I don't want to modify the grep style.
If you modify it carelessly, unexpected changes will occur when you open the past data in the revised InDesign. This is fatal in the printing field.
If I were to request something, it would be to add a "Correct interpretation grep style" item to the preferences, and have this be turned off when you open past data.An error occurred while saving the comment

I tried Case 1 in InDesign 20.4.1, and the grep style was interpreted as ^(ab|c) as you pointed out. However, the find grep behaved completely differently. I don't understand this result.

Although the ruler units are in pixels, the layer height and Y position still appear in millimeters.

This is to be expected, since the horizontal and vertical units are set separately.

This issue is fixed in the latest Prerelease build 21.1.0.42, available from CCD app.
Note: We're still working on making this work for Snippets, so that's not available in this build.
Please check if the issue is fixed for you in this build.
