  1. updating a placed multipage pdf

    Hello,
    When a multipage pdf is placed in InDesign, and an update of the pdf is needed, it is possible to do 'update link' in the links panel. But when 'show import options' is ON (in the 'place' window), all of the placed pages of the pdf will be replaced by page 1 of the updated pdf.
    For my opinion, if you want to update the instances of a placed pdf, the responsive pages have to be updated. At least the option must be accessible when updating the link.

  2. will not open

    indesign will not open documents when I open the program. It shows open but not tabs or home page and will not open any documents. Ive restarted my computer and uninstalled/reinstalled the program and the issue is still happening.

  3. Reaching InDesign’s limits when importing XML

    Late 2013 Mac Pro (3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 16 GB 1866 MHz DDR3, AMD FirePro D500 3072MB, Mojave 10.14.2)

  4. InDesign 2009

    InDesign 2019 on Windows7 physical device, Not Responding shortly after program launch. Have tried removing Users Local profile folder incase of a corrupt Cache file. Still not working.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  5. Severe performance issues

    Using Version 14.0.3 on a MacBook Pro. Every time I try to switch from one object to another the program gives me a spinning wheel of death for about a minute (sometimes more...sometimes I have to force quit/restart). I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app completely. This happens regardless of the document that I have open, even just a text document with no images, etc. There is no crash, the program just freezes entirely.

  6. 14.03 still will not activate Adobe fonts!

    PLEASE actually fix this issue. NOTHING happens when you click on the cloud to activate. The update did not fix it.

  8. optical margin alignement

    The settings for the optical margin alignment are changed after a program crash (InDesign 13.1.1.): Either (more often) the option is deactivated, but occasionally it is also activated. The text will be wrapped completely new accordingly.

  10. Spell Check Defaulting to Check Document. Needs to Default to Current Story

    Spell Check in Indesign is defaulting to checking the entire document. I need it to check the story. Or, at the very least, allow me the option of telling it to default to checking the current story.

  11. Imported CMYK JPEG files appear inverted or as negative

    Reproduced in Adobe InDesign CC 2018 and 2019 on Mac and PC

    1) Converted a PDF file to a CMYK JPEG and a RGB JPEG
    2) Import both images into InDD
    3) RGB image previews/prints correctly
    4) CMYK image previews/prints as inverted/negative

    The CMYK file opens correctly in other apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, Preview, Web Browsers, etc.

  12. maximum open indesign documents

    Hello Guys!

    I have a problem with indesign. I cant open more than 140 documents at ones in indesign but i need all my 146 files to export it with twixl for my interactive app.
    Can i change the maximum of documents that i can open at ones???

    Please help me, i need finish my work tomorrow, thanks!

  13. can't close file

    Running InDesign CC 17 (12.1.0.56). Having to quit app every time I want to close a file. When trying to close file, application frame remains, but I can not close it or minimize it, or open other files. Am quitting app every time I need to open a new file.

  14. Pages Panel shows scroll bar starting at wrong page

    This only happens on startup of InDesign.

    I open a document that has many pages from 2 -120.

    The Pages panel has the scroll bars positioned at the top, next to pages 26-27.

    If the scroll bars are at the top of the document, then pages 2-3 should be showing.

  15. Stop showing the "Setup Libraries Your Way" EVERY TIME I open creative cloud library

    This thing is beyond annoying. Yes it was helpful the first time I saw it. But once I clicked it off once, I never needed to see it again. But this little f***er shows up every time I open the CC libraries after a restart. GIVE ME A DON"T SHOW AGAIN..... Please.

  16. CC library desconfigured after dragging in a table

    Hi there,
    I dragged a table from one page to the cc library panel and it turned black with code characters in colors. I lost all the libraries... can not find them anymore, not even delete this code or replace. Nothing. Please help

  17. Cannot save under a new name error code 1, network share, InDesign 2019

    When I am trying to save InDesign document to a network share using Save As or using Save a Copy, InDesign comes up with an error message saying 'Cannot save, file is damaged, error code 1'.
    InDesign 2019 is up to date.

    Are you able to saveAs/ SaveACopy the file locally?
    What is the exact version of InDesign 2019 are you using? 14.0.1/14.0.2/14.0.3?
    Is it happening with all InDesign files?
    Which OS version are you using?

  18. Color Dialog issue

    Right now, the color displayed is not the color of the item selected. The color seems to have frozen. If I attempt to use the eyedropper in the color palette selection dialog, the whole program freezes, and it is unusable.

    Second issue, If I double click to select an item in a group, indesign thinks I want to add text and automatically adds selects with cursor to start typing.

    so, two issues, color and forced type selection.

  20. [Windows] InDesign/InCopy CC2018 is crashing on document close (icml file with anchored pdf file)

    InDesign/InCopy CC2018 have an issue with PDF (and probably AI) files used as anchors in text frames when the Display Performance/Vector Graphics option is set to High Resolution.

    Steps to reproduce:
    As I'm unable to attach a zip file in here (why?) here's the link to the example:

    1. Start InDesign/InCopy (with settings/cache cleared)
    2. Menu: Edit -> Preferences -> Display Performance -> Adjust View Settings -> Vector Graphics [set to: High Resolution]
    3. Open "crash-example.idml" file.
    4. Select "Update Links" in the dialog (if asked)
    5. Replace crash-example.icml file with a file found in "replace-file-1" folder
    6. Update Content of the text frame (menu…
