1. Text input lag with 5k screen

   Typing in any Indesign text box causes input lag on Mac Mini, OS X Mojave and an 5k LG screen connected with a eGPU.

2. Allow split footnote option not working when opening previously saved document

   When I open a previously typeset file with multiple pages and multiple footnotes. I get an overset text error for some of the footnotes telling me to allow split footnotes. In the footnote options, the box is checked and I have to uncheck and recheck the box in order for the footnotes to reflow properly.

   InDesign CC 14.0.3

   I work in the health sector of the Pacific North West. We are incorporating Indigenous languages in our communications both in print and online in an effort to be inclusive and represent our diversity.

   Recently, I have been unable to use any Indigenous keyboard symbols with InDesign (and I assume other CC products) - though I can use it in this forum and in other software. Examples are Ȼ and Ŧ. I've attached a screen grab showing the language keyboards installed on my MacBook Pro and a result. As a reference, this site provides Indigenous language keyboards for free download: languagegeek.com

   Step to reproduce issue
   • I install a free language keyboard from languagegeek.com.
   • I select SENOCŦEN.
   • I use this keyboard to generate an Indigenous character such as Ŧ using the Lato font, which has the tested ability to generate this character.
   • I type in the letter T and a line to create the special keyboard character.

   Expected result
   A T with a horizontal line. Eg Ŧ

   Actual Result
   • A pink box with a line drawn through it showing that the character cannot be produced.
   • Screenshot of result is included.

4. Vertical Table Lines in White (defined in the front, bevore horizontal lines) got overruled

   short:
   Tables, vertical lines white (in front), horizontal lines in black (in the back)
   after undefined cause: horiziontal in front, vertical in the back.
   Workaround: click (in top menue) on the white color again (for the vertical lines)

   describe:
   There is some serious complications with vertical table lines! I want to have the vertical lines cut out of the horizontal ones. This is easy, with doing white vertical table-lines. Works perfekt. But sometimes, not always to reproduce, there is a trouble, where the white lines, hide behind the black herizontal ones after copy&paste or changes in the layout. There is not really a special case where it always happen, it just happen unexpecting. The quick solution ist to mark the table, only pick the vertical line in the top menue, click on the line-color icon (where already white is choosen) and choose white again. Normaly, nothing should change, but then all things are correct again. Seems definitly like a bug.
   Can you please take a look on this behavior?

5. numbering & sections should work on the same line

   Allow second or third automatic lists on the same line.
   The second and other columns do not work automatically. Manually entering value.

8. Forcepoint DLP affects copy and paste functionality in Adobe InDesign

   Following deployment of Forcepoint data loss prevention software into our organisation, functionality for copy and paste in all versions of Adobe InDesign was lost. When pasting, text would lose all formatting and no longer be associated with style sheets. Anchored objects were lost. Some hidden characters e.g. indent to here were lost. Tables were also affected. If pasting into same document, pasted text would adopt whatever style sheet was currently selected. If pasting into a new document, text would default to Minion Pro. Partial improvement was achieved by changing Clipboard Handling preference from Text Only to All Information but this was not the solution, it also populated the Swatches palette with incorrect colours resulting from use of that feature. Full functionality was restored by updating exception rules for Adobe InDesign 2019 in Forcepoint.

10. Superscript numers will not carry over from mounted Excel-file

    When placing a link to excelfiles that has a cell with superscript numbers the superscripted number will not carry over to the Indesign document. For instance 1234[2] will just show 1234 in Indesign.

11. "Add all stories to assignment" doesn't include content of anchored text boxes

    1) I'm using InDesign CC 2019 (14.0.2) under MacOS 10.14.6.
    2) - Open an INDD document with various text boxes
    - Execute Edit -> InCopy -> Add All Stories to Assignment
    3) I would expect this command to include also the content of text boxes that are anchored to other text boxes.
    4) However, it doesn't. The content of such text boxes is missing. However, when I go through the document and release all anchored text boxes before executing the command, it will work properly
    5) I'd love to attach an indd or idml test file but these file types are not allowed here (I wonder what file type is supposed to act as a test file then??). Since furthermore there's only 1 file allowed to be attached (...?!?!?) I can only attach 1 screenshot of the result of executing the command while the text box "Quick Tip" is still anchored: It is not added to the selection. After releasing it, it will be added correctly when executing the command again

12. Ellipses not found by Find/Replace

    Version of Adobe InDesign
    14.0.2 x64

    Steps to reproduce the issues
    1. Placed a Word document. Reformatted etc - lots of work done.
    2. Tried to Find/Replace all ellipses to ensure they have a Thin Space before and after. InDesign Find/Replace finds no ellipses (but I am looking at them, having already replaced three periods with ellipses throughout the document).
    3. Tested in a new document - problem does not occur there. But it does if I paste the text from the previous document in.
    4. Tried exporting to IDML and re-opening to remove any corruption. This made no difference.
    5. Tried Find/replace with [None] as Character Style - miraculously ID now finds the ellipses.

    Expected result
    ID finds ellipses when searching for them!

    Actual result
    ID can't find them unless Character Style [None] is also searched for (in Format).

13. tabulator

    When I have a text on a path and I want to set a tabulator it is not possible to insert the number for the position correctly. There is only one cypher you can insert, die second one will not work. On top, there is the behaviour, sometimes when you insert the number, it will insert the text into the text on the path.

