I place a lot of Illustrator artwork into InDesign for manuals. Not only would the captioning be made easier, it also would help to place the correct artboard in the Place panel options.

Agree. This is a no-brainer.
I would also like to be able to update artboards like you can with Photoshop layer comps, and be able to use the artboard name as well as the artboard number.
And search for artboard name when placing.
And caption using artboard name.

Now you can set fonts/typeface directly in InDesign while creating PDF forms. This feature is now available in latest InDesign CC version. Please upgrade to the latest release.

I have been using the Split PDF feature in Acrobat, and naming files to match bookmarks. It works fine but it would be great to reduce the number of steps by having this feature built in.
Works great for Photoshop, why not Illustrator.
Let's get this happening - it's a no-brainer.
