GPU-Acceleration on Windows
It would be brilliant to have this as an option especially since more and more people are using high DPI/4K displays and the CPU is not capable of allowing for smooth zooming/scrolling/panning in most cases. It's working perfectly fine with Photoshop and rather good with Illustrator so I can't see why this shouldn't be possible with InDesign as well.
On my 4K Dell XPS 15 it's quite a pain to scroll through the document or zoom in and out, laggy as hell although this is a very poweful machine!
Thank you all for supporting this feature request.
Moving the feature request to the product backlog.

As an aside, for those who are concerned about InDesign performance overall, I recommend upvoting this thread:
https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/32235082-support-for-multicores-performance
It applies for both Windows and Mac.
There is also one for Illustrator performance:

I can't believe that in 2022 this kind of program doesn't have GPU acceleration for Windows users!
It is even worse to know that even for Apple computers the option is only available for some Mac systems.

This really is a shame specially when the competition already has support for GPU acceleration and the price of the software is A LOT cheaper! -

I was searching for a reason why indesign runs so poorly and came across this... I have a core I9, RTX gpu and Indesign runs hillariously bad... This is a must!!!

I am amazed and disappointed. The lack of GPU support in the new version of indesign is a horror. Even the covid 19 quarantine and the netflix shows look less terrible and disappointing

Yay! A new version of InDesign! Now, certainly, after literally 5 years of asking, they've incorporated GPU acceleration...
Nope. -

Its been years!!! When and "added to the product backlog" a year ago.. when will this be released?
for the amount of money you guys are making from creative cloud subscriptions, this is a spit in the face to your users. -

I really like having better hardware than a Mac Pro, but far worse rendering capabilities in InDesign. A $20000 computer performs almost the same as a $1000 computer in InDesign, when you're using Windows. All that seems to matter is single core speed. Having a 64 core Threadripper 3995wx is no faster than my old i7 9700k at work, even though the TR absolutely obliterates the i7 for every kind of video or 3d editing workload. No GPU acceleration, and still basically stuck on a single core. And now it's even more expensive! Great job, Adobe.

I really doubt that anyone from Adobe is reading our comments.
I'm quite sure Apple is paying Adobe to slow down development for Windows because there is no logical reason to not implement such an critical function.
It's an absurd that InDesign warms my CPU like **** for no good reason.
Optimization of this software for Windows is tragic.
Adobe, you suppose to facilitate creators work who are PAYING for your software. Not slowing them down.
How hard can it be to include OpenGL acceleration? Literally all GPUs suport OpenGL.
Taking money for this is shameless. -

I really really want with feature to be added on InDesign, i hate the one click zoom thing, it slows down my working process a lot !!

Absolutely critical. Currently editing ID elements in AI just for better design speed and flexibility. Extremely counter-intuitive.

I completely agree with David Mora. Please fix this ASAP!!!!!!
It's over a year and the GPU-Acceleration on windows is not active. Having a 3080 at work and a 3070 at home and having issues with this software it's really a pain. I don't know how other people works, but I have Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Maya, Chrome, Substance Painter and UE4 open at the same time working on the same project, and Indesign is the only one that I have laggy issues it really bothers

We really need this feature! This is unworkable right now. We are all working on Windows to reduce costs to our clients and to have maximum flexibility installing our programs and running servers.

Licences are expensive enough as they are.. Please make this happen to speed up my workflow a ton! :) -

Please Adobe, how is it that for several years this problem has only been implemented for the Mac and not on Windows? This is really a slap in the face. No wonder they say that the Mac is better for graphic designers if Adobe doesn't change such a situation!
I'm patiently and desperately waiting for this feature to finally be built into the Windows version, and I get annoyed every time I work in InDesign when the graphics build up is so slow.
