in port and out port boxes be shifted slightly away from the bounding box corners? They’re currently positioned very close to the resize handles, which makes it harder to resize text frames — a much more frequent action than linking text.

    While you're at it, please expand the interactive area around bounding box handles so the cursor stays in Scale mode slightly farther from the corners, reducing accidental switches to the Rotate tool when resizing objects.

  9. Application Window resizes to bottom half of screen after waking Mac from sleep

    Despite this long-standing issue being declared "fixed" in InDesign 2024 19.2, it's still happening. It's also happening with Illustrator and Photoshop.

    MacStudio, macOS 15.5, all Adobe apps up to date as of date of posting.

  10. main artboard disappears when plugging in or unplug display (GPU Viewing Problem)

    I work with switching setups on my macbook, sometimes without an external screen, sometimes i move to my home office and plug in a bigger display.

    When indesign is opened and a file is opened, you cant do that without having to save and reopen the document. Because whenever you attach or detach a display - the main artboard / window with pages turns completely grey / invisble and you cant see anything anymore, but you can hover the elements.

    Switching to "Overprint Preview" brings back the visibility, switching it off makes the pages invisible again. Same with "Preview on…

  11. spell check window opening partially off-screen InDesign 2025

    When I try to launch spell check it launches partially off-screen. I cannot use the spell check, resize it or even close it.

    I can close indesign and re-open and it closes the window. I have tried restarting the machine and opening it on an extended window but it still opens in the top left corner of my primary screen with the top half of the window off-screen.

  12. Selection Tool Doesn't Allow Dragging to Move After Windows Update

    Using InDesign 20.1 x64 on Windows 11. After the recent Windows security update (KB5051987), the Selection Tool no longer allows dragging to move elements on a second monitor. It could be related to the fact the monitors are not the same size and do not have the same UI scaling. It functions properly on my laptop screen but I normally work from my larger 2nd monitor and it is no longer functioning properly there. The Free Transform tool still works.

  13. Aligning objects keeps button selected

    When clicking align left edges / horizontal centres / vertical centres etc the button remains highlighted.
    Then when trying to use the keyboard arrows to move the previously selected object - object does not move with the arrow key inputs.
    This only happens on the top control panel rather than the separate align window.

  14. When Application Frame is Turned Off, News Windows Size Behind GUI/Tools

    I'm one of the many users that doesn't like the Application Frame in either Illustrator or InDesign because I usually like to drag&drop things or switch between applications on my Mac as I work creatively.

    I hate that when a new window is generated (opening a file or creating a new one) it is sized beyond the size of my laptop screen and always BEHIND my docked tools in both Illustrator and InDesign software. Photoshop has the sense not to do this so whats going on with these other tools???

  15. InDesign spacebar hand/zoom doesn't work when Brave browser is open on Mac

    I couldn't get the spacebar toggle to hand to work in InDesign - rebooted a few times and realized that it works fine as long as Brave browser is not open. Adobe updated a few days ago, and up until now it was working fine with the browser open. Any chance of a fix?

  16. Two Monitors - UI Window Always Loads Off Screen - Can't Resize Mac OS 14.5

    This has been a bug for at least 5 years with InDesign (see link at the bottom of the post).

    When a Mac user has two monitors, if the primary monitor is situated "lower" than the secondary monitor in a side-by-side configuration in the Display "Arrange" setting (see screenshot, main display is laptop, on right), then the windows will always load slightly off screen, locking the user out of moving them or rearranging them.

    There is a temporary fix to put the main monitor "higher" than the secondary monitor in the horizontal arrangement.

    However, this is an unacceptable long term…

  17. palettes position in full screen

    when in full screen mode, in my particular workspace (which I like, hence why I use it) certain fly out menus don't know that I am in this mode and try to fly up without considering that they are 'off the screen'. So I tend to temporarily change the view mode, do my edit, and then put things back to full screen. Is this a bug? Shouldn't anything the pops open or 'flies out' know where the edge of my screen is, especially in full screen mode?

  18. Palettes not docking in the sidebar

    I seem to be having more trouble 'docking' palettes, or dragging them into a group on the sidebar on the right. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this resistance?

    When I drag a floating palette onto a closed group, it highlights blue, but I think it used to disappear and you could decide where in the group you wanted to put it, or even into another group or by itself. Currently, there is a light highlight on the group, but when released, it remains floating. When dragged to an open area, the floating palette dims, and will dock by itself.

  19. pasteboard color will not change at all

    pasteboard color will not change -- it stays dark gray. I want it light gray but it will not change to any color, much less light gray.

    Overprint preview is OFF.

    this bug exists in both indesign 2022 and indesign 2025 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.7.5 / dark mode
    5K intel iMac 24GB RAM.

    I don't use ID2025 because it is totally unusable on sonoma on intel iMac -- but tested it to see if the pasteboard color bug is there too and it is.

    definitely exists since recent sonoma and ID updates late 2024/2025.

  20. Icon Panels do not expand correctly when Application Frame is OFF.

    Recurring issue from one InDesign upgrade to the next! Found 2- and 6-year old reports of the same bug. In-between updates fix it but reoccurs with every new upgrade...

    ISSUE
    When Application Frame is disabled, panels that are on the right side of the screen don't expand towards the left as they normally would but to the right.
    The bigger the UI scaling size, the more to the right of the screen the panel expansion moves, soon disappearing altogether. Only smallest sizing allows to display properly.
