Can't save or open files
I keep getting error 4 damaged document, cannot save, in Indesign 13.1
It stops me from saving or opening files. I have to quit Indesign 13.1 before I can proceed. Then it seems to work. I have deleted the cache as suggested countless times, it still happens. I have a feeling it's something to do with Illustrator 22.1, when I open that to work on a file and then quit it. It is then that I seem to get the error code 4 in indesign. Can you please advise.

InDesign on wrong monitor
I loaded LR, PS, and AI, then moved them from primary monitor (in upright format) to a secondary monitor (which is in landscape format), maximise them, close them. Next time I open them, they always remember to load to the same place as before, namely the second monitor.
But InDesign keeps loading in the primary monitor, I have to keep shifting it over to the secondary monitor every time I start InDesign.
Seeking the forum for answers, I noticed someone already asked that question, why do it keeps opening in primary window, and it was posted around 2015 or thereabouts.

Notify us of bugs while they are being fixed.
When you have a bug, it would be nice to get a notice. I just spent an hour trying to figure out what I was doing wrong with the dictionary. Finally got in a chat and realized I wasn't doing anything wrong.
It's fine you have bugs. It's amazing what the software does. I don't mind not using a feature while the bug gets fixed. It would, though, save me time and frustration to know that you're working on it and I should relax and wait.
Thank you!

Scratch Disk option
Give InDesign a Scratch Disk option like Photoshop and Illustrator. It consumes far too much memory and runs too slowly on Windows 7.

show last time saved in closing pop-up
I forget sometimes when the last time I saved a document I have open, and when I go to close it, it asks, Save/Don't Save/Cancel. I wish it said a time stamp of the last time it was saved so I don't have to save it if I already saved it 5 mins ago and didn't really make any worthy changes. Yes I could just look at the file info in the finder, just seems like a simple thing to add to save some time.

in the "Printer Marks" tutorial, specify exactly how to print fold marks.
The Printer's Marks tutorial (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/printers-marks-bleeds.html) says: If you select the Crop Marks option, fold marks are printed as solid lines when spreads are printed. But there is no detail about how to create fold marks, and simply printing crop marks does not appear to automatically create fold marks or offer any option to do so. More clarity and specifics would be helpful.

Need the ability to assign fonts to Interactive Text Boxes
Please, please, PLEASE update the Interactive Buttons and Forms functionality to include the ability to assign fonts to the Interactive Text Boxes.
Currently, I have to hope that the design I have made is 100% final approved before I can create the final Interactive PDF and spend additional time fine-tuning the fonts and paragraph alignment. If there are any changes after that, I have to go through the entire process again, losing valuable hours, depending on the length of the document. The ability to change only the font size is useless.
But if the functionality was included in the InDesign…

crash indesign IDML
Hello,
we have a problem on mac when exporting from the network to an IDML file
The Mac is under macOS 10.12.6
There is always a crash of Indesign V13.1 during the backup on the network (smb) in IDML format
Versions 13.01 and 13.1 have been tried
With version 13.01, an adobe patch intended to fix the problem has been applied (https://helpx.adobe.com/en/indesign/kb/crash-save-as-nas-server.html?origref=https%3A% 2F% 2Fwww.google.com% 2F) without giving results
Version 13.1 officially fixes the crash problem during an IDML backup (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/release-note/indesign-cc-march-2018-13-1-release-notes.html ? origref = https% 3A% 2F% 2F% 2Fwww.google.fr)Clear indesign preferences (user or global) do not solve the…

Provide a less expensive license for small businesses/nonprofits.
I am a small business owner and a loyal Adobe customer since the very first versions of Photoshop and Illustrator. I think it would help your customer base, if you do not plan to provide a perpetual license ever again, if there were to be a discounted license for small businesses and/or non-profits who do not have the yearly income to support a $600+ a year expense.
Of course, one would have to provide proof, such as non-profit status or small-business tax return.
Personally, I wish you'd return to perpetual licenses and make all the cloud-related features an additional fee…

Option to cancel exporting to JPG
Currently there is no option to cancel exporting the indesign file to JPG.
Once the process is started we are not able to cancel it.
If there is a 100-page document exported to jpg we have to wait a lot of time depending on the system spec.
If there is a cancel process button where it shows the process of exporting that will be great.1 vote -
Clear Alerts Crashes InDesign
I have an alert saying, "Version 4 ICC Profiles were converted to 2 ICC Profiles during PDF Export." –– and when I click "Clear Alerts," there is an instantaneous crash. Every time.
What could be causing this issue is that this is a new document created from an old one. I've gutted all the assets and created new stuff, but the old export registrar (or what-have-you) must still be embedded and is causing issues when I try to clear that data. I don't know.

InDesign CC needs an easy plug in to export to MOBI file for Kindle readers like there was in past versions.
Past versions of InDesign had option to a third party plugin (KindlePluginForAdobeInDesign) that doesn't work with CC. This plugin was very useful in creating MOBI files from book layouts done in InDesign. Going from EPUB to MOBI doesn't seem to work. Please include this plugin for InDesign CC and make book designer lives easier.

Ability to embed PDF files within an InDesign file (not place pages)
It would be ideal to have the ability to embed PDF's within an offline InDesign File (as you can do with Microsoft Word).
Example use: embedding updated documents in to a company newsletter2 votes -
CS6 future use
32-bit CS6 InDesign works with High Sierra, though with some minor irritations. It will not work at all once Mac goes over solely to 64-bit. It is disgraceful that Adobe tries to make one go over to subscription-only CC. I for one, and I am sure I am not the only one, want nothing to do with a cloud-based subscription, with which you lose access to your own work if you stop paying the sub. For this reason, in preparation for the future, I have just bought 64-bit non-subscription QuarkXpress, at a roughly half-price offer for such as InDesign users…

I think it`s very inconvenient that you can't sync (or save) your settings.
I think it`s very inconvenient that you can't sync (or save) your settings. This feature has been there. Why take away something that makes it harder for users it use to be the other way around.

Duplicate interactive buttons in Indesign
InDesign Interactive buttons
I have duplicate button names but I'm having a difficult time locating the duplicate. If I could use the Tabbing Order box to highlight the button on the page, it would save huge amounts of time! Thanks.1 vote -
Annoying new InDesign CC behavior 5/2018....
When replacing text by highlighting the text and then typing new text, InDesign misses the first letter of new typing, every time. I'm sure it was not always this way. It is annoying, to say the least, and could easily lead to typographical errors from words missing their initial letters, if it does not get caught. No other software that I use works this way. Please look into this bug!
