Wrong translation of "Art" in German version of InDesign 2020
In prior versions of InDesign one import option for AI and PDF files used to be "Objekt" which is still used in the online help document while InDesign shows probably the original English word "Art" which is confusing since this word also exists in German language but makes no sense in this context.

"Load paragraph styles" changes CMYK numbers
Version 15.0.1, Windows. (Tested with some previous versions also.)
Steps to reproduce:
First: I'm using "Europe General Purpose 3" colour settings, which should, in general, preserve CMYK numbers during workflows.
Create a new document A.indd. Define a new CMYK swatch S (for example, C50-M0-Y0-K0). Define a new paragraph style P which uses S as character colour.
Create another document B.indd. Assign it some different CMYK profile than A.indd has assigned.
Use "Load Paragraph Styles" to copy style P from A.indd to B.indd.Expected result:
In B.indd, I expect to have swatch S with exact the same CMYK numbers than in A.indd. (That is what I get with "Load Swatches" or with copy-pasting P-formatted text from A.indd to B.indd.)Actual result:
Slightly different CMYK numbers for swatch S in B.indd. That is, Indesign is doing CMYK-CMYK colour conversion during style load.

Message about pasting text with endnotes shows up one paste later
Pasting text with endnote(s) does not show a message. You instead get that message the next time you paste an object, even if that object is not a text box containing endnote(s).
There is also a grammar error in the message, where the word "and" should be ", which" — and there is no period at the end of the sentence.
This has been in the last few versions of InDesign. I am using 15.0.1 now.
Reproduce:
- Copy text with endnote(s) to the clipboard
- Paste text into a new thread
- Text pastes properly; a new page is added for the endnote(s) (I am not commenting on THAT behavior)
- No message appears
- Copy a text box or other object(s)
- Paste

0 on numeric keypad not working like it should.
0 on numeric keypad not working like it should. the 0 button above letter keys works properly and so do the numbers 1-9 on the numeric keypad on the right works just fine. I tested the "0" button on other applications and browser to make sure the button physically works and it does. I even tested in adobe Illustrator,

CC2020 missing text upon export to pdf - significant loss of functionality
A document exported to PDF from Indesign CC2020 fails to export the character U+06DD. There is a blank space instead. The only work around is to save as IDML and open and export with Indesign CC2019. CC2019 works just fine. Export choice (PDFx 3 or 1 or etc) does not matter. There is no difference between the two attached files. I exported the 01GEN CC2020.pdf first from Indesign CC2020 and you can see that the character is invisible (but still there). Then I saved the file to IDML, opened it with CC2019, and exported it without any edits. You can see the character clearly

Exporting from Indesign. Default format is ALWAYS IDML
we are constantly exporting PDF's from Indesign to place in layouts. The last couple of updates, Indesign insists on having IDML as the default choice. It used to be once you export a PDF, the rest would default to the same format, but now Indesign just defaults to IDML every time & it is infuriating to open the folder that shud B full of PDF's and find one PDF & the rest IDML :>(

Deselecting "Use Typographer's Quotes" for Excel import doesn't work... unless the paragraph style is set to Language: [No Language]
TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM:
1. Import an Excel document that includes straight quotation marks.
2. In the Import Settings dialogue, uncheck "Use Typographers Quotes."
RESULT:
The quotation marks will be converted from straight to curly.WORKAROUND:
1. Define a paragraph style with "Language" set to "[No Language]."
2. Create a cell style using that paragraph style.
3. Create a table style using that cell style.
4. When importing the Excel content, select that table style (as well as unchecking "Use Typographer's Quotes").
RESULT:
The straight quotation marks will not be converted.NOTES:
• Changing the paragraph Language to [No Language] does not affect Excel content that has already been imported. Only new imports will be affected (as well as linked tables when they are updated).
• This bug does not affect Word documents. Regardless of paragraph Language, straight quotation marks in Word document imports are kept straight. I haven't tested other file types, but so far, only Excel document and/or table imports are affected.
• Credit for the [No Language] workaround goes to Laubender, who suggested it to me in this Support Community thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/bug-deselecting-quot-use-typographer-s-quotes-quot-for-excel-import-not-working/m-p/10841708#messageView2_117be70f9246daEXAMPLE

When opening InDesign 2020 files I get a message that the file is damaged. See screenshot. The same file will open with Adobe 2019.
When opening the file in ID 2019, I get the message that links are missing. Perhaps ID 20 thinks that the file is damaged because the links are missing, so I get the damaged message.

spelling
I am using InDesign 15.0.1 with the English (UK) dictionary. The spell check doesn't work at all - the dynamic spelling feature underlines every single word. I finally upgraded to CC from CS6 because InDesign v8.0 had started doing the same thing, but it still has the same issue.

Selection of several words
It would be great if we could select several words at the same time to apply a style.
For example, in the sentence "It would be great if we could select several words at the same time to apply a style", I would like to select the words "great" and "words" and "style" at the same time in order to put them in bold all at once.
Thanks a lot !2 votes -
Print upside down after rotated the image
I rotated three images on three different pages. When I printed out the document, those three pages were printed upside down! Not just from inDesign, I exported as pdf file and printed through Acrobat, the same thing happened. They look perfectly fine on screen. Also, if I deleted those rotated images, everything was fine, no upside down pages.

Word Lookup / Search with Google for text
How about adding a 'word lookup' OR 'search with Google' for words while working with text copy in Indesign and InCopy? I know there is a default dictionary integrated, but I'm talking about the way you can search any sentence or word in the most browsers just by right-clicking.
Basically, just a feature to add a search engine for text lookups directly from Indesign and InCopy - it will help a lot working with text copies and editing text stories directly from the program.
Merci beaucoup !

not displaying all fonts
I install fonts from various sources and with various methods and INDD never shows all the fonts in the family. I just installed all 18 fonts from Montserrat through the Typekit site and INDD display 14 installed fonts. Same thing using Extensis Suitcase. I can activate 10 fonts and only 6 will display. Where are the rest of my weights?????

Mystery white hairlines showing up on edges of Published Online Document
I am having an issue with documents published online and viewed in Google Chrome. For some reason there are thin white hairlines showing up on the edge of certain pages that are not in the actual InDesign document. On a couple of pages in my book, I have made the background color the same as the background color that shows up in the browser, but these hairlines are still showing the edge of the page.
Screenshots of the white hairlines attached.

Footnote numbering in InDesign does not heed setting
I have a single indd-document containing a book with 300+ footnotes in it. I have set the footnote numbering to "Restart numbering at every --> Section" (i.e. Chapter).
But when I export the document to an EPUB file, InDesign does not heed this setting but keep running the numbering up to "348".
I suspect this is a bug in inDesign 2020 (15.0.1), as there seem to be no good reason for this behavior.
