The fix for this issue is available in the InDesign PreRelease build(v21.0.1.006) and above.
Please check if the issue is now resolved.
Download/Update the latest InDesign PreRelease build in Creative Cloud under the “Prerelease” category(Refer to “Prerelease_CreativeCloud.png” for reference)
Please apply to the InDesign PreRelease in case you don’t have access to the InDesign PreRelease build – https://www.adobeprerelease.com/beta/C6DFA254-C40C-4EEB-8F6D-F4AEDA2E6171

The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2025(v20.4.1.004). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.
If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application click on the context menu on the top right, and click on Check for App Updates.

This would also be a great option for Indesign Server! Some configurations use distributed file storage like Ceph and those would benefit, if the temp file is saved locally.

Though only cosmetic, it would be nice, if it could be fixed. Still present in 16.4 and 17.01 on macOS Big Sur/Monterey.
On Windows I do not see this issue.