    Fakt is, ist is not possible to work with that.

    InDesign seems to struggle to recognise installed fonts - possibly something to do with how Skyfonts works?

    A file created with Skyfonts fonts shows the font family in square braces with (OTF) appended and substitutes default font, rather than making use of the identically named font file, sitting in c:\windows\fonts\ on PC / Font Book on Mac.

    Same result if the font files are dumped in a Document fonts subfolder next to the InDesign file.

    Troublingly, using a different font cloud sync app (or in the rare instance where the font is available on fonts.adobe.com) doesn't remove the issue - InDesign lists those in its font family menu without the square braces and (OTF) appended.

15. Footnote reference disappears when adding Unicode 1D513 into line

    I am using InDesign 14.0.2.

    We are a book publisher, and we sometimes use a special character in some of our academic work: a gothic P—the Unicode character 1D513 (Mathematical Fraktur Capital P). See: https://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/1d513/index.htm

    However, it does something very wonky with footnotes, which seems to be a bug. If we insert this character—Unicode 1D513—in the same line as a footnote reference, it makes the footnote reference disappear. The footnote stays in place. We have tried different fonts, but it doesn't seem to be font dependent. However, if it is in the same line, but after the footnote reference, it still appears. So it seems to be some strange interplay of this unicode character and the footnote references.

    I don’t know if there are any other characters that do this, but it doesn’t seem to be font dependent. The only way we are able to make the footnote reappear is to make the paragraph use the Adobe Paragraph Composer, instead of the Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer. However, this too is a problem because the paragraphs that use this particular Unicode character often have other languages in them as well, such as Hebrew, and we need the World-Ready Paragraph composer on to make those work, so we can’t just switch that so easily.

    See the attached InDesign document for an example of what happens. You’ll notice the special character P is right before the second footnote, but it is completely invisible, while still being “there.”

    I don’t know if this bug goes beyond this particular Unicode character or not, but it seems strange that InDesign footnotes are not playing well with it.

17. Custom Thai character set does not display properly in composite font

    In the Composite Font Editor, I defined a custom character set that includes all of the characters in Noto Sans Thai and tried specifying various Thai fonts to that character set as part of a composite font.

    However, regardless of the font I specified and regardless of what fonts I specified for the other parts of the composite font in certain circumstances three Thai tone characters would not display (U+0E48, U+0E49, and U+0E4C). As far as I can tell, they do display when they are above another tone character, but they do not display if they are the only tone character. I have confirmed that these characters are included in the custom Thai character set that I defined.

    I attached a PDF showing most of the characters in the custom Thai character set I defined and one of many composite font definitions that I tried.

18. CC Libraries Saved Text issue

    In CC Libraries I have pre-set headlines text set with font and kerning. When I drag and drop desired headline into page layout, the font is changed out to something completely different. I've double check the save CC text file is it's as it's should be. I'm not sure what happened or how to fix it. These headlines I use on a daily bases have have hand kerning needed to each, which is time consuming to do each time.

    Screen shots are with a headline what I'm looking to change from "All you need." to "The real deal." Both are pre-set saved headlines in CC LIB. When I drag and drop the line it shows how it appears on the page. The font is white in the file, but to show you the file itself I've changed it to black. I've quick the program. Running on CC InDesign 40.0.2 Version

19. Can't add uncapitalised word to dictionary

    When I come across a word with an internal capital during spell-checking, eg: iPad, the 'Add' box is live (blue) but nothing happens when I click it.

20. Duplicating Page with table and copy/pasting a table changes content of table BUG?

    Version: 14.0.2

    I have a table that represents a linear calendar. Each month occupies a single row. I created a table to make the calendar, with each date in its own cell. I had some trouble figuring out how to make a new cell start at 1 for each month, as it wanted to continue from the last month's last date (...32, 33, 34, ...). I managed to make it work by changing the numbering options on each individual starting cell.

    However, now when I try to duplicate a page containing the calendar, or if I try to copy/paste the calendar, the individual cell's formatting seems to disappear, as the numbering on half of them continue from the numbering on the previous row.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Make a table with enough rows and columns to reproduce the consecutive numbering (For the months, most of my rows are 1-30) The columns represent the weekdays, repeating as many times as needed for the staggered dates.
    2. Select a cell in row 2 and add a blank character. I used 'End Nested Style Here' character per instructions from another InDesign user: Type>Insert Special Character>Other>End nested
    3. With cursor in cell, open Bullets and Numbering dialog. Select Number, put ^# in Number box, and Continue from Previous in Mode box. I also made sure the greyed-out box next to it said 1 (seemed to make a difference when I changed numbers). Then click OK.
    4. Follow the same procedure in a random cell on the next row, except in the Bullets and Numbering dialog you will this time choose a new list in the List dropdown.
    5. Repeat for all rows. Because I'm creating a calendar, the number list (1-30) staggers.
    6. Once the table is full, copy and paste it onto a new page. Then copy the entire page. For me, both produced the same result. 1, 2, 3,... was replaced with 31,32,33,... or 32, 33, 34... on some rows.

    I have a table that represents a linear calendar. Each month occupies a single row. I created a table to make the calendar, with each date in its own cell. I had some trouble figuring out how to make a new cell start at 1 for each month, as it wanted to continue from the last month's last date (...32, 33, 34, ...).
