How can we improve InDesign?

Adjust Layout - Off by default please.

Finding the new Adjust Layout in InDesign 2019 a bit of a liability as is turned ON by default.

Can you please add a setting to turn off globally and turn on only when needed? Currently doesn't seem possible.

Thanks

The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update (14.0.2) of InDesign 2019.

If you are unable to see the update notification, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.

If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.

Please change the default setting for Adjust Layout to Off. If this package is designed for professionals, surely it should be our choice when to add in rarely used, automated features like this, not to have to remember to switch them off for every document.

Please kill it. It's the worst feature Adobe has added. If you change the bleeds or document size and don't notice the "auto adjust", your work gets messed up and becomes very costly if you didn't catch it!.
PLEASE remove it or give us an option to turn it off permanently.
    Thank you!

Please turn the "Auto-adjust Size" to "off" by default. This function has a serious impact on our file modification and it can easily lead to errors.

In our production workflow, we are constantly adjusting document and margin sizes in client files to add additional bleed, pole pockets, hems, etc. We cannot have the original layout changing during these operations. With adjust layout, we are forced to click something off every time. And, it's very easy to miss this step, have our client file adjusted in scale by mistake, print a job and have it rejected because it's slightly too large or small. I echo those here who say please update this ASAP so we can turn it off completely. I will never, ever need this feature in a pro print shop. And, it could end up costing us a lot of money if we miss turning it off manually for every single file.

YES!!! This is a RIDICULOUS feature that only belongs in ****** programs like Word or Publisher.
As a professional service providers with thousands of client files we work on, having this feature turned on by default is unacceptable and dangerous. On top of that, the 'first character typed' problem still exists in CC 2019.. a real pain too. We've been losing faith in Adobe products over the last few years as they've become less stable.

Chiming in to add that this feature is completely unnecessary and unintuitive. It has nearly destroyed important documents that I am working on. Off by default, please and thank you.

Yes this is really annoying, please allow us to turn it off in preferences so I don't have to do it for every individual document!

Yes, please. It's so annoying. There are waaaay less situations when I need this option ON than OFF.

Please turn it off by default or give us the chance to remove it globally. As it wasn't default the past years it causes nothing but problems with our workflow…

Please allow us to remove globally turn off this feature. We've nearly ruined multiple jobs in our press shop.

As a manager at a printing company, this "feature" is bound to cause problems and cost us money in the event we have to re-run jobs due to something moving/scaling/changing. This should be off by default. Luckily I caught it when adjusting margins, prior to burning plates for a job.

This "feature" can cause layout disasters when text boxes are arbitrarily resized. This is not helpful. Please allow users to decide if they want this off or on without another new step involved (unchecking the box EVERY TIME) in a simple operation like adjusting margins. Very annoying.
