Rename placed images (Bulk)
Be able to rename already placed images in InDesign as a bulk, something similar to Adobe Bridge Batch Rename, the issue with Bridge will be I will have to place each image at a time in InDesign if I used Bridge to rename my images.

Fix the defaults
People rarely go into preferences and change the defaults. So for them it’s important to have good default values from the start. For people who know how to change the defaults it’s helpful if those defaults start out with the right values.
I’m talking about the font size and leading increments and kerning/tracking value increments. Why would the default increment be two points for font size and leading, not one? Does Adobe think we want to make it faster to greatly increase the point size at the expense of not being able to dial in the exact point size size we need? The same with leading. If I’m trying to adjust leading with keyboard shortcuts I want to at least have the ability to get the exact point I want. Two points is obviously the wrong increment, and it has been for over a decade.
Kerning and tracking are probably not adjusted by most users. For those of us that do we want a finer increment than twenty units. Five is the correct value here.
Please, save us professionals the trouble of changing the defaults by setting them properly from the start.
Oh, and these preferences should be application wide preferences, not document preferences. When I use the shortcut I expect consistent behaviour. If I increase the point size by two presses of the shortcut I expect to increase point size by two points. If I use the same shortcut on the same computer using the same version of InDesign but on a document created by another designer the shortcut might behave differently. Why would I want that to happen? The preferences for keyboard increment shouldn’t be saved with the document, they should be an application preference.

InDesign index review. Add word highlighting when selecting the entry.
The InDesign index feature is really neat, except when trying to review the entries that are added after using the add all command. This is especially problematic when multiple entries for that word exist on the page. Currently, I have to click "go to selected marker" where it puts my insertion point at the beginning of the marker. These are very difficult to locate, especially when using 4K monitors.
Instead, it would be nice if I could click the marker entry in the index panel and have it magically take me to the page AND highlight the entry so that I can see it in context.
Minimally, if we could add the ability to highlight the entry when clicking the "Go to marker" button, it would make a world of difference.

InDesign should feature the same shape corner handles as Illustrator
It works so well! And has been adapted by XD. I'd love to see those little circular rounded corner handles in InDesign for shapes.

Actions! Photoshop has had that for 20 years or so -- and it saves tons of time. In ID, I have to endlessly repeat these manual maneuvers.
This is a non-brainer feature idea, and has been that for 20 years. Actions!

Enable more functions in right click
I wish right click would bring up more options - for example, right clicking a linked file should give me the option to 'reveal in finder' but I have to open the links pallets to get that. It would improve my workflow no end.

Creative Cloud Documents - File Open facility needs vital features
I think one of the most important facilities for making good use of Cloud Docs will be document management. I have been extremely frustrated by the total lack of such features in the recent Document Open interface, which just lists some very small number of recent docs, without any consideration of folders, projects, clients, or other important organizational features. The OS provides us with hierarchical folders that can do a fairly good job of organizing the dozens (sometimes hundreds) of files on a project or for a client, but without some facilities for that purpose, I can see the proliferation of dozens (hundreds?) of cloud docs, now encompassing multiple Adobe applications, turning into a nightmare of disorganization.
The basis of any file management system has to be the provision and support of metadata. This probably will require sidecar files, or at least a central Adobe db of filenames and attributes. The simplest facility would be allowing users to create open-ended KEY WORDS for individual files, since that doesn't have to involve a hierarchical database. Files can be tagged by project, by in-house creator, by client contact name, by client company, or anything else that helps.
Here's an example I deal with every day --
For one client, I an designing a book interior: graphics, layout, typesetting, etc. Since it's a 500-page volume, I use separate InDesign files for each of its 55 chapters. After performing an operation on the "book" (metadata managed in InDesign), every chapter file is modified. So from then on, all I ever see in the Document Open interface is the last 30 chapter titles. This is absolutely useless! What I need to see is the files I'm working on for other clients, other projects for this client, the chapters I'm currently most concerned with, and so on.
Please consider these issues as you develop further facilities in support of Adobe Cloud Documents.

