Pair Kerning
There are many occasions where a specific pair of letters do not kern properly, such as ". I would like to be able to select the pair of letters from a particular font that I want kerned throughout an InDesign document, and have them automatically kerned. I don't want to have to apply a style to each instance, or find and replace each instance.

Bring Back the DPI!
Dear Adobe,
How could you get rid of the term DPI, especially in InDesign, and replace it with PPI?!!!! As a print designer for the last 15 years, it breaks my heart to see that the premiere software company for designers has abandoned a term that is part of the fundamental lexicon of graphic design. I am a print designer at a CA State University and it kills me that our graphic design students graduate with an BA in Art/Graphic Design without having set foot inside a print shop! lowercase icon should match the other text modification icons in the Control Panel
With InDesign 20.4 the option to lowercase text was added. But the icon in the Control Panel differs from the other icons shown there.
Please modify it, maybe like I did in the image attached to this feature request:
red = actual UI
green = better versionOf course the icon team of Adobe will make an even better solution than my simply drawing.

Option to Set Default Save Location for AI-Generated Content to Project Folder in InDesign
Thank you for introducing the new AI-powered image generation feature in InDesign.
I would like to suggest an improvement to the way AI-generated content is stored. Currently, these assets are saved by default to the local user folder, which can become problematic when multiple team members need to collaborate on a project. InDesign to PDF - Table Accessibility. Please add a way to scope and add an ID to table heading cells. Add a way to then associate table headers to data cells. Ensure that the table elements are properly exported to PDF tags. No table tags are available to be mapped to any InDesign style using Export Tags.

I hope to Index "Index entry", "page reference" and "Yomi" CSV export Feature.
Currently, the Japanese version does not sort as expected and the indexing function is difficult to use.
It would also reduce the difficulty of indexing in multi-person operations.索引の「項目」「ページ番号」「読み」をCSVで書き出せるようにして欲しい。
現状、日本語版はソートが期待通りいかず、索引機能が使いづらいものとなっている。

Preserve PDF export settings for document only
PDF export settings are actually preserved application wide. When exporting different documents InDesign remembers the settings and uses them for the next document. If you have to export only one page of one document you will export only one page of the next document (if that page exists).
InDesign should be able to store the export settings in the document if the user wishes to.9 votes -
Auto Layout of text frames (ala Figma auto layout)
Currently InDesigns' text frame fitting options are really powerful... but it would be amazing to pinch some of Figma's functionality, to supercharge them for dynamic layouts.
For instance, we often like to set up text variables on a master page, and have a layout which dynamically adjusts. Currently, we can use workarounds like whitespace to set spacing between elements, so that as the content shrinks & expands nothing overflows, and the spacing between these elements remains consistent. It's a limited approach, but better than nothing. You could take this further by having items dynamically align to layout grids (like baseline-grid…

Synchronize footnote settings in books and number across document
Regarding using books and footnotes: I really, really wish the footnote settings were something you could synchronize when synching your book. Also, I wish there was an option to continue numbering throughout the individual documents. Currently, if you do not have your whole document threaded, it will restart the footnote numbering, so I have to set it to restart numbering at each page (or section).
I frequently have books with a dozen different chapters and would like the footnotes to number sequentially within each chapter; and it would be one less thing to remember to edit if the document footnote…9 votes -
The option to remember FULL pdf export settings on a document by document basis
The changes that resulted in the previous similar request being 'closed:fixed' were only to remember the TYPE of file Indesign previously exported it as. Which is great, but we need an option for the FULL pdf export settings to be remembered. We need to be able to have documents remember all previous export settings as otherwise this very complex and problematic to communicate to others if working as a team. Or if you are exporting something again after a long while and no longer have the settings noted. Please help!

Add comments from InDesign to reviewer using Share for Review
It seems like owners of documents can only reply to existing comments made in the Share for Review document but can't create comments in InDesign that appear in the Share for Review document. Often, we have a question about text or images that the reviewer needs to answer, but we have to first Share for Review and then create the comment there. It would be great if we could convert InDesign Notes to comments for the reviewer that they can see in the Share for Review side panel.

Add an "Align to Bleed" in the Align panel/options or Snap to Bleed in View.
The align pallet is invaluable to me as I design catalogs with lots of pages with bleed that switch from left to right regularly during the process, with different backgrounds too. However, when aligning to bleed, I have to manually line up the backgrounds with the bleed line, and its a minor inconvenience not to mention leaves room for human error. Would love to be able to quickly align my backgrounds to right or left outside bleeds, and also snap my backgrounds to the bleed line to make sure it is 100 percent lined up. "Buttons and Forms" panel desperately needs the ability to "add an image" form field
It's imperative to add to the "Buttons and Forms" panel the ability to "add an image" form field. Primarily due to ADA compliancy regarding logical reading order and layering order. Adding an image form field in Acrobat creates a nightmare of reorganizing tags. It's cumbersome and far from efficient. Plus any future edits to the InDesign file, all of the preceding must be recreated each and every time. This is a must needed feature for interactive form filling PDFs that adhere to Accessibility standards.

Lock/Unlock all objects in an entire document
Currently we can lock/unlock an object or all objects on a spread. But what about getting the same features for an entire document so that you don't need to manually do this for every spread?

Add track changes also to foot notes
If you use track changes its a problem that texts in foot notes aren't tracked.
Some type of documents (like financial documents) need trail of changes. Its even a legal request in some cases. So if you depend on the track changes function its a big problem that foot notes aren't tracked. Used to be the same with tables long time ago but that one is now tracked since many versions back...Seems like other also asked about this.

Ability to pass ownership of Share For Review to another user, or indeed share ownership
It would be really beneficial to be able to move ownership of a Share For Review to another user or indeed be able to have a buddy be the owner as often we move our documents around our workforce.

Icon Localization for Asian Users
I am a Korean user.
The menu and description is well displayed in Korean.
But why does the Japanese Hiragana 'あ' appear on the letter ratio icon and the lettering icon?
Does Chinese users see that icon too?It seems that CJK version is using icons together while localizing.
If Adobe respects each country's culture, I would like to change that icon to suit each country.
(ex: '가' for Korean users)

Automatic version control for Share for Review
Would it be possible for InDesign to apply version control (like GitHub) to Share for Review? What if, for example, designers could choose a versioning standard in the preferences panel (e.g. 1.0.1 vs 2020.v1.1) which is then activated when you Share for Review and updated every time the link is updated?
