PAC 2021 Error for InDesign generated PDF : Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I am still getting Object reference not set to an instance of an object when testing pdf files in PAC 21. This error apparently relates to 'PDF Export using ZIP compression for images shows an “Insufficient data for an image” error on opening in Acrobat.
This was supposed to be fixed in ID 18.5 but its now happening with every PDF I check for accessibility, even a single page with simple text.
Working for local government and its imperative our PDF files exported from ID are fully accessible and tested. Seek an urgent fix.
This issue is fixed in the latest InDesign version 19.4
Please update to this version of InDesign to get the fix.

There is a new version of PAC that will work now with InDesign 2024 PDF!

Having the same problem here. Please, work on a fix.
Exporting as optimized didn't work. -

Having the same problem here. A couple of workarounds:
1. Save as idml file, open and export in older version of InDesign (not the best as things can appear different).
2. Export as optimized PDF from Acrobat (sometimes works). -

An me also - have tried to submit bug report - have 2 identical files - one generated form ID2022 which creates PDF fiel which passes PAC2021 but when pdf is generated from 2024 with latest update - PAC gives error - object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Windows 10
Need to create accessible documents - have same PDF file generated from ID2022 which opens in the PAC2021 checker. Same file- generates pdf form ID2024 [latest update] gives "unexpected error: object reference not set to an instance of an object."
so file 004-ATL104Eng_Chapter2-id2024.pd was generated from latest version of ID2024 - gives PAC error
fiel 004-ATL104Eng_Chapter2_AK_2023-11-14_converted-id2022.pdf was generated form ID2022 - does not give error
Windows 10
file was originally prepared in ID2024 - then converted into 2022 - exact same content
perhaps has something to do with object export options as that crashes version 2024 sometimes
I have tried to upload the 2 files but your server seems nto to want tot accept tehm - contact me - please fix this bug!!!! -