EPUB Exporting option (Merge paragraph styles option)
EPUB Exporting option (Merge paragraph styles option)
I am making book layouts and facing an issue during the Epub export. I have book chapters that use two paragraph styles. The first style is for line one, "Chapter X" and the second paragraph style is for the next line with the chapter name. I can't use the same Paragraph style for both lines because they should be formatted differently.
My question is, can you add a feature that allows using a chain of paragraph styles to create an Epub table of contents? The chain can use the very first style formatting and add the second line with the different paragraph style at the end of the first one keeping the format of the text as it was in the very first style.
To illustrate what I'm writing about:
Here is what I have now on the epub TOC after export:
First TOC line [Paragraph style 1]: "Chapter X"
Second TOC line [Paragraph style 2]: "Chapter name"What I am excepting to get:
First TOC line [Paragraph style 1 + Paragraph style 2 (which convert its format style to style 1)]: "Chapter X. Chapter name"So two paragraph styles are merged into the one Epub style, which allows getting a single TOC string.
And also need to make a divider between two merged paragraphs. The divider can be "." or ":" or some other character. This needs to separate "Chapter X" from the "Chapter name" to make it like "Chapter X. Chapter name" and not "Chapter X Chapter name".

Keyboard shortcut to adjust paragraph indents
I'd like to be able to quickly adjust the left, right, first and last line indents of my paragraph using a Quick Apply or a custom keyboard shortcut.
I find it strange that it doesn't already exist, given the countless other basic adjustments available in the shortcuts panel.

Locking Tab Bar
It would be really helpful if the user had the ability to lock the tabs bar under the rulers in inDesign. It's an annoyance to have it floating and having to re-open it constantly. It would be nice to have the tabs panel located right underneath the ruler and then give the option to hide it or show it.

Option to set Overprint at 0 % color value
I would like to be able to set objects which are colored with 0% color value(halftone) to overprint.
I need this function for example to color objects with the color varnish and to get correct color separations. Because everything that is colored with varnish should overprint.
Until now I correct this in the PDF I export from Indesign. But it would be desirable if this setting could already be made in Indesign.

Give one-sided versus two-sided option in print dialog box
Most software allows me to select one-sided versus two-sided printing in the print dialog box. Indesign requires that I go into the printer setup to make that change.

Find missing characters
Sometimes a character is unavailable and InDesign highlights this with a pink box. However there seems to be no way to Search for these - one has to visually spot them on a page to be able to fix them. Please implement a Find feature

Increment Settings for Tracking/Kerning Applied to Control Panel Interface
Idea referenced in the link below.
This idea is already implemented in the preferences menu under Units & Increments but it's only applied to keyboard shortcuts. I don't see why this setting wouldn't be included for the tracking and kerning settings in the control panel. As mentioned in the link, needing to let go of the mouse just to adjust tracking is a nuisance.
I never increase tracking by 10 when typesetting to adjust for the rag of a text block. Having the increments hard set to 10 effectively makes the control panel useless to me when typesetting. Oddly this isn't an issue in Illustrator, where values increase by one, the program where I ironically would be more likely to use more artistic license with text spacing.
Searched for the idea but I saw nothing here.

Option to add hidden character on/off button the toolbar
Just a little toggle button on the toolbar so you don't have to click Type > Show/Hide Hidden Characters, for those of us who turn it on and off repeatedly. I swear an older version had it.

InCopy - Split screen view for Story and Layout
In Incopy it's only possible to use one view. Gallery, Story or Layout.
It would be great if we could also combine 2 views into one. With the 27" displays now in general use, we should be able to show one half of the screen in Story mode and one half in Layout mode.
This allows for users who need to change texts to show also the overset text in the story mode when the text in layout mode is not visible (due to the overset text).
Sometimes when editing the texts in Layout mode and then switching to Story mode you need to scroll and find the text you were working on.
In the new split screen a person would select a text in Layout or Story mode, the other screen would also show the selected text.
I've added a screenshot of how it would look.
