  1. [InCopy] Sequence of stories is jumbled in Galley or Story View but not in Layout View

    We use InCopy for book production. When we send out an Indesign/InCopy Package to our editors, sometime the sequence of the stories seems to be random. It's all fine in Layout View. This makes reading and edition in Story or Galley View very hard.

    Typing letters "fl" in a word in swedish will leave two blanks! How to fix that?

  4. Incorrect kerning on justified text

    InDesign v. 12.2.0.56

    I'm working in a book file, and this problem seems to occur at random. The kerning in the first word of a line of justified type is incorrect visually, but when you check it with the cursor, it is the correct number. If you change it, it jumps and appears to be correct again, visually, but if you save, close, and reopen the file, it is incorrect again.

    It is problematic because when a PDF is exported, the incorrect kerning is what gets exported.

    The problem has occurred in two different books I have worked on with…

  5. Character missing in Adobe Devanagari font

    Please review the attachment.

    I am unable to locate or reproduce the character after the = using the Adobe Devanagari script. Need it urgently as I am working on a book.

  7. nonprinting text boxes disappear in normal view. Create a text box and type text into it. Select Window/Output/Attributes, and tick the box.

    InDesign 18.2.1, Mac Mini Apple M2 Pro, Ventura 13.3.1 (a). Create a text box in Normal View and type text into it. Select the box, then Window/Output/Attributes, and tick Nonprinting. The text box on the page becomes invisible, although you can still select it if you know where it is. What should happen is that the box and text remain visibile but do not print. This makes the nonprinting feature useless. This was OK in my last version of InDesign, CS6 on a PC.

  8. Find and replace tab stuck a the top

    The tab is stuck at the top, I cannot move, close it. When restarting indesign, it does the same thing.

  9. footnotes bug

    How do I get footnote #1 in my screenshot to show up with footnotes #2 and #3 at the bottom of the page. For the life of me, I cannot find a setting that makes this possible. Thank you in advance.

      Install InDesign Middle Eastern Version, open the language List, all languages are greyed out.

    3. Expected result
      Not to be greyed out

      Language list is greyed out

  11. Can't add extra space before a styled paragraph

    I need to add a few points of space before a styled paragraph to base align two columns. I add them in the paragraph box, but nothing happens and then the amount reverts to the original amount. How can I override? Never had this problem with previous versions of ID; I'm using the newest one.

  12. Digits after spaces appear out of order

    1. InDesign CC 2017.1
      I had previously used Arabic support, and this may be contributing to the problem, even after changing Preferences back to "English (North America)" the problem persists.

    2. Create text box. Type any digit, then a space, then any digit.

    3. Digits should appear left to right.

    4. The digit after the space jumps to the left of the first digit and includes a space after. Cursoring with arrow keys through the type makes the cursor position jump around, so the misplaced digit is still reading as after sequentially, but is now to the left of the previous digits (really screwy!).
