Ability to add alternate text to long hyperlinks
One of the suggested techniques for complying with WCAG 2.0 AA is to provide alternate text for long urls so that screen readers read the alt text rather than the url when tabbing through. This can only be done in acrobat at the moment. Which means it has to be done every time a PDF is created. Make the Package feature open by default in the same folder where the indd file is located
Make the Package feature open by default in the same folder where the indd file is located. That is, when it's asking me which folder to place the package folder into. Currently it opens in the last folder Package feature was used to make a package.
E.g.
1. I have indd in C:\1\1.indd
2. I use the Package function to make a package like C:\1\1 Folder
3. I have another indd in C:\2\2.indd
4. If I use the Package function now, when it first asks me which folder to put the package into, it shows me C:\1\, and I have…9 votes -
Estimated Output Size
When saving a PDF output, it would be nice to choose your saving options (image quality, resolution) and get an estimated size. Like if you know you need something under 10MB, you could adjust your settings to match that without having to retry saving until you get the right size.

Allow default stroke alignment to be "Inside" even if default stroke is zero
I want to set the default stroke weight to Zero and the alignment to Inside. You can't do this. If you set default weight to Zero the default alignment setting is grayed out. So every time I have to add a stroke to a box I have to change the stroke alignment or it increases the size of the box. (If the default stroke weight is anything other than zero you CAN set the default alignment. Setting the alignment and then changing the stroke back to zero doesn't work. The default of Center returns.)

Allow document to be editable while using "FIND FONT"
Add the ability to edit and interact with the underlying document while the FIND FONT window is open (just like we can do while the regular FIND/CHANGE window is open)
When FIND FONT is open, the ONLY thing we can do is locate/substitute fonts. We aren't able to interact with the document in any other way. Often while using FIND FONT to locate where missing fonts are used, we find that the issue is actually just some text that we forgot to style properly, or a rogue invisible character that should simply be deleted. Allow import of endnotes as plain text
I have to be honest. The footnote / endnotes automation in Indesign is a complete failure. I absolutely HATE it!!! Please, allow me to turn this feature off, and import endnotes as plain text in the same text flow as the article. Seriously, the addition of the automated endnotes feature has damaged my relationship with Adobe. It is just terrible.

Bring back ExtendScipt Toolkit for High Sierra and InDesign CC 2018. The older version of ExtendScript works but the newer does not work. What is the reason for discontinuing ExtendScripts Toolkit? I have 12 designers with a subscription for each one of them and 6 of those designers rely on ExtendScript Toolkit for one of their workflows.

Add Endnote Support for InCopy
Please add endnote support for Adobe InCopy. Without it, InCopy sadly is pretty much useless.
InDesign Footnotes are too inflexible and working with manual Footnotes is not really feasible in larger documents.9 votesEndnote support was added to InCopy in version 2020.

Why is the InDesign Bug Fix not part of the program download?
Just downloaded the InDesign 2018 yesterday, but the bug fix is dated November 3.
9 votesI understand the confusion and apologise for the same. Before we could get out the issues in a release we posted the workaround plugins for any users who were blocked due to the bugs.
We have now send out an update to all InDesign users which has those bug fixes in them. Again sorry for the inconvenience.

CC Libraries, global changes
It'd be great to be able to update Character and Paragraph Styles used in CC Libraries over multiple documents. Frankly, I was shocked to find out I wasn't able to do this.

Change the page size
When changing the page size, the current page content is centered relative to the new size. Or it would be nice, if I could choose to attach current content to one of the corners of the page, the same way I can choose the transformation anchor point (the square with the nine anchor points)

1. Is the situation that you have created a design already or have an existing design and now need to change the page size. Any description on why you need to change the page would be helpful.
2. How drastic is the page size change. Is it just a minor change or is it something like changing from portrait mode to landscape.
3. Please share links to any screenshot of the document where you recently needed this feature. This would help us better understand this request. -
Footnotes from all text frames and tables on every page
My booklets almost always have a complex layout with some (2-5) tables with visible or invisible borders and (2-5) text frames on one page.
I need there a consistent numbering of footnotes at the end of the page or spread from all tables and text frames on that page (separate for every page). I.e. real footnotes for the whole page not for a single text frame.A lot of people for sure have the same issue.
New endnotes feature in October 2017 update does not resolve the problem at all.

Universal UI & Export Feature
Can it please be possible to export your workspace to then import it onto another computer so we don't have to re-arrange everything every time we move or have to reinstall?
It would be even better if when we log into our Adobe ID on any device, that our own workspace arrangement loads.

Provide Ability to Print Selection
Where I work, we create printed publications and also design advertisements for these publications. All of our advertisements are designed in a document using a standard InDesign template with a grid. This template is the same size as our publications and is larger than the standard letter size page dimensions that we like to print our proofs. The problem is that in order to print proofs on letter size paper, the ad must always be shrunk because of the larger document template dimensions. play video without controls
Please make it possible to hide the controls of a video clip - so its working in Publish online (right now its only working in PDF exports.
With this we could make amazing publish documents with integrated video backdrops of skys, fires or rain.. With all the NON VIDEO CONTROL goodness.
What im trying to say is video without controls can do magical things (like we could back in the good days of ... Flash.. the good days right... :)

Please allow font size larger than 1296 pt
I often have to create large posters with a single 3-digit price and 1296pt font isn't cutting it. I have to outline and then enlarge which is a pain when changes need to be made but it i also cannot standardize this element with a style, master page or template. Same for illustrator.

Indexes
When creating an Index, you are limited to populate ONLY one Index style format. If you want create more Indexes like the Index format, you can't, you are forced to use the Table of Contents style. Look at MS Word, you can create a General Index, a Index of Cases and Index of Figures.
My suggestion: improve the Index function with the ability to create multiple Indexes, that follow the actual Index format (not the Table of Contents Format)

Bring Back the DPI!
Dear Adobe,
How could you get rid of the term DPI, especially in InDesign, and replace it with PPI?!!!! As a print designer for the last 15 years, it breaks my heart to see that the premiere software company for designers has abandoned a term that is part of the fundamental lexicon of graphic design. I am a print designer at a CA State University and it kills me that our graphic design students graduate with an BA in Art/Graphic Design without having set foot inside a print shop! Isolate levels in a group
Be able to double click to reach a group object but isolate all the objects in that grouping level, e.g:
You have a placed graphic with flyouts or annotations but if its grouped and more often than not you have to double-click edit and exit the group and keep double-clicking until you reach your desired object.9 votes
