1. shift command does not work for scaling

   I think others have had this problem but I can't find a current stream. I can not scale proportionately an image or text by holding the Shift and Command keys and dragging. I am running CC 15.1.2 I tried to revert back to the previous version with no luck. I tried this with a couple of versions. Is there an issue with IOS 10.15.6? I think that just updated as well.

2. Frustrated - lagging pointer

   In order to get my mouse cursor to a legible size, I need to enlarge the cursor size in system preferences.

   But I just determined with a tech support after 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES. That enlarging my cursor is causing lag in InDesign.

   He said (paraphrasing), "It's your fault for not upgrading to Big Sur."

   I said, "Well is OSX Mojave supported in InDesign 2021??"

   He said, "Yes."

   I said, "I want to report this as a bug."

   He said, "Go to this bug support page."

   I said, "No one has ever replied to me when I go to indesign.uservoice.com."

   He said, "They will reply to you."

   So that's why I'm reporting this here.

   You give me no good options. Either I have to resize the cursor small in order to move it around in InDesign. Or else, I can see the cursor and it moves slow.

   BTW, this bug does NOT happen in Illustrator, Photoshop, (nor in my other design programs) but only in InDesign!

   This is below my expectations for this software. Disappointing.

   You are the Forbes biggest growing company or whatever. Put some more money into fixing bugs, and your bug extermination squad.

3. InDesign 2020 15.0.1 CEP panel size bug on Windows HiDPI with scaling > 100%

   On some Windows workstations, my InDesign CEP panel has the wrong size (way too large). This looks like a re-surfacing of the old bug mentioned here:

   Install this dummy sample 'Hello World' panel into InDesign 15.0.1 on Windows 10 on a workstation with a HiDPI display. Make sure the Windows Display Scaling it set to 100%

5. Indesign 2020 intolerable lag of up to 10 seconds when switching from selection to text tools

   Since the latest update, InDesign has extensive trouble switching from selection to text tools. This appears to be exacerbated by having more than one layout file open. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, i9 system with 64GB of ram. I've reinstalled, deleted preferences, reduced fonts installed, deactivated preflight, deactivated opentext options bug on boxes. The problem is very repeatable and proving a major work disruption.

   Make immediate tabbing between Width and Height without going thru Units.
   Right now goes 1-Width 2-Units 3-Height

9. pages panel

   Hi, when I have the Pages panel open and add a few pages or spreads, I can't see the numbers of the final pages, they're hidden by a blank panel. Could someone please look into this or provide a workaround. Screen shot attached.

10. Correct UI Resolution for 4K Screens

    I have a 4K laptop (Dell XPS 15"), and the UI is just too small. Not small as in "I wish it was bigger", but rather "It is impossible to interact with the UI".

    From scrolling through forums and such, it seems that this problem exists since 2014 or so, when 4K screens where a rare sighting.
    But now these screens are becoming more popular, and the fact that they aren't supported by InDesign is pretty absurd. Especially when other programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier etc.) work completely fine.

    I've seen suggestions for workarounds that have to do with setting the program DPI and the scaling that Windows does, but the only thing it does is stretch the UI to the point of bad pixelation and an overall bad experience.

11. Relinking / opening new documents window broken

    When I try to relink or open a new document (anything that involves locating a file from my MAC) I can no longer select shortcuts from my sidebar. The folder icons are placeholder documents rather than folder icons. Clicking on them has no effect.

13. CMD+O (Open File Dialog) Doesn't work after new 15.0 and 15.0.2 releases.

    CMD+O no longer opens the "Open File Dialog" upon first entering InDesign after launch. Once you open a file thru the Menu, CMD+O starts working properly.

    This was an issue in a previous version release, and now it has turned up again in this latest release.

14. Wrong translation of “Publish online” UI in Czech language

    Please correct wrong translation of "Single" and "Spread". In the latest version of InDesign the translation means "One FIle" and "Extension", crazy, isn't it? Please follow the long established terminology developed in old days when you did ask humans to translate UI items and you did consult it with local experts: the names are correct in InDesign PDF export dialog, so why don't you reuse the correct terminology?
    The correct form is "Stránky" and "Dvojstránky".

    !!! PLEASE stop using robots or Google Translate for new features in InDesign !!!

15. Books Panel Does Not Operate as a Standard Panel

    The Books panel does not operate in the same manner as other, standard panels. When re-positioned, the panel size is changed, and the Workspace is updated or a new workspace is created, the Books panel does not 'remember' the changes that were placed on it. For the user, this is extremely frustrating behavior. The books panel should, at a minimum, remember its position/size in relation to a given workspace.

18. [UI] Edit in Textmode – window won't open

    When opening the "Edit in Textmode" / "Im Textmodus bearbeiten" (cmd + Y) the window will not show up.

    I have tested this on several macs in our company with different kind of additional monitor setups or no extra monitor attached.

    InDesign Version 15.1.1

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Take what ever textframe you want => Cmd + Y or rightclick "Im Textmodus bearbeiten" / "Edit in Textmode"
    2. The Window will not show up and you might think it is broken...
    3. It shows up when you go to New => Page for example (Or probably update the UI in any way? not sure - did not test much further but this works)

20. Change font without changing style

    Assume that I have selected some text which contains instances of bold, italic, or other "styles" (not INDD "styles," but variations of a typeface within a specific font family).

    In previous versions of InDesign, I used to be able to change the typeface of the selected text, and maintain all instances of bold, italic, etc. In newer versions of InDesign, this is only possible when I navigate to the new font family by scrolling through the menu; when I search for a font family, I am presented with only the specific members of the family, not the family itself. This means that no matter which family member (roman, italic, etc) I choose, I will be losing for formatting already applied to the text. Please restore the ability to change the font without specifying a "style"/family member when choosing a typeface by typing its name into the font menu box. Thank you.
