Type library is not automatically created by CC2020 installation. Error 104705: Unable to load Adobe InDesign Type Library (Version 1.0)
Extensions and scripts halting or crashing after installing CC2020, due to a missing type library.
Our customers report errors after updating to CC2020, and I got the same error when I tried. Our script make a halt at a DoScript call, with this error: 104705: Unable to load Adobe InDesign Type Library (Version 1.0)
After starting InDesign CC2020 "AS ADMINISTRATOR", a missing type library is obviously created: the message and error disappears after doing that once.
It was not enough for my user just to have administrator privileges on my computer and in the domain, I had to explicitly start InDesign as Administrator.
I found the answer here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/doscript-error-unable-to-load-adobe-indesign-type-library-version-1-0/m-p/11335921?page=1#M197052
This needs to be fixed in the Adobe installation package for CC2020. Otherwise many script end-user will have to call support and have someone to start InDesign as administrator for them (in case they are not allowed to do that themselves) – it's not obvious to an end user what to do at all when this error occurs.
The fix for this issue is available in the latest InDesign release 16.2.1
Please update to this latest version to get the fix.

Lots of in5 users are reporting getting the "unable to load Adobe InDesign 2024 Type Library" error with InDesign 19.0.1.
I've been recommending that they run InDesign as administrator, but some of them are in environments where they cannot run as administrator.
Marcie, I don't think that is the same error. Your error 198 is something else. Have you tried this: https://community.adobe.com/t5/creative-cloud-services-discussions/can-t-sync-error-198-install-synchronisation-component-creative-cloud/td-p/12904878

Still not working in 16.2.1
Same result when running as Administrator or normal user.

Hi Marc and others,
the issue is fixed with e.g. InDesign 2021 version 184.108.40.206 that I tested today.
Rolling out of 220.127.116.11 already began. By the end of this week everybody should see the update.

Got a quick question: when this realease will be public in some stable version? It's highly needed in my company.
this is an ongoing error for me as well.
