1. Recents on Home screen Ability to pin indesign projects on the home landing screen

   A frustration with indesign and an opportunity to improve. As a user of indesign I want to be able to pin certain projects I am working on and see them on the landing home screen. (Currently I have to rely on win folders to store projects).

   So that I can easily locate projects that are of value and referenced not so regularly

2. New Share tutorial animation loops continuously when opening ID, with no affordance to terminate.

   When opening the application, ID can dramatically improve the user experience and the opportunity to show new features (in this case, the new Share feature) by giving the user a choice to opt-into learning about a said new feature by presenting the user with a [yes | no | maybe later | never show again] dialog message.

   Currently, on a MacBook Pro running Catalina (10.15.7), ID 2021 immediately starts looping a tutorial animation within a fairly large overlay which appears to be intended to promote the new Share functionality. This all happens immediately when the rest of the UI is rendered onto the screen with the overlay sitting above the rest of the UI covering up about 50% of the available real estate. The looping is infinite and without any obvious mechanism or user affordance to hide the tutorial or close it. This happens on the first run of the newly updated app (2020 > 2021). I have not tried to see if it would do the same thing on a second and third run.

4. set default open folder

   Upgraded to ID 16.0.1x64 today on a Win 10 64 system. File Open, or File Save, both want to use "This PC > Documents" and not the original file folder. Didn't have this problem prior to the upgrade.

5. Option-Click and Drag

   InDesign 16.0.1. (and prior)

   I updated to Catalina OS on Mac. Option-Click no longer works as it should. It is supposed to straight duplicate one time. Now it is acting as a step and repeat and is creating 2 duplicates instead of one. Please help. I can't find how to fix this.

6. InDesign 16.0.2 still does not allow making new folder under SaveAs dialog and Cmd+P also does not work

   Updated version of InDesign (16.0. and 16.0.2) does not allow making new folder when using Save As or Open dialog on MacOS Mojave. Also you can not use Cmd+P shortcut in the same dialog - this is very helpful shortcut that opens current folder in Finder. Adobe WHY are you bringing new bugs all the time for things that worked just great :(

7. Superscript and subscript buttons do not produce the font’s superscript and subscript figures

   Clicking on the superscript/subscript buttons scales the selected glyphs to a seemingly random size, placing them on a default height,
   * ignoring all of the dedicated OS/2 values in the font: subscriptXOffset, subscriptYOffset, subscriptXSize, subscriptYSize, superscriptXOffset, superscriptYOffset, superscriptXSize, superscriptYSize,
   * and ignoring subs, sinf and sups OpenType features in the font.

8. shortcuts numpad not working

11. ScriptUI: Opening Dialog while dialog is open breaks InDesign

    I'm running InDesign 14.0.2 on a macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

    In a script i created I have a Dialog. It has a button that opens another dialog.

    Before my last indesign-update (CC 14.0.2) the second dialog would open and when i closed it, i could use the previous dialog window again.

    Now with the Update when I open the second dialog and close it again, i cant use (or close) the previous dialog and it blocks me from using InDesign. I can move the dialogwindow around but thats it so i have to restart indesign.

    I tested this on two colleague's system with the same InDesign version (14.0.2) and had the same result.
    I tested this on a colleague's system with 14.0.1 and it worked as intended. (Also it worked for me before the update)

    Attached is a testscript with the dialogs and a short videodemonstration.

    Pls fix this, as we use this function to change settings in configfiles for scripts we use.

    Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.

13. Smart guides not working at all

    Snap to grid and smart guides or any function where cursor automatically snaps to edge, corner, or center point is not working. I am currently using version 16.0. I have restarted the program 5 times. All of these features are check marked and turned on despite the features not working at all.

    I will not work on my project because of this issue. I need to rely on the precise support of smart guides and snap to guides in order to do what I have to do. I'm very disappointed with this bug and upset I'm set back so much time. I spend a lot on this software. I'm providing pictures to show the functions are turned on but the cursor does not turn pink and snap to center of circle or edge.

    I really need this fixed.

14. Disappearing cursor with Big Sur v11.0.1 and InCopy 2019 v14.0.2

    Last month, we had issues with InCopy 2020, so we switched back to the more reliable 2019 version. Now, I (foolishly) updated the Big Sur (version 11.0.1) and now my cursor has disappeared and I have tried every suggestion to no avail (restarting the program, restarting the computer, and trashing InCopy preferences).

    I'm running InCopy 2019 (v 14.0.2) on my 2017 iMac Pro, 3.2 GHz 8-core Intel Xeon W, with 64 GB 2666 MHz DDR4.

    Any suggestions would be helpful (and by the way, I can't see the cursor in Layout, Story, or Galley mode).

15. Adobe InDesign (Build 15.0.3) - Italian UI Translation issue

    Good morning,

    I have found a (severe) translation bug in the InDesign 15.0.3 Italian User Interface,

    In the dialog "Text Frame Column Rule Options", in Italian UI "Opzioni regola colonna frame di testo", of "Object Styles" the English term "Rule/Rules" has been erroneously translated as "Regola/Regole" instead of "Filetto/Filetti".

    Thank you for amending it in a future CU, as it is really misleading.

16. shift command does not work for scaling

    I think others have had this problem but I can't find a current stream. I can not scale proportionately an image or text by holding the Shift and Command keys and dragging. I am running CC 15.1.2 I tried to revert back to the previous version with no luck. I tried this with a couple of versions. Is there an issue with IOS 10.15.6? I think that just updated as well.

17. Frustrated - lagging pointer

    In order to get my mouse cursor to a legible size, I need to enlarge the cursor size in system preferences.

    But I just determined with a tech support after 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES. That enlarging my cursor is causing lag in InDesign.

    He said (paraphrasing), "It's your fault for not upgrading to Big Sur."

    I said, "Well is OSX Mojave supported in InDesign 2021??"

    He said, "Yes."

    I said, "I want to report this as a bug."

    He said, "Go to this bug support page."

    I said, "No one has ever replied to me when I go to indesign.uservoice.com."

    He said, "They will reply to you."

    So that's why I'm reporting this here.

    You give me no good options. Either I have to resize the cursor small in order to move it around in InDesign. Or else, I can see the cursor and it moves slow.

    BTW, this bug does NOT happen in Illustrator, Photoshop, (nor in my other design programs) but only in InDesign!

    This is below my expectations for this software. Disappointing.

    You are the Forbes biggest growing company or whatever. Put some more money into fixing bugs, and your bug extermination squad.

18. InDesign 2020 15.0.1 CEP panel size bug on Windows HiDPI with scaling > 100%

    On some Windows workstations, my InDesign CEP panel has the wrong size (way too large). This looks like a re-surfacing of the old bug mentioned here:

    Install this dummy sample 'Hello World' panel into InDesign 15.0.1 on Windows 10 on a workstation with a HiDPI display. Make sure the Windows Display Scaling it set to 100%

20. Indesign 2020 intolerable lag of up to 10 seconds when switching from selection to text tools

    Since the latest update, InDesign has extensive trouble switching from selection to text tools. This appears to be exacerbated by having more than one layout file open. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, i9 system with 64GB of ram. I've reinstalled, deleted preferences, reduced fonts installed, deactivated preflight, deactivated opentext options bug on boxes. The problem is very repeatable and proving a major work disruption.
